Robust Control of Induction Motor with HTheory based on Loopshaping

  • The $H_{\infty}$ approach, adopted in this paper, is based on loop shaping using a normalized coprime factor combined with a field-oriented control to control induction motor. We develop two loops. The first one, the inner loop, controls the stator current by $H{\infty}$ controller in order to obtain good performance. The second loop, the outer one, guarantees stability and tracking performance of speed and rotor flux using a proportional integral controller. When the rotor flux cannot be measured, we introduce a flux observer to estimate the rotor flux. Simulation and experimental results are presented to validate the effectiveness and the good performance of this control technique.

  • This paper presents a controller design method for a robust control problem with multiple constraints using genetic algorithms and LMI design method. A robust $H_{\infty}$ constraint with loop shaping and pole placement is used to address disturbance attenuation with error limits and desired transient specifications, in spite of the plant uncertainties and disturbances. In addition, a loop gain constraint is considered so as not to enlarge the loop gain unnecessarily. The robust $H_{\infty}$ constraint and pole placement constraint can be expressed in terms of two matrix inequalities and the loop gain constraint can be considered as an objective function so that genetic algorithms can be applied. Accordingly, a robust controller can be obtained by integrating genetic algorithms with LMI approach. The proposed controller design method is applied to a track-following system of an optical disk drive and is evaluated through simulation results.

  • This paper describes the development of a fuzzy logic control based on PID controller to improve the performances of the control system using conventional PID controller for the cascade process control systems. The structure of the proposed control system consists of two fuzzy-based PID controllers. One is used to eliminate the input disturbances of the inner loop and the other is used to regulate output response of the outer loop. The fuzzy PID design is derived from the linear-time continuous function of the conventional PID controller. The performance of the proposed controller is verified by MATLAB/SIMULINK simulation. Results of simulation studies demonstrates the outstanding of the control system using fuzzy-based PID controller in terms of reduced overshoot and fast response compared with the conventional PID controller.

오존발생장치용 정출력 전원장치의 개발 (Development of Constant Output Power Supply System for Ozonizer)

  • 본 논문에서는 오존발생장치의 전원측 파형에 포함되는 고주파수의 노이즈를 제거하고, 디지털 궤환 제어에 의해 오존 출력을 제어하기 위하여 전원장치의 출력측 LC 필터와 방전관 용량으로부터 커패시터 전압과 전류를 검출하여 2중의 제어루프를 설계하였다. 디지털 제어기의 연산지연시간을 보상하기 위하여 연산지연시간을 전원장치 플랜트의 고유한 파라미터로 가정하고, 플랜트 모델에 포함시켜 모델링 하였다. 오존발생장치의 부하변동에 따르는 과도상태 응답특성을 개선하고, 파라미터 변동에 강인한 특성을 얻기 위하여 내부 전류 모델 제어기를 제안하였다. 또한 오존발생장치용 전원장치에서 영 오차의 정상 상태를 얻기 위하여 외부 전압 제어루프를 구성하여 비례 제어기와 공진 제어기를 병렬로 연결한 비례-공진 전압제어기를 제안하였다.

모멘트쌍 액추에이터가 적용된 PPF에 의한 평판의 능동진동제어 (Positive Position Feedback Control of Plate Vibrations Using Moment Pair Actuators)

  • This paper reports the active vibration control of plates using a positive position feedback(PPF) controller with moment pair actuators. The equations of motion of the plates under a force and moment pairs are derived and the equations of PPF controllers are formulated. The numerical active control system is then achieved. The effect of the parameters - gain and damping ratio - of the PPF controllers on the open loop transfer function was investigated mainly in terms of the system stability. Increasing the gain of the PPF controller tuned at a mode, the magnitude of the open loop transfer function is increased at all frequencies without changing the phase behavior. The increase of the damping ratio of the PPF controller leads to decrease the magnitude of the open loop transfer function and to modify its phase characteristics, ie, system stability. Based on the behavior of the gain and the damping ratio of the controller, PPF controller for reduction of the plate vibration can be achieved. Two PPF controllers are designed with their connection in parallel to control the two modes simultaneously. Each PPF controller is tuned at the $1^{st}$ and $2^{nd}$ modes, respectively. Their parameters were determined to remain the system to be stable based on the results of the parametric study. A significant reduction in vibration at the tuned modes can be obtained.

A Feasible Approach for the Unified PID Position Controller Including Zero-Phase Error Tracking Performance for Direct Drive Rotation Motor

  • The design and implementation of a high performance PID (Proportional Integral & Differential) style controller with zero-phase error tracking property is considered in this article. Unlike a ball screw driven system, the controller in a direct drive system should provide a high level of tracking performance while avoiding the problems due to the absence of the gear system. The stiff mechanical element in a direct drive system allows high precise positioning capability, but relatively high tracking ability with minimal position error is required. In this work, a feasible position controller named 'Unified PID controller' is presented. It will be shown that the function of the closed position loop can be designed into unity gain system in continuous time domain to provide minimal position error. The focus of this work is in two areas. First, easy gain tunable PID position controller without speed control loop is designed in order to construct feasible high performance drive system. Second, a simple but powerful zero phase error tracking strategy using the pre-designed function of the main control loop is presented for minimal tracking error in all operating conditions. Experimental results with a s-curve based position pattern commonly used in industrial field demonstrate the feasibility and effective performance of the approach.

Generalized predictive control based on the parametrization of two-degree-of-freedom control systems

  • We propose a new design method for a generalized predictive control (GPC) system based on the parametrization of two-degree-of freedom control systems. The objective is to design the GPC system which guarantees the stability of the control system for a perturbed plant. The design procedure of our proposed method consists of three steps. First, we design a basic controller for a nominal plant using the LQG method and parametrize a whole control system. Next, we identify the deviation between the perturbed plant and the nominal one using a closed-loop identification method and design a free parameter of parametrization to stabilize the closed-loop system. Finally, we design a feedforward controller so as to incorporate GPC technique into our controller structure. A numerical example is presented to show the effectiveness of our proposed method.

다단제어용 안티 와인드업 기술 개발 (Development of Anti-windup Techniques for Cascade Control System)

  • 본 연구에서는 다단제어(Cascade Control)를 위한 안티 와인드업(Anti-windup) 기술을 개발하였다. 다단제어는 외란을 보다 효과적으로 제어하기 위해 내부에 되먹임(Feedback) 제어루프를 추가한 제어구조이다. 단일루프제어(Single-loop Control)와는 다르게 두 개의 제어루프로 이루어져 내부의 종속제어루프(Secondary Control)가 외부의 주제어루프(Primary Control)에 영향을 미치는 특징을 가지고 있다. 산업현장에서 다단제어에 적용하는 기존의 안티 와인드업 기술은 주로 주제어기(Primary Controller)와 종속제어기(Secondary Controller)에 각각 로컬 역연산법(Back Calculation)을 적용하는 것이다. 하지만 이 방법은 종속제어기의 제어출력이 포화되었을 때 발생하는 주제어기의 적분누적(Integral-windup) 현상을 효과적으로 제거하지 못한다. 이를 해결하기 위해 기존 로컬 안티 와인드업 기술을 확대 적용한 두 가지의 다단제어용 안티 와인드업 기술을 제안한다. 첫 번째는 다단 조건부 적분법(Cascade Conditional Integration)이고 두 번째는 다단 역연산법(Cascade Back Calculation)으로 단일루프제어에 적용되어 왔던 로컬 조건부 적분법과 역연산법을 다단제어로 확대 적용하여 다단제어 시스템에서 PID제어기의 적분누적 현상을 방지하고자하였다. 개발한 다단 조건부 적분법과 다단 역연산법은 간단하고 직관적이면서도 종속제어기의 제어출력의 포화로 인해 발생한 적분누적현상을 효과적으로 방지할 수 있고 공정이나 제어기 형태에 상관없이 우수한 제어성능을 유지할 수 있었다. 향후 실제 공정 적용을 통해 신뢰성을 확보한다면 산업현장의 다단제어기 성능을 개선하는데 크게 기여를 할 수 있을 것이다.

Fuzzy Controller Design for Fuel Saving in Sun Point Mode for KOMPSAT-2

  • The mission life of a satellite determines the amount of fuel required on-board, while the total mass requirement limits the fuel to be loaded. Hence, for the design of thruster control loop, not only the satellite pointing accuracy but the saving of fuel is to be considered. In this paper, a two-step fuzzy controller is proposed for the thruster control loop to save fuel consumption. This approach combines requirements for pointing control accuracy with minimum fuel consumption into a fuzzy controller design. To demonstrate this approach, we have designed a fuzzy controller for the Sun point Mode of KOMPSAT-2. The performance of this fuzzy controller design is compared with that of PD controller used for KOMPSAT-2.

Fuzzy Modeling and Control of Differential Driving Wheeled Mobile Robot: To Achieve Performance Objective

  • The dynamics of the DDWMR depends on the velocity difference of the two driving wheels. And which is known as a type of non-holonomic equation. By this reason, the treatment of DDWMR had become difficult and conservative. In this paper, the differential-driving wheeled mobile robot is considered. The Takaki-Surgeno fuzzy model and a control method for DDWMR is presented. The suggested controller has three control elements. The first element is fuzzy state feedback designed for eliminating the dependence of time-varying parameter. The second element is weighting controller which is designed for good frequency response. The third controller is PI-controller which is designed for good command following and robustness with un-modeled dynamics. In order for achieving the performance objective, the design of controller is based on the loop-shaping algorithm.
