  • The purpose of study is to propose the possibilities of finding trigonometric function values using trigonometric function graphs instead of the unit circle method. And it is to discuss how to enhance relating trigonometric function value finding to graphs construction, and students conceptual understanding of the properties of trigonometric functions. The conclusions of this study are the effectiveness of function value finding using trigonometric function graphs, the use of a precise term of function value finding given general angles, consideration of a link between function value finding and graphs, and the possibility of teaching trigonometric function graphs in advance of function value finding.

  • This paper measured some condition about differential height of two points for the comparison of measure by direct method and Geodimeter and trigonometric Leveling method. The research was compared relationship between the volue to get from three measure method and five measured man. The significance of between three measure method and five measured man has been investigated by analysis of two-way ANOVA. The result indicate that between five measured man show insignficance, and between the direct method and Geodeter method show signficance and between the direct method and trigonometric Leveling method show signficance but between the Geodeter method and trigonometric Leveling method, two method show insignficant. Therefore, when using Geodemeter leveling method and trigonometric Leveling method, you must keep particular attention when former two Leveling method about instrumental error, natural error, and personal error, two Leveling method using low precision leveling.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze students misunderstood types relate to trigonometric function and to devise its teaching method using GSP. To do this, we performed several steps as followings: First, we performed questionnaire survey to 70 students belong to second year at high school to find students comprehension degree about radian angle representation and trigonometric function graph. Second, we devised the teaching-learning materials relate to trigonometric function graph using GSP. And then, we used them in the class of 35 students who are at the time to learn trigonometric function in the first year at high school. Third, we conducted Questionnaire survey to students studied through teaching and learning materials using GSP. As a result of doing the survey, we found that general students were interested in the class using GSP and they could also operate computer without difficulty.

  • Since all the poles of the open circuit voltage transfer function of the trigonometric, linear, passive RC circuits exist on the negative real axis of s-plane, its transient response to the unit step input is monotonic. This satisfies the necessary conditions for the applicability of Elmore's method which had been developed originally for the transient analysis of lumped circuit in computing the rise time and delay time of the trigonometric distributed RC circuits. This paper describes the computing method of rise and delay times of the trigonometric distributed RC circuit. The analysis shows that the transient response of this kind circuit depends only upon the time constant and distance angle $\theta$. As $\theta$ is increased, the rise and delay titles are increased non-linearly.

  • The need for smoothness measures emerged by mathematicians working in the fields of approximation theory, functional analysis and real analysis. In the present paper, a new version of generalized modulus of smoothness is studied. The aim of defining that modulus, is to find the degree of best Lp functions approximation via trigonometric polynomials. We benefit from Jackson integrals to arrive to the essential approximation theorems.

  • This paper is about didactical transposition, which is to transpose academic knowledge into practical knowledge intended to teach. The research questions are addressed as follows. 1. Are the 13 mathematics textbooks of the 10-Na level indisputable regarding with the didactical transposition, in terms that the order of arrangement and the way of explaining the knowledge of trigonometric functions being analyzed and that its logical construction and students' understandings are considered? 2. Can some transpositions for easier use of didactical manipulative, for more practical and for more principle based be proposed? To answer these questions, this research examined previous studies of mathematics education, specifically the organization of the textbook and the trigonometric functions, and also compared orders of arranging and ways of explaining trigonometric functions from the perspective of didactical transposition of 13 versions of the 10-Na level reorganized under the 7th curriculum. The paper investigated what lacks in the present textbook and sought a teaching guideline of trigonometric functions(especially about sector and graph, period, characters of trigonometric function, and sine rule).

  • The purpose of this paper is that it analyzes the historical development of the concept of trigonometric functions and discuss some didactical implications. The results of the study are as follows. First, the concept of trigonometric functions is developed from line segments measuring ratios to numbers representing the ratios. Geometry, arithmetic, algebra and analysis has been integrated in this process. Secondly, as a result of developing from practical calculation to theoretical function, periodicity is formalized, but 'trigonometry' is overlooked. Third, it must be taught trigonometry relationally and structurally by the principle of similarity. Fourth, the conceptual generalization of trigonometric functions must be recognized as epistemological obstacle, and it should be improved to emphasize the integration revealed in history. The results of these studies provide some useful suggestions to teaching and learning of trigonometry.

  • In this paper, thermal buckling analysis was conducted using trigonometric shear deformation theory, which employs only four unknowns instead of five. This present theory is variationally consistent, and accounts for a trigonometric variation of the transverse shear strains across the thickness and satisfies the zero traction boundary conditions on the top and bottom surfaces of the plate without using shear correction factors. The grading is provided along the thickness of the plate as per power law volume fraction variation of metal-matrix ceramic reinforced composite. The non-linear governing equation problem was solved for simply supported boundary conditions. Three types of thermal loads are assumed in this work: uniform, linear and non-linear distribution through-the-thickness. It is well known that material properties change with temperature variations and so the analysis was performed for both the cases: temperature-dependent (TD) and temperature-independent (TID) material properties. The impact on thermal buckling for both linear and non-linear temperature variation was considered. The results were validated for the TID case with other theories and were found to be in good agreement. Furthermore, a comprehensive analysis was performed to study the impact of grading indices and geometrical parameters, such as aspect ratio (a/b) and side-to-thickness ratio (a/h), on the thermal buckling of the FG plate.

  • This study proposes a decorative typeface which is produced through the concept of trigonometric functions in an open-source programming language known as Processing. First, the theoretical background of Processing and trigonometric functions as well as previous research in this area are analyzed. Second, basic modules of 'V', 'I', 'O', and 'M' were created for use as the final alphabet typeface with the concept of a trigonometric function. Third, a decorative parabolic curve that encircles the base module was created. Finally, the modules created on Processing were edited in Adobe Illustrator to create a typeface set with characters from A to Z. Various artworks using Programming can produce an infinite number of different versions by modifying only some of the variables and codes, and this method can include multimedia features such as text, images, videos, interactive art and various forms of content and media. Therefore, with regard to expression, the possibilities are endless. In this study, I attempt to expand the field of visual culture using programming and computational methodologies. In contrast to the digital typeface production method, which relies on existing graphic tools, this study is meaningful because it expands the range of use of decorative typefaces.

  • The aim of the present work is to study the nonlinear behavior of the laminated composite plates under transverse sinusoidal loading using a new inverse trigonometric shear deformation theory, where geometric nonlinearity in the Von-Karman sense is taken into account. In the present theory, in-plane displacements use an inverse trigonometric shape function to account the effect of transverse shear deformation. The theory satisfies the traction free boundary conditions and violates the need of shear correction factor. The governing equations of equilibrium and boundary conditions associated with present theory are obtained by using the principle of minimum potential energy. These governing equations are solved by eight nodded serendipity element having five degree of freedom per node. A square laminated composite plate is considered for the geometrically linear and nonlinear formulation. The numerical results are obtained for central deflections, in-plane stresses and transverse shear stresses. Finite element Codes are developed using MATLAB. The present results are compared with previously published results. It is concluded that the geometrically linear and nonlinear response of laminated composite plates predicted by using the present inverse trigonometric shape function is in excellent agreement with previously published results.
