In the wireless sensor networks, a sensor node has limited resources such as battery or memory. Hence, the routing protocol used in the wireless sensor networks is required efficient use of resources. In this paper, the VAP(Virtual Address Protocol), ensures the shortest transmission path for data transmission between the sink node and sensor node, is proposed. The VAP is assigned each node virtual address and sub address related with its neighboring nodes. The shortest transmission path to the destination node will be choose by comparing to each other address of its neighboring node. The comparison with other existing routing protocol shows that transmission path and usage of memory resource are minimized. Also transmission delay time of data was reduced.

In this paper, we present an analytical and simulated study on the performance of adaptive vehicular ad hoc networks (VANET) priority based on Transmission Distance Reliability Range (TDRR) and data type. VANET topology changes rapidly due to its inherent nature of high mobility nodes and unpredictable environments. Therefore, nodes in VANET must be able to adapt to the ever changing environment and optimize parameters to enhance performance. However, there is a lack of adaptability in the current VANET scheme. Existing VANET IEEE802.11p's Enhanced Distributed Channel Access; EDCA assigns priority solely based on data type. In this paper, we propose a new priority scheme which utilizes Markov model to perform TDRR prediction and assign priorities based on the proposed Markov TDRR Prediction with Enhanced Priority VANET Scheme (MarPVS). Subsequently, we performed an analytical study on MarPVS performance modeling. In particular, considering five different priority levels defined in MarPVS, we derived the probability of successful transmission, the number of low priority messages in back off process and concurrent low priority transmission. Finally, the results are used to derive the average transmission delay for data types defined in MarPVS. Numerical results are provided along with simulation results which confirm the accuracy of the proposed analysis. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed MarPVS results in lower transmission latency and higher packet success rate in comparison with the default IEEE802.11p scheme and greedy scheduler scheme.
Recently the increasing numbers of cars and traffic jamming makes air pollution condition more severely. Especially high-density population area, in most big cities like Bejing and Seoul, can lead to lung illness and other diseases. In this study to decrease this kind of air pollution condition, a method of air pollution information transmission is proposed. For the transmission of air pollution and traffic control data, international standard technology, the TPEG is applied.

In this paper, a newsynchronization technique applied to burst-mode communication is proposed. A synchronization technique is to estimate carrier frequency and phase offsets in a noisy channel environment. A fundamental problem for estimating the parameters(carrier phase and frequency offsets) in burst-mode transmission is that the ways of pursuing estimation accuracy and transmission efficiency are always trade-off. To solve this problem, a new carrier recovery technique is proposed to improve the transmission efficiency with reliable performance especially at low S/N. In the proposed technique, the synchronization parameters are first estimated based on a data-aided feed-forward estimation scheme. Then, a phase tracker using decision-directed DPLL estimates the phase offset for the data portion of the burst data. From simulation results, it shows fast synchronization with shorter preamble maintaining reasonable BER performance at low S/N.

This paper describes the design and development of VSI (VLBI standard interface) optical adapter for transmitting VLBI(Very long baseline interferometry) observation data with optical signal. VSI cable comprised of 80-line is being used for observed data transmission with maximum length of 5-meter between playbacks (Mark5B, VERA2000) and raw VLBI data buffer (RVDB), RVDB and VLBI correlation subsystem (VCS) in Daejeon correlator. It has a plan to conduct the data processing for 16-stations and introduce the 14 RVDB systems in near future. And data loss frequently occurred because of trouble of VSI cable MDR80 connector. By considering the data loss by connector error of VSI cable, RVDB system extension plan, effective space usage and long distance data transmission(e-VLBI), the VSI optical adapter was proposed and developed for effectively transmitting and receiving VLBI data through optical signal. In order to confirming the performance of developed VSI optical adapter, the experiments for data transmission was conducted between playback and RVDB system, and confirmed that data transmission was clearly done without any data loss.
Dynamic thermal rating (DTR) of overhead transmission lines can provide a significant increase in transmission capacity compared to the static thermal rating. However, the DTR are usually estimated by the traditional thermal model of overhead conductor that is highly dependent on the solar, wind speed and wind direction data. Consequently, the estimated DTR would be unreliable and the safety of transmission lines would be reduced when the solar and wind sensors are out of function. To address this issue, this study proposed a novel thermal model of overhead conductor based on the thermal-electric analogy theory and Markov chain. Using this thermal model, the random variation of conductor temperature can be simulated with any specific current level and ambient temperature, even if the solar and wind sensors are out of function or uninstalled. On this basis, an estimation method was proposed to determine the DTR in the form of probability. The laboratory experiments prove that the proposed method can estimate the DTR reliably without measured solar and wind data.
Owing to the advantages of assuring the best views and seawater exchange, submerged breakwaters have been widely installed along the eastern coast of Korea in recent years. It significantly contributes to promoting the advancement of shorelines by partially inhibiting incident wave energy. Observations were carried out by a pressure-type wave gauge in the Bongpo Beach to evaluate the coefficients of wave transmission via a submerged breakwater, and the results obtained were compared with those of existing conventional equations on the transmission coefficient derived from hydraulic experiments. After reviewing the existing equations, we proposed a transmission coefficient equation in terms of an error function. Although it exhibited robust relationships with the crest height and breaking coefficient, deviations from the observed data were evident and considered to be triggered by the difference in the incident wave climate. Therefore, in this study, we conducted a numerical experiment to verify the influence of wave period on the coefficients of wave transmission, in which we adopted a parabolic-type mild-slope equation model. Consequently, the deviation from calculated results appears to practically cover all deviation range in the observed data. The wave period and direction of the incident wave increased, the transmission coefficient decreased, and the wave direction was determined to demonstrate a relatively significant influence on the transmission coefficient. It was inferred that this numerical study is expected to be used practically in evaluating the design achievement of the submerged breakwater, which is adopted as a countermeasure to coastal beach erosion.
Transmission tower-line systems have come to represent one of the most important infrastructures in today's society. Recent strong earthquakes revealed that transmission tower-line systems are vulnerable to earthquake excitations, and that ground motions may arrive at such structures from any direction during an earthquake event. Considering these premises, this paper presents experimental and numerical studies on the dynamic responses of a 1000 kV ultrahigh-voltage (UHV) transmission tower-line system under different seismic incidence angles. Specifically, a 1:25 reduced-scale experimental prototype model is designed and manufactured, and a series of shaking table tests are carried out. The influence of the seismic incidence angle on the dynamic structural response is discussed based on the experimental data. Additionally, the incidence angles corresponding to the maximum peak displacement of the top of the tower relative to the ground (referred to herein as the critical seismic incidence angles) are summarized. The experimental results demonstrate that seismic incidence angle has a significant influence on the dynamic responses of transmission tower-line systems. Subsequently, an approximation method is employed to orient the critical seismic incidence angle, and a corresponding finite element (FE) analysis is carried out. The angles obtained from the approximation method are compared with those acquired from the numerical simulation and shaking table tests, and good agreement is observed. The results demonstrate that the approximation method can properly predict the critical seismic incidence angles of transmission tower-line systems. This research enriches the available experimental data and provides a simple and convenient method to assess the seismic performance of UHV transmission systems.

Information Centric Networking that uses content name instead of IP address as routing identifier can handle challenges such as traffic explosion and user mobility, but it also suffers from scalability and incompatibility problems. In this paper by combining the concept of software defined networking and Internet end to end arguments, we propose a wide area deployable software defined information centric networking service model named SD-ICN. SD-ICN employs a dual space structure that separates edge service network and core transmission network. The enhanced SDN techniques are used in edge service network in order to implement intelligent data routing and caching, while traditional IP technique is reserved in core transmission network so as to provide wide area high speed data transmission. Besides, a distributed name resolution system based on the cooperation of different controllers is also presented. The prototype experiments in our campus network show that SD-ICN can be deployed in a scalable and incremental way with no modification of the core network, and can support typical communication modes such as multicast, mobility, multihoming, load balancing, and multipath data transmission effectively.
Recently, it is possible to high speed transmission of the non-voiced data, including voice, data, moving image instead of voice only in the past by changing the communication method to digital form from analog owing to the development of semiconductor and computer technology which for information transmission of the remote point. By doing so, we can get the improvement of the noise effect and low cost but the loss of transmission bandwidth. It is necessary to take some method in oreder to reducing the fading which is propotional to transmission bandwidth during the transmission of radio communication channel, especially. When we design the digital communication system, we must considered to the fading effect in order to determination of the transmitting power, modulation /demodulation method, transmission speed, bit error rate. This paper mainly concerns to the method to the channel simulator which descrives the fading effect during the transmission by computer model and digital filter modeling of the radio fading channel by unsing the transmitting and received signal. By taking the inverse of the characteristic of the modeled filter, it is possible to improvement of the communication system by reducing the distortion and inter-symbol interference which occurs in the channel.
