Photovoltaic(PV) permits the on-site production of electricity without concern for fuel supply or environmental adverse effects. The electrical power is produced without noise and little depletion of resources. So BIPV(Building-Integrated Photovoltaic) system have been increased around the world. Hereby the relative installation costs of the system will be relatively low compared to traditional installations of PV in high-rise buildings. This paper examined possibility of building integrated balcony PV system and analyzed both performance and problems of this system. The system is influenced by conditions such as irradiation, module temperature, shade and architectural component etc. If this BIPV system of 1.1kW is possible the natural ventilation in the summer case, the temperature of PV module decrease and then the efficiency of PV system increase generally. By the results, the annual averaged PR of BIPV system of cold facade type is about 74.7%.

This study aims to identify the Spatial Changes and the main agent of space creation in Samrye Area during the Japanese Occupation Period. As for the urban space in the Samrye area, the urban space was expanded to the Hujeong-ri area from the construction of the Jeonbuk light railway. Before 1914, the urban space of Samrye was formed around Samrye Station in Samrye-ri, which oversees Samrye-do from the Goryeo Dynasty to the Joseon Dynasty, but when Samrye Station of Jeonbuk light railway was established in Hujeong-ri in 1914, the foundation of a ladder-type street network visible from the central space of the current Samrye area was formed until the 1930s. And it was the Japanese and Korean landowners who took the lead in the construction of the Jeonbuk light railway, not the government, who expanded the urban space of Samnye from Samrye-ri to Hujeong-ri. The background of the establishment of Jeonbuk light railway is the reason why Dongsan Farm has difficulty in transporting rice to the Honam Line during the rice harvest. At that time, Park Ki-soon, famous as the land king, took charge of the established chairman of the railroad installation and established it, and with the establishment of Samrye Station, the access road was connected to his farm. In addition, a new road was built on the farm land that owned the Hujeong-ri area to the Seoul-Mokpo Interroad in Samrye-ri, thereby expanding the urban space. In other words, unlike Gunsan and Iksan, which were built under the leadership of the Japanese colonial eran government, the urban space in Samrye area was expanded by a farmer who grew up as a large landowner based on agriculture, which was the economic base at the time.

The recent environmental protection issue has diminished the supply of sand for soft ground improvements so much that the prices of sand have shown a sudden rise. Plastic material is one of substitutes for sand material, but plastic is nonperishable and doubtable if it has potential environmental hormone disrupting substances. Moderate-priced natural fiber drain board made with coconut coir and jute filter are in the spotlight recently as an alternative material for sand and plastic drain board etc. Natural fiber drain has not only competitive price but also a characteristic of assimilation into the soils after finishing of its own function. Discharge capacity of the fiber drain board evaluated by triaxial type discharge capacity test was relatively lower than that of plastic drain board. Nevertheless, settlement and pore pressure dissipation behaviors of the fiber drain board and the plastic drain board which were installed in the clayey soil during the composite discharge capacity test were almost similar. It was also found that biodegradation of the fiber drain board was in progress until 18 month after installation in the clayey soil, but they had still enough engineering properties to use at field.
This paper describes an experimental analysis for improving the stability of blade failure due to the vibration resonance, which happens in the low-pressure steam turbine. Some cracks due to high cycle fatigue were found in the blades of a low-pressure turbine after long time operation. Impact test showed that such failure was mainly caused by the resonance. In other words, since one of the natural frequencies of the grouped blade is very close to the excitation frequency of the nozzle, the resonant vibration leads to a large amplitude of displacement and results in a large amount of stress that may cause fatigue failures in the blades. It is interesting that the blade failures occur only at blades neighboring with the nodal points of the natural vibration mode whose natural frequency is close to the nozzle passing frequency. The effective methods for increasing the reliability against the blade vibration are a heightening the fatigue limit of the blade using an advanced material and a removing the resonance away from the operating speed. It is well known that the removal of theresonance could be obtained by the installation of different types of shrouds, wires, and links between the blades as well as by the chance of the number of nozzles. In the present work, two kinds of modification for avoiding the resonance haute been considered; 1) slot-type finger, 2) long span cover. Full-scale mockup tests have been performed in order to confirm the verification for modification in the shop. Test results show that the use of long span cover is very useful to change the natural frequencies of the grouped blade and to avoid the resonance effectively.
This study is on the availability of solar thermal energy in Korean high-rise apartment complex depending on the installation type of solar collectors to roof or facade of building. Firstly, solar access evaluation on the roof and the facade of apartment buildings was carried out. The total thermal load of each apartment unit and building was investigated and matched with the energy which was produced by solar thermal systems on the facade. The considered layout patterns of apartment buildings were '一type', 'alternative 一type', 'ㄱtype' and 'ㅁtype' and that was analyzed in prior studies. Extensive dynamic hourly energy simulations with the solar thermal system were Performed with the TRNSYS of SEL. We assumed that the apartment complex is composed of 9 buildings and located in Daejeon. The collectors are the heat-pip evacuated tube collectors and the number of collectors are 45 tubes We assumed that the collectors are installed on the balcony of each unit and the angle of incilnation is $90^{\circ}$. As a result, the supply amount of solar thermal systems is about 4,850,086kJ/hr and the solar fraction is about 66%. The solar fraction according to each azimuth is about 66% on the south, 62% on the south-east $30^{\circ}$ and 56% on the south-east $60^{\circ}$. So, we quantitatively got a line on the optimal azimuth for installing the solar thermal systems. The solar fraction has differences from 5% to 15% of each floor, 6th, 12th and 20th and those tendencies are same in analyzed each 4 types of the apartment complexes.

Purpose: Though Korean healthcare services have been upgraded, infection and fire had been broken out in general hospitals. And higher concerns about quality assessment made it to clinical laboratory design guideline studies. So, this study investigates the facilities, equipment and personnel of laboratory medicine focusing on more than five hundred fifty bed hospital, and contributes to make guidelines for safety and efficiency in lab. Methods: Questionnaires to supervisor technologist and field surveys to medical laboratories in korean hospitals have been conducted for the data collection. 16 answers have been analysed statistically by MS Excel program. Results: Most of the sample tests such as hematology, clinical chemistry, immunology, transfusion, urinalysis, microbiology and molecular diagnosis are performed by more than 80% in large sized general hospital laboratory. In the test methods, automatic analyzers are used up to 80%, total laboratory automation up to 43% in clinical chemistry and immunology, and manual tests in all sorts of the test. There are placed in single lab or two and three labs above the ground, which are all in semi-open lab. There is some correlation with the number of specimens and the number of lab people depending on the number of hospital beds. Laboratory environment shows that work distance is good, but evacuation path width, visibility, separation of staff area from automatic analyzer, and equipment installations are needed to have more spaces and gears. Most of the infection controls are equipped with mechanical ventilation, air-conditioning, washbasin and wastewater separation, BSC installation and negative pressure lab room. Implications: Although the laboratory space area is calculated considering the number of hospital beds, type of tests and number of staff, hospital's expertise and the samples numbers per year should be taken into account in the planning of the hospital.
Solar water pumping system (SWPS) is reliable and beneficial for Indian farmers in irrigation and crop production without accessing utility. The capability of easy installation and deployment, makes it an attractive option in remote areas without grid access. The selection of portable solar based pumps is pertaining to its longer life and economic viability due to lower running cost. The work presented in this manuscript intends to demonstrate performance analysis of portable systems. Consequent investigation reveals PSWS as the emerging option for rural household and marginal farmers. This can be attributed to the fact that, a considerable portion (around 45.7%) of the country's land is farmland and irrigation options are yet to reach farmers who entirely rely on rain water at present for harvesting of the crops. According to census 2010-2011 tube wells are the main source for irrigation amongst all other sources followed by canals. Out of the total 64.57-million-hectare net irrigation area, 48.16% is accounted by small and marginal holdings, 43.77% by semi-medium and medium holdings, and 8.07% by large holdings. As per 2015-16 census data, nearly 100 million farming households would struggle to make ends meet. The work included in this manuscript, presents the performance of different commercial brands and different technologies of DC surface solar water micro pumping systems have been studied (specifically, the centrifugal and reciprocating type pumps have been considered for analysis). The performance of the pumping systems has been analyzed and data is evaluated in terms of quantity of water impelled for specific head. The reciprocating pump has been observed to deliver the best system efficiency.

To rapidly recover ceased functionality of a facility after a catastrophic seismic event, critical decisions on facility repair works are made within a limited period of time. However, prolonged damage assessment of facilities, due to massive damage in the surrounding region and the complicated damage judgment procedures, may impede restoration planning. To assist reliable structural damage estimation without a deep knowledge and rapid interactive analysis among facility damage and restoration operations during the approximate restoration project planning phase, we developed a prototype of distributed facility restoration simulations through the use of high-level architecture (HLA) (IEEE 1516). The simulation prototype, in which three different simulations (including a seismic data retrieval technique, a structural response simulator, and a restoration simulation module) interact with each other, enables immediate damage estimation by promptly detecting earthquake intensity and the restoration operation analysis according to estimated damage. By conducting case simulations and experiments, research outcomes provide key insights into post-disaster restoration planning, including the extent to which facility damage varies according to disaster severity, facility location, and structures. Additional insights arise regarding the extent to which different facility damage patterns impact a project's performance, especially when facility damage is hard to estimate by observation. In particular, an understanding of required type and amount of repair activities (e.g., demolition works, structural reinforcement, frame installation, or finishing works) is expected to support project managers in approximate work scheduling or resource procurement plans.

In this study, we classified and analyzed the type and cause of resident conflicts and made a solution at side of resident through resident survey study for research subjects located at photovoltaic system will be installed or not. The factors of resident conflicts based on news media release from 2006 to 2018 were classified to four types such as economic, environmental, technological and procedural factors. According to the news analysis, the types and proportion of resident conflicts in the photovoltaic system projects showed 33% of economic factors, 32% of environmental factor, 21% of technological factor and 14% of procedural factor. This news analysis may suggest that it is very important residents to share the economic benefits as well as to ensure the fairness of the procedures for carrying out the project based on transparent information disclosure during the business promotion and profit distribution stages. We conducted the poll survey in the rural towns where photovoltaic system will be installed or not. The poll survey results showed that (i) there is quite difference in agreement rate and other recognition for sensitive matters such as profit distribution, environmental and technological factors whether photovoltaic system will be installed or not, (ii) the resident conflict regarding the photovoltaic system installation can reduce through direct involvement of residents process. To solve these resident conflicts, the local governments should mainly effort and consider the supporting technologies and consults to solve clearly resident conflicts. In addition, it has to advertise the safety of photovoltaic systems regarding electromagnetic wave which were within the range of scientifically harmless to the human body.

The aim of this study to propose an efficient method in selecting the type of new and renewable energy applied in at the planning phase of buildings. This study applied geothermal energy facilities with high adaptability to buildings. This study considered the energy reduction and reduced cost by comparing the values with the energy consumption before applying of geothermal energy facilities. In order to propose more reliable criteria of economic evaluation, maintenance costs reflecting the replacement cycles and initial construction costs by drawings and specifications for installation facilities for practical geothermal energy based on construction statement for life-cycle cost analysis. The results will help to effectively select economic types of facilities for new and renewable energy of the planning phase of buildings.
