The reactions of 1H-1,2,4-triazole (Htr) with $MX_2$ ($ZnCl_2$ for 1; $CdBr_2$ for 2) resulted in two coordination polymers, [Zn(tr)Cl]$_n$ (1) and $[Cd(Htr)_2Br_2]_n$ (2). The structural analyses indicate that 1 and 2 feature a 2D layer and 1D triple chain, respectively. In 1, neighouring Zn atoms are connected by ${\mu}_3-1$${\kappa}N$: 2 ${\kappa}N$: $4{\kappa}N-tr^-$ anionic ligand into 6- and 16-membered rings, further grow into a 2D sheet. Cd atoms in 2 are bonded by two ${\mu}_2-Br^-$ bridges and neutral ${\mu}_2$-1 ${\kappa}N$: 2 ${\kappa}N$-Htr to form a 1D triple chain. The fluorescent characterizations of 1, 2 and the free Htr ligand feature simlilar emission peakes at 444, 446 and 423 nm respectively, which can be assigned to intra-ligand ${\pi}-{\pi}^*$ transition of (H)tr. The energy gaps of 5.90 eV for 1, 5.16 eV for 2, and 5.93 eV for Htr suggest that the compounds behave as insulators.

Light trapping techniques can change the propagation direction of incident light and keep the light longer in the absorption layers of solar cells to enhance the power conversion efficiency. In thin film silicon (Si) solar cells, the thickness of absorption layer is generally not enough to absorb entire available photons because of short carrier life time, and light induced degradation effect, which can be compensated by the light trapping techniques. These techniques have been adopted as textured transparent conduction oxide (TCO) layers randomly or periodically textured, intermediate reflection layers of tandem and triple junction, and glass substrates etched by various patterning methods. We reviewed the light trapping techniques for thin film Si solar cells and mainly focused on the commercially available techniques applicable to textured TCO on patterned glass substrates. We described the characterization methods representing the light trapping effects, texturing of TCO and showed the results of multi-scale textured TCO on etched glass substrates. These methods can be used tandem and triple thin film Si solar cells to enhance photo-current and power conversion efficiency of long term stability.

In this paper, The four types SRA(Sequential Rotated Array) antennas has been analyzed. Those are consisted of a 4-elements SRA, a 8-elements SRA, the $2{\times}2$ planer array SRA and the triple (4+8+4)-elements SRA. These LHCP SRA antennas are used a probe feeding multi-layer truncated microstrip antenna whose center frequency is 11.85 CHz. The cooperated feeding circuits are designed for feeding to each elements with equal amplitude and regular phase. Comparing with the each simulation results and experiment results of this 4-type SRA antennas, the triple (4+8+4)-elements SRA showed the most electrical characteristics in the degree of integration, high gain and low cross polarization.

Molten carbonate fuel cells (MCFCs) are environmentally friendly, large-capacity power generation devices operated at approximately 650℃. If MCFCs are to be commercialized by improving their competitiveness, their cell life should be increased by operating them at lower temperatures. However, a decrease in the operating temperature causes a reduction in the cell performance because of the reduction in the electrochemical reaction rate. The cell performance can be improved by introducing a coating on the cathode of the cell. A coating with a high surface area expands the triple phase boundaries (TPBs) where the gas and electrolyte meet on the electrode surface. And the expansion of TPBs enhances the oxygen reduction reaction of the cathode. Therefore, the cell performance can be improved by increasing the reaction area, which can be achieved by coating nanosized LiCoO2 particles on the cathode. However, although a coating improves the cell performance, a thick coating makes gas difficult to diffuse into the pore of the coating and thus reduces the cell performance. In addition, LiCoO2-coated cathode cell exhibits stable cell performance because the coating layer maintains a uniform thickness under MCFC operating conditions. Therefore, the performance and stability of MCFCs can be improved by applying a LiCoO2 coating with an appropriate thickness on the cathode.

The absorbing structure composed of multi-layered fiber reinforced composite materials was designed and microwave absorbing properties are investigated. On the basis of transmission line theory, the theoretical equations to predict the reflection loss and the appropriate composite material for each functional layer are suggested. The most significant result of this study is the successful design and fabrication of triple-layered composite laminates which has the superior microwave absorbing porperties (more than 10 dB in 4∼12 GHz range), without using the ferrite filler in the impedance transforming layer. In the two-layered composite laminate (absorber/substrate), however, the use of ferrite filler (about 40 wt %) in the absorbing layer is necessary to obtain the certain level of microwave absorbance. By combining the glass-fiber composite with ferrite filler and carbon-fiber composite substrate, the microwave absorbing properties more than 10 dB in 4∼12 GHz frequencies than be obtained.

Using chemical vapor deposition(CVD), the synthesis of graphene was performed on poly and single crystalline Cu substrates. The growth behavior of graphene and its characterization were shown utilizing the optical microscopic image and its image analysis. As a result in the analysis of graphene growth, it was found out the graphene is growing always in particular direction in relation to the crystalline direction of a single grain in polycrystalline Cu substrate. With the image analysis it was possible to show the characterization of graphene, such as the growth direction and the number of layers showing single, double and triple layers, within the neighboring single grains in polycrystalline Cu. In addition, the relatively large area of graphene with about $3mm^2$ on Cu(111) having high quality, single layer, and single crystalline was shown along with its characterization.
The optical system of lens must be designed to tramsmit light over wide wavelength range and to have lower reflectivity in order to obtain higher spectral transmittance. However, the reflection color light appears due to the remain-reflection light in any optical system of lens. The wavelength of the reflection color light can be controlled by the structure of the number of layers, thickness of layer, reflective index, wavelength of incidence, and substrate etc. In the optical systems of the single layer and the double layers, the reflection color light appears in the condition of the anti-reflection of ${\lambda}s/{\lambda}$ = 1.0 by the color mixture of the remain-reflection lights in the ranges of the longer wavelength side and the shorter one of the ${\lambda}s/{\lambda}$ = 1.0, and of the double layers and triple layers, the reflection color light positioned at P1 < ${\lambda}s/{\lambda}$ < P2 appears in the condition of the antireflection of ${\lambda}s/{\lambda}$ = $PI{\ll}1$ and $P2{\gg}1$. In the optical system of the multi-layers, many antireflection points are existed at the various s/ values, and the reflection color light by the color mixture of the remain-reflection lights in the ranges except for the antireflection points.

Amorphous silicon alloy (a-Si) solar cells and modules have been receiving a great deal of attention as a low-cost alternate energy source for large-scale terrestrial applications. Key to the achievement of high-efficiency solar cells using the multi-junction approach is the development of high quality, low band-gap materials which can capture the low-energy photons of the solar spectrum. Several cell designs have been reported in the past where grading or buffer layers have been incorporated at the junction interface to reduce carrier recombination near the junction. We have investigated profiling the composition of the a-SiGe alloy throughout the bulk of the intrinsic material so as to have a built-in electrical field in a substantial portion of the intrinsic material. As a result, the band gap mismatch between a-Si:H and $a-Si_{1-x}Ge_x:H$ creates a barrier for carrier transport. Previous reports have proposed a graded band gap structure in the absorber layer not only effectively increases the short wavelength absorption near the p/i interface, but also enhances the hole transport near the i-n interface. Here, we modulated the GeH4 flow rate to control the band gap to be graded from 1.75 eV (a-Si:H) to 1.55 eV ($a-Si_{1-x}Ge_x:H$). The band structure in the absorber layer thus became like a U-shape in which the lowest band gap was located in the middle of the i-layer. Incorporation of this structure in the middle and top cell of the triple-cell configuration is expected to increase the conversion efficiency further.
Microstructural variation and strengthening effects with lamination methods of alumina fiber-reinforced ${\gamma}$-LiAlO2 matrixes for Molten Carbonate Fuel Cell(MCFC) were studied. The porosities of all matrix laminated by hot-pressing of two green sheets under 1 kg/$\textrm{cm}^2$ at 45$^{\circ}C$ for 1 min and by double-casting which the second layer cast on the first green sheet dried for 3.5h were more than 50%. The strength of the Al2O3 fiber-reinforced matrix prepared by lamination was enhanced by 70% in comparison with the non-laminated matrix (115 gf/$\textrm{mm}^2$) and the strength-directionality due to fiber-orientation also could be removed. The strength of matrixes laminated by triple-casting was higher than that of the double-cast matrix, but triple-cast matrix showed the directionality with the casting direction, and furthermore its porosity was less than 50%. Although the strength of matrixes laminated by double-casting (195 gf/$\textrm{mm}^2$) is slightly less than that of matrixes laminated by hot-pressing (212 gf/$\textrm{mm}^2$), the double-casting method was evaluated to be more efficient laminating process in MCFC matrix processing.
In conservation treatment lacquer has been used variously as a restoration material. However, dealing with Lacquer is very difficult as it dried in high humidity that can be harmful to the base materials. Also being natural varnish, dried lacquer layer is very different from the drying condition and the quality of the lacquer. These make difficult to predict the result of drying lacquer. In this study, using the humidity control machine, firstly, the main contents of the two different type of lacquer was experimented. And these lacquers was cured in various conditions. The duration time was checked until totally hardened. After that, obtained lacquer layers was analyzed to understand optical properties. Therefore, this study made a result about the relationship between characteristics of lacquer layer and the hardening condition. As a result, duration time of the Korean lacquer drying which has average 13.4% more urushiol than the Chinese lacquer is recorded a twice or triple decrease over it of the Chinese one. And, in all types of lacquer, the higher humidity makes the faster a pace of lacquer dried. In same lacquer, the shorter the duration time of drying lacquer is much darker and glossier. However, gloss deteriorated in saturated humidity. In humidity lower than RH 70%, lacquer is not hardened in 336 hours. When the layer totally cured through long period more than 30 days, the drying lacquer is appeared high brightness and almost transparent. Thus, in lower than RH 70%, it is hard to obtain durable layer.
