A Fuzzy Multi-Objective Linear Programming Model: A Case Study of an LPG Distribution Network

  • Supply chain management is a subject that has an increasing importance due to the developments in the global markets and technology. In this paper, a fuzzy multi-objective linear programming model is developed for the supply chain of a company dealing with procurement, storage, filling, and distribution of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) in Turkey. The model intends to determine the quantities of LPG to be procured, stored, filled to cylinders, and transported between the plants and demand centers for six planning periods. In this model, which aims to minimize both total costs (sum of procurement, storage, filling, and transportation costs) and total transportation distances, demand quantities of the main demand centers and decision maker's aspiration levels about objective functions are fuzzy. After comparing the results obtained from the model with those obtained by using different methods, it is concluded that the proposed method can be applied to real world problems practically and it may be used in this type of problems in order to generate an efficient solution.

Stochastic Programming for the Optimization of Transportation-Inventory Strategy

  • In today's competitive environment, supply chain management is a major concern for a company. Two of the key issues in supply chain management are transportation and inventory management. To achieve significant savings, companies should integrate these two issues instead of treating them separately. In this paper we develop a framework for modeling stochastic programming in a supply chain that is subject to demand uncertainty. With reasonable assumptions, two stochastic programming models are presented, respectively, including a single-period and a multi-period situations. Our assumptions allow us to capture the stochastic nature of the problem and translate it into a deterministic model. And then, based on the genetic algorithm and stochastic simulation, a solution method is developed to solve the model. Finally, the computational results are provided to demonstrate the effectiveness of our model and algorithm.

전시탄약 재보급 할당에 관한 연구 (A Study on Ammunition Resupply Allocation Model)

  • In this paper, with the limited range of ammunition supply point(ASP) at ammunition battalion in specific corps and light automobile battalion(LAB) directly supports its vehicle for ammunition supply, we propose optimal model to minimize transportation time and logistics cost using integer programming(IP) for efficient ammunition resupply allocation during a given operation period of front combat unit. And then, we consider ammunition treatment and supply capacity of ammunition supply point(ASP), constraint elements of transportation ability considering time and cost, ammunition storage capacity of combat unit, combat situation and unit mission to propose this model. Finally, through numerical example, we examine the applicable feasibility of proposed model.

  • Inventory, cost, and the level of service are three interrelated key metrics that most supply chain organizations are striving to optimize. One way to achieve this goal is to create a simulation model to conduct sensitivity analysis and optimization on several different supply chain policies that can be implemented in actual operation. In this paper, a case of Xerox global supply chain modeling and analysis to assess several "what if" scenarios for the consumable policy safety stock is presented. The simulation model, combined with analytical cost model and optimization module, is used to optimize the policy safety stock level to achieve the lowest total value chain cost. It was shown quantitatively that the policy safety stock can be reduced, but it is offset by the inbound premium transportation cost to expedite supplies in shortage, and the outbound premium transportation cost to send supplies to customers via express shipment, requiring fine balance.

행정중심복합도시 대중교통 이용활성화를 위한 수요탄력성 분석 (An Analysis of Demand Elasticity to Facilitate the Use of Public Transportation in the Administrative City)

  • Administrative city has been developed step by step aiming to being a public transport-oriented new city. In spite of its primary goal, administrative city is dominated by car-oriented tansportaion system because the supply of public transportation has not been adequately and timely performed. In this study, we investigate the current situation related to (public) transportation use in administrative city. Also, we examine the issues of traffic system through a survey on residents' consciousness about public transportation use. Additionally, the analysis of demand elasticity according to the change of the conditions of using public transportation and passenger car is conducted for passenger car users. As a result, it is analyzed that as the neighborhood is more stabilized after the completion of development the resistance to the abandonment of passenger car is higher when the tide demand control method is introduced. Therefore, it is concluded that pre-emptive public transportation supply and the management of car demand management are necessary for the activation of public transportation in Administrative city.

버스운행관리 및 수송전략에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Bus Operation Management and Transport Strategy)

  • The bus should supply an equal service to the whole community as feeder trip. However the existing bus route can not supply an effective feeder service in spite of the changes in the latent demand by the variety of regional structural change. This study aimed to establish the concept which frames the bus operation and management to cope with the latent demand to the bus. This study tackled this evidence by analyzing the transportation problems in terms of the urban growth emphasizing the following issues ; First, the strategy to improve the bus operation Second the land use control appropriate for the public transportation network Third economical range to justify the bus operation Second, the land use control appropriate for the public transportation network Third, economical range to justify the bus operation Fourth, the allowance for the private transportation mode On the latter part, the difference on the bus operation was compared to determine the range within which the bus operation could be justified. This study would provide some implications to improve the management for bus operation and fundamental information to develop the bus operation system.

  • 본 논문에서는 무정전전원장치(UPS : Uninterruptible Power Supply 이하 UPS)에서 사용되는 단상인버터의 전압 제어기의 낮은 대역폭으로 인하여 발생될 수 있는 전압 위상 지연 문제를 해결한다. 제안하는 방법은 전압 명령에 대한 전향보상을 이용한 새로운 전압 제어기를 제안하고 이를 MATLAB Simulink를 사용한 시뮬레이션을 통하여 효과를 입증하였다.

수요-공급의 동시모형을 통한 공로 화물운송특성분석 (The Analysis of the Road Freight Transportation using the Simultaneous Demand-Supply Model)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 지금까지의 수요 또는 공급의 한 측면만을 중심으로 하는 일방향적 단일모형에서 벗어나 화물운송의 수요-공급을 동시에 고려하는 모형을 정립하고 이를 활용하여 국내운송특성을 분석하고 정책적 시사점을 도출하는 것이다. 이를 위해 기존의 단일모형의 한계를 논하고 이를 개선할 수 있는 수요-공급 동시모형을 도입하여 국내화물운송 실적자료를 바탕으로 모형을 개발하였으며, 이를 바탕으로 국내공로화물의 특성을 분석하고 정책적 시사점을 도출하였다. 본 연구에서 개발된 모형은 공차거리율의 감소로 인한 적재효율의 증가는 적재용량(공급량)을 안정적으로 증가시키고, 이는 다시 물동량을 증가시키는 과정을 잘 묘사하고 있다. 이러한 상호조정 인과관계로부터 정부의 규제완화 조치가 장기적 관점에서 운송시장의 효율성을 재고시킬 것으로 예상할 수 있다. 그런데 물동량의 증가에 따른 공차거리율 감소 폭보다 적재용량의 증가에 따른 공차거리율 증가폭이 훨씬 큰 것으로 분석되어, 조정에 따른 단기적 비효율을 유발하는 것으로 나타나 물류인프라 구축과 단기적 조절 정책이 필요함을 시사하고 있다. 덧붙여 영세업자의 난립에 따른 소비자 보호를 위한 보완책과 함께 수요와 공급의 시장조절 능력에 따라 단계적으로 규제를 완화에 나아가는 것이 바람직한 것으로 분석되었다.

수송문제의 최적해 (Optimal Solution for Transportation Problems)

  • 본 논문은 수송 문제의 최적 해를 찾는 방법을 제안하였다. 수송 문제는 공급량과 요구량이 동일한 균형 수송과 공급량과 요구량이 다른 불균형 문제로 구분된다. 수송문제의 최적 해를 얻는 대표적인 TSM은 먼저, 불균형 수송 문제인 경우 가상의 행이나 열을 추가하여 균형 수송 문제로 변환시킨다. 다음으로 NCM, LCM, VAM 등 다양한 방법을 적용하여 초기 해를 구한다. 마지막으로 초기 해가 최적 해인지 검증하는 MODI를 적용한다. 따라서 최적 해를 구하는 과정이 복잡하다. 제안된 방법은 불균형을 균형 수송 문제로 변환하는 과정을 거치지 않고 직접 적용한다. 또한, 초기 해가 최적해인지 검증하는 과정도 수행하지 않는다. 제안된 방법은 첫 번째로, 행에 대해 공급량을 비용 오름차순으로 요구량을 만족하도록 배정한다. 두 번째로, 각 열에 대해 배정된 량이 요구량을 초과하는 순으로 배정량을 조정한다. 배정량 조정 방법은 다음 수행 순위 열의 비용과의 차이인 손실비용이 가장 큰 셀에 우선 배정하고 나머지 셀에 대해서는 배정량을 조정한다. 조정된 배정량은 요구량을 만족하지 못하는 수행 순위 오름차순 셀들에 추가된다. 모든 열에 대해 배정량이 조정되면 마지막으로 행의 최소 비용에 미 배정되었거나 열의 최대 비용에 배정된 경우 배정량을 상호 교환하는 방법으로 추가 조정한다. 불균형 배송 2개와 균형 배송 13개 데이터에 제안된 방법을 적용한 결과 모두 최적 해를 구하는데 성공하였다. 또한, 기존의 방법들이 최적해를 구하지 못한 4개 데이터에 대해서 추가로 최적 해를 구하였다. 따라서 제안된 방법은 수송 문제에 대해 일반화된 단일 방법으로 적용할 수 있을 것이다.

무역학회지 메타 분석-운송 및 물류 분야 (A Meta Analysis on International Trade Transportation and Logistics of Korea Trade Review between 1975 and 2020)

  • This study is following the study of "A Meta Analysis on International Trade Transportation and Logistics" published in Korea Trade Review(KTR) in 2014 and adding additional analysis for articles published in journals of international trade transportation and logistics. Studying issues of KTR are moving from transportation to logistics after 2014 and it is similar with the other international journals. The ratio of the thems of 'Economic, Policy, Regional, Technical, General Enterprise Management' in KTR is 36%, while 57.36% of IJLM and 61.88% of JBL. Main theme in the field of international transportation and logistics is Supply Chain Management(SCM). After the former study, in the viewpoint of research methods, quantitative researches are increased while their portion is still low compare to International Journal of Logistics Management(IJLM) and Journal of Business Logistics (JBL). Especially econometric research method is highly adopted in the international journals compare to KTR. Number of authors of KTR is less than IJLM and JBL, because the collaboration between researchers is needed when they publish articles in the international journals like IJLM and JBL.
