The Fe-treated CNT/$TiO_2$ photocatalysts mixed with anatase and rutile phase have been developed for the decomposition of non-biodegradable different organic dyes like methylene blue (MB), rhodamine B (Rh.B), and methyl orange (MO) in two conditions as ultraviolet and visible light respectively. The results indicate that all the Fe-CNT/$TiO_2$ composites proved to be more efficient photocatalysts since degradation of MB at higher reaction rates, tthe decomposition rate of different dyes increases with an increase of $Fe^{3+}$ concentration in composites the highest rate of decomposition of different dyes was noted under UV irradiation. These results can indicate that the large CNT network is facilitate the electron transfer and strongly adsorb dye molecules on the texted photocatalysts, iron is reactive in the photo-Fenton process resulting in high production of OH radicals and also high activity of the photocatalyst. And Fe particles can generate more photoinduced electrons to conduction band of $TiO_2$ under visible light irradiation. The composites of Fe-CNT/$TiO_2$ photocatalysts synthesized by a sol-gel method were characterized by BET, TEM, SEM, XRD and EDX.
This study introduces a method to eliminate formaldehyde and benzene, toluene from indoor air by means of a photocatalytic oxidation reaction. In the method introduced, for the good performance of the reaction, the effect and interactions of the $TiO_2$ catalyst and ultraviolet in photocatalytic degradation on the reaction area, dosages of catalysts, humidity and light should be precisely examined and controled. Experiments has been carried out under various intensities of UV light and initial concentrations of formaldehyde, benzene and toluene to investigate the removal efficiency of the pollutants. Reactors in the experiments consist of an annular type Pyrex glass flow reactor and an 11W germicidal lamp. Results of the experiments showed reduction of formaldehyde, benzene and toluene in ultraviolet $/TiO_2/$ activated carbon processes (photooxidation-photocatalytic oxidation-adsorption processes), from 98% to 90%, from 98% to 93% and from 99% to 97% respectively. Form the results we can get a conclusion that a ultraviolet/Tio2/activated carbon system used in the method introduced is a powerful one for th treatment of formaldehyde, benzene and toluene of indoor spaces.
Chemical mechanical polishing (CMP) is a key technology used for the global planarization of thin films in semiconductor production and smoothing the surface of substrate materials. CMP is a type of hybrid process using a material removal mechanism that forms a chemically reacted layer on the surface of a material owing to chemical elements included in a slurry and mechanically removes the chemically reacted layer using abrasive particles. Sapphire is known as a material that requires considerable time to remove materials through CMP owing to its high hardness and chemical stability. This study introduces a technology using electrolytic ionization and ultraviolet (UV) light in sapphire CMP and compares it with the existing CMP method from the perspective of the material removal rate (MRR). The technology proposed in the study experimentally confirms that the MRR of sapphire CMP can be increased by approximately 29.9, which is judged as a result of the generation of hydroxyl radicals (·OH) in the slurry. In the future, studies from various perspectives, such as the material removal mechanism and surface chemical reaction analysis of CMP technology using electrolytic ionization and UV, are required, and a tribological approach is also required to understand the mechanical removal of chemically reacted layers.
The IUE archival spectra of VV Cephei were collected to investigate the eclipse nature in the ultraviolet. The temperature of the B star has been determined, as approximately30,OOOK, based en the flux distributions durstributions during egress, Light curves of VV Cephei were reduced from the spectrophotometry of the IUE archival spectra. Three light curves at the center wavelengths of 2350A,2550A and :!850A have been analyzed by the modified Wilson and Oevinney light curve program. the radii of the B star and M star were deduced to 0.05 and 0.22 of uint separation, respectively. The UV light curves show anevidence that the light was attenuated by the highly opaque atmosphere of the M star

The radii of the B star and M star were deduced to 0.05 and 0.22 of unit separation, respectively. The UV light curves show an evidence that the light was attenuated by the highly opaque atmosphere of the M star.
In this paper, we obtained that the monodomain alignment of nematic liquid crystal (NLC) increases with increasing irradiation time with linearly polarized ultraviolet (LPUV) light irradiation on polyimide (PI) surfaces. It was found that the monodomain alignment of NLC is obtained in a cell with normally LPUV light irradiated on PI surface at 30 min. and then oblique LPUV is secondly irradiated on PI surfaces rotated by $90^{\circ}$. The pretilt angle of NLC is generated about $2.5^{\circ}$ with oblique angle of $60^{\circ}$ and then decreased with increasing the oblique angle of IN light irradiation. It is considered that the pretilt angle of NLC is attributed to the photo-depolymerization of polymer with the oblique angle of UV light. The voltage-transmittance and response time characteristics of photo-aligned twisted nematic (TN)-LCD with UV light irradiation time of 60 min. were almost same in comparison with rubbing treated TN-LCD.

I reviewed about dyeing fastness and functional properties of the non-mordant dyed cotton and iron mordant dyed cotton with astringent persimmon juice. In the UV-VIS spectrum of astringent persimmon juice, the maximum absorption wavelength of the juice was 272.0 nm, which was a characteristic peak of tannin. In dyeing fastness, light fastness of the non-mordant dyed cotton was a little low at grade 2~3. But by the iron mordant treatment, the light fastness was good at grade 4. Dry cleaning fastness to discoloration and contamination was excellent at grade 4~5 for both the non-mordant dyed cotton and iron-mordant dyed cotton. Their rub fastness were grade 3 and grade 2~3 respectively, in the dry condition, and grade 2~3 and grade 3 respectively, in the wet condition. In the perspiration fastness of the non-mordant dyed cotton, the discoloration from acidity and alkalinity was grade 3~4 and grade 3, respectively, and contamination from acidity and alkalinity was relatively good at grade 4. Meanwhile, in the perspiration fastness of the non-mordant dyed cotton, discoloration from acidity and alkalinity was fair, both recording grade 3~4, and contamination from acidity and alkalinity was very good, both recording grade 4~5. In the ultraviolet protection effect of the non-mordant dyed cotton and iron-mordant dyed cotton, the ultraviolet protection factor was both 50+, both of which showed an excellent ultraviolet blocking effect. And the protection rate of UV-A appeared 98.4% and 99.1%, respectively, and the protection rate of UV-B showed 98.7% and 99.2, respectively. In addition, both exhibited an excellent deodorization rate over 99.9% or more, irrespective of the passage of time. Also, both showed an excellent antimicrobial activity over 99.9% or more against Staphylococcus aureus and Klebsiella pneumoniae.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the changes in the property of nylon fabrics dyed with safflower red and yellow colorants under Ultraviolet(UV)-light. For this purpose, nylon fabrics dyed with safflower red and yellow colorants were compared with each other after uv-light exposure in terms of K/S value, color changes(${\Delta}E$), morphology, and strength retention. K/S value rapidly decreased with increasing exposure time, but K/S value of the samples dyed with safflower red colorants decreased less than that of samples dyed with safflower yellow colorants. In color changes, as increasing exposure time, $L^*$ increased, $a^*$ decreased, $b^*$ increased, and so ${\Delta}E$ increased in samples dyed with safflower red colorants. In color changes, as increasing exposure time, $L^*$ increased, $a^*$ and $b^*$ decreased, and thereby ${\Delta}E$ increased in the samples dyed with safflower yellow colorants, indicating fading away by uv-light and changes of hue, value and chroma value. But the color change of samples dyed with safflower yellow colorants was less than that of samples dyed with safflower red colorants. SEM pictures showed a severe degradation by uv exposure, regardless of colorants type. Tensile strength slowly decreased until 14 days, and rapidly decreased until 28 days. Strength retention of the samples dyed with safflower yellow colorants was higher than that of the samples dyed with safflower red colorants.
To utilize collagen as an implantable biomateriall the mcct widely used bovine skin origin Type I collagen was investigated Pepsin treated, Type I atelocollagen was extracted and crosslinked by the ultraviolet(W) ray with wavelength of 254nm or by various concentrations of glutaraldehyde to produce collagen membranes. The crosslink rates of the specimens were observed by a polarized light microscope, a scanning electron microscope, and a Fourier transform infrared (FT-lR) spectrometer. The followings are concluded 1. The collagen membranes produced by both 2.5% glutaraldehyde solution and 254nm UV ray irra- diation demonstrated similar morphologies on polarized light microscopic and scanning electron microscopic views. 2. The chemical structures of the crosslinked membranes by glutaraldehyde over 2.5% in concentrations revealed similar intensities to that of the UV ray irradiated one in FT-lR investigation. 3. To obtain optimal croulink in bovine stalin origin Type I atelocollagen, 2.5% glutaraldehyde solution or UV ray irradiation with 254nm wavelength is acceptable.
