길이방향으로 이동하고 장력을 가진 보의 경계제어를 통한 지수안정화 (Exponential Stabilization of an Axially Translating Tensioned Beam by Boundary Control Together with a Passive Damper)

  • An active control of the lateral vibration of a translating tensioned Euler-Bemoulli beam is investigated. The dynamics of the translating tensioned beam is represented by a non-linear hyperbolic partial differential equation. A right boundary control law based upon the Lyapunov's second method is derived. The transverse motion of the translating tensioned beam is controlled by a time-varying external force besides a passive damping applied at the right boundary. Exponential stability of the closed loop system is proved. Simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed controller.

만족가능성 처리기를 이용한 이진 변수 서브시퀀스 추출 (Extracting Subsequence of Boolean Variables using SAT-solver)

  • 최근 정형 검증 분야에서 상태 폭발 문제를 극복하기 위해 만족가능성(Satisfiability) 처리기를 사용하는 방법이 많이 연구되고 있다. 만족가능성 처리기를 사용하려면 대상을 CNF 식으로 변환해야 하는데, 이진 기수 제약 조건은 시스템을 CNF 식으로 변환하기 위해 많이 사용되는 기법이다. 그러나 이진 기수 제약 조건은 이진 변수들의 집합을 다루기 때문에 이진 변수들의 순서 정보는 변환할 수 없었다. 본 논문에서는 이진 변수의 시퀀스에서 길이가 k인 서브시퀀스 추출 문제에 대한 CNF 변환 방법을 제안한다. 또한 실험을 통해 제안된 방법이 순서정보를 고려치 않고 적용한 변환 방법보다 훨씬 더 좋은 결과를 얻을 수 있었다.

Boundary Control of an Axially Moving Belt System in a Thin-Metal Production Line

  • In this paper, an active vibration control of a translating steel strip in a zinc galvanizing line is investigated. The control objectives in the galvanizing line are to improve the uniformity of the zinc deposit on the strip surfaces and to reduce the zinc consumption. The translating steel strip is modeled as a moving belt equation by using Hamilton’s principle for systems with moving mass. The total mechanical energy of the strip is considered to be a Lyapunov function candidate. A nonlinear boundary control law that assures the exponential stability of the closed loop system is derived. The existence of a closed-loop solution is shown by proving that the closed-loop dynamics is dissipative. Simulation results are provided.

  • At shipyards, to enable design cooperation with engineering companies or to meet ship owner's requirements, there is a need to translate ship models from one ship CAD system to another ship CAD system. In this paper, a method for translating pipe models from Aveva Marine to SmartMarine3D is introduced. Related data and architecture of translation system are addressed and specific details to be considered during translation are explained. The introduced method has been implemented and tested in a shipyard.

파랑중 계류된 선박의 표류감쇠에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Wave Drift Damping of a Moored Ship in Waves)

  • As the offshore oil fields are moved to the deep ocean, the oil production system of FPSO(Floating Production Storage and Offloading System) Type are constructed frequently these days. So, it is very important to estimate the drift motion and damping effects due to the drift motion simultaneously. The components of slow drift motion damping consist of viscous, wave radiation effect and wave drift damping. It is needed to estimate the wave drift damping more accurately than others. The wave drift damping signifies the time-rate of mean wave drift force on oscillating ship or ocean structure which constant speed. In order to calculate this, the 3-Dimensional panel method is employed with the translating and pulsating Green function in the frequency domain. The calculation is carried out for a Series 60 ($C_B$/=0.7) and the results are compared with other numerical ones.

이동부하를 가지고 병진운동하는 유연보의 운동 해석 (Motion analysis of a Translating Flexible Beam Carrying a Moving Mass)

  • In this paper, the vibrational motion of a flexible beam clamped on a translating base and carrying a moving mass is investigated. The equations of motion which describe the total dynamics of the beam-mass-cart system are derived and the coupled dynamic equations are solved by unconstrained modal analysis. In modal analysis, the exact normal mode solutions corresponding to the eigenfrequencies for the position of the moving mass and the ratios of the mass of the flexible beam, the moving mass and the base cart are used. Proper transformations of the time solutions between the normal modes for a position and those for the next position of the moving mass are also adopted. Numerical simulations are carried out to obtain the open-loop responses of the system in tracking the pre-designed path of the moving mass.

Diagrammatic Formalism for Complex Systems: More than One Way to Eventize a Railcar System

  • This paper is in the intersection of software engineering and system engineering, two intimately intertwined disciplines. A dominating theme in this paper is the integral conceptualization of systems at large, as well as an underlying concern with software systems. In the software development life cycle, challenges still exist in translating requirements into a design artifact and then into an implementation (e.g., coding), then validating the results. From our perspective, software engineering requires an integrating paradigm toward a unified modeling orientation. Many methodologies, languages, and tools exist for facilitating system development processes. This paper is a venture into project development. To focus the materials, we concentrate on Harel's novel (and classic) development environment, which integrates a scenario-based engineering object orientation and statecharts through developing a railcar system. The railcar system is used as a detailed sample of translating requirements into a design artifact and then into an implementation, then validating the result. The project is re-cased as a single integrated modeling endeavor to be contrasted with the scenario and statecharts' development. The result of this scheme is an enriched understanding through experimenting with and contrasting various development methods of software projects.

키넥트의 모션 인식 기능을 이용한 수화번역 시스템 개발 (Development of Sign Language Translation System using Motion Recognition of Kinect)

  • 청각, 언어장애인과 수화를 모르는 일반인과의 대화를 위해, 키넥트를 이용한 모션 인식을 통해 수화를 번역하여 주는 시스템을 개발하였다. 키넥트의 주요기능을 이용하여 수화를 번역하는 알고리즘들을 설계하고, 다양한 수화자에 대한 수화번역의 정확도를 높이기 위한 방법으로서 길이정규화와 팔꿈치정규화의 두 가지 정규화 방법을 사용하였다. 그리고 이러한 정규화 방법이 효과적인지 알아보기 위해서 실제 수화데이터를 차트로 비교하였다. 또한 10개의 데이터베이스를 입력하여 간단한 수화부터 복잡한 수화까지 직접 실시하고, 이를 키넥트로 인식하여 번역을 해봄으로서 프로그램의 정확도를 검증하였다. 추가적으로 다양한 체형의 수화자를 인식시켜 프로그램을 실행 시켜봄으로서 체형에 따른 오차 값의 보완을 완료하여 수화번역에 대한 신뢰도를 높였다.

대화체 문장 번역을 위한 토큰기반 변환중심 한일 기계번역 (A Token Based Transfer Driven Koran -Japanese Machine Translation for Translating the Spoken Sentences)

  • 본 논문에서는 음성언어 자동 통역시스템의 일부 모듈로 구현한 한일 기계번역 시스템을 소개하였다. 이 번역시스템은 예제중심 기계번역(EBMT)에 기초를 둔 변환중심 기계번역(TDMT) 방법을 기반으로 구현하였다. 본 시스템에서는 토큰(TOKEN)이라는 새로운 번역단위를 정의하여 사용하였다. 토큰단위의 번역방법을 사용함으로써 한국어 문장의 매우 비 정형적인 점을 해결하고 번역의 질을 높일 수 있다. 본 시스템의 구문분석 단계에서는 대역어를 선정하기에 적합한 정도까지의 의존트리를 생성하는 간이파싱만을 함으로써 필요없는 노력을 경감시켰다. 대역어 사전은 한국전자통신 연구원이 수집한 음성 데이터베이스로부터 추출한 말뭉치를 사용해 구성하였다. 구현한 시스템은 여행 계획영역에서 수집된 600 발화 안의 문장을 대상으로 시험하였는데 제한된 환경에서 87%, 아무런 제약이 없는 환경에서는 71%의 성공률을 보였다.

Boundary Control of Axially Moving Continua: Application to a Zinc Galvanizing Line

  • In this paper, an active vibration control of a tensioned, elastic, axially moving string is investigated. The dynamics of the translating string are described with a non-linear partial differential equation coupled with an ordinary differential equation. A right boundary control to suppress the transverse vibrations of the translating continuum is proposed. The control law is derived via the Lyapunov second method. The exponential stability of the closed-loop system is verified. The effectiveness of the proposed control law is simulated.
