유한요소법에 의한 초전도교류 발전기의 과도 특성 해석 (Finite Element Analysis of the Transient Characteristics of a Superconducting A.C. Generator)

  • This paper deals with the analysis of the transient characteristics of a superconducting a.c. generator(SCG) using Finite Element Method. Since the magnetic field induced by the field current and the armature currents are not sinusoidally distributed in a generator, the conventional equivalent circuit method, in general, uses the fundamental component only and is done in frequency domain. But the finite element analysis makes it possible to analyze the transient magnetic field distribution and the electrical characteristics of the double shields of SCG in time domain.

  • The performance of the powertrain can be analyzed using dynamic models including transient characteristics, and the equations of motion can also be derived from the dynamic models of the powertrain. In this study, the shift transient characteristics of the vehicle equipped with Ravigneaux type planetary gears automatic transmission has been investigated.

  • 본 논문은 석유시추선의 전력 계통 시스템의 비상시 전력 계통 해석에 대하여 기술하였다. 특히 석유시추선의 추진부하와 발전기의 탈락으로 인해 발생하는 전력계통 시스템에 미치는 영향을 검토하였다. 또한 고정 여자방식과 조속기의 제어 변수를 조정하여 임의의 사고 전후 정상상태로의 복귀까지 과도 안정도 해석으로 전력계통에 나타나는 현상을 관찰하였다. 전력계통 설계와 해석 및 과도 현상해석 프로그램인 ETAP(Electrical Transient Analysis Program)을 사용하였으며, 수치해석의 결과를 도출하여 그 특성을 분석하였다.

  • Thermal mass flow meters (TMFMs) are most widely used for measuring mass flow rates in the semiconductor industry. A TMFM should have a short response time in order to measure the time-varying flow rate rapidly and accurately. Therefore it is important to study transient heat transfer phenomena in the sensor tube of a TMFM that is the most critical part in the TMFM. In the present work, a simple numerical model for transient heat transfer phenomena of the sensor tube of a TMFM is presented. Numerical solutions for the tube and fluid temperatures in a transient state are obtained using the proposed model and compared with experimental results to validate the proposed model. Based on numerical solutions, heat transfer mechanism in a transient state in the sensor tube is explained. Finally, a correlation for predicting the response time of a sensor tube is presented. The correlation is verified by experimental results.

  • In this paper, the analysis of the shift transient characteristics for the Ravigneaux type automatic transmission has been carried out using dynamic models of the automatic trnasmission. It is necessary to understand the overall system including multi-plate clutch, band brake, one way clutch, and planetary gears. The equations of motion are derived from the dynamic models of the automatic transmission. The GUI computer simulation program has been developed to analyze the shift transient characteristics of the vehicle equipped with the Ravigneaux type automatic transmission.

  • Load sharing in distributed systems improves systems performance. Research in the field has been focused on steady state performance for load sharing algorithms. However, transient characteristics of such algorithms may be important in a distributed system in which workload for some node is changing. Simulation is the only means to analyze such characteristics. This paper presents a simulation-based analysis of the transient characteristics of four load sharing algorithms ; forward probing, reverse probing, symmetric probing, and multi-threshold symmetric probing algorithms. Discrete event system models for execution of the algorithms in a distributed system has been developed in a SIMSCRIOT II.5 environment. Simulation results indicate that the MSYM algorithm shows the shortest response time in the transient period.

  • This paper describes the performance improvement of transient response and the modeling of small aircraft onboard generator. As the characteristics of the stator coil which are a major parameters of transient response were improved, the characteristics of transient response could be increased, therefore, the improved generator can be satisfied with large and fast load changes. Established the control model of the generator, it could be possible to do the analysis of generator performance, and improve the operational stability of the generator system using the control model.

  • Dynamic characteristics of the bell-type structure including acoustic effects and transient dynamic problems were analyzed numerically. Natural frequencies, mode shapes and transient dynamic analysis used the finite element method with 3-D general shell element. Mode shapes and stress distributions of transient dynamic analysis were expressed by computer graphics. The method using this study was evaluated by comparision of theoretical results at reference papers(14), (15) and the experimental test using Fast Fourier Transform analyzer. Vibrational modes governing acoustic characteristics of the typical bell-type structure depended on the first flexural mode(4-0 mode) and the second flexural mode(6-0 mode). Asymmetric effects by Dangiwas, acoustic holes gave rise to beat frequencies, and the Dangjwa was found to be most effective. When impact load acted on the bell, stress concentration occured at the rim part of bell. It was found that the bell type structure should be designed thickly at the rim part in order to prevent impact load from stress concentration.

  • Multi-packet blade systems usually undergo multiple nozzle excitations during operation. For the design of multi-packet blade systems undergoing multiple nozzle excitations, transient characteristics around an operating frequency and resonance frequencies should be identified. In this study the equations of motion of multi-packet blade systems undergoes multiple nozzle excitations are derived. The reliability of the derived equations is verified by obtaining responses at resonance frequencies. Then, using the model, the effects of system parameters on the transient characteristics of the system are investigated.

  • In this study, in order to investigate the effects of wall roughness on the hydraulic characteristics of chlorine contactor, CFD simulation and tracer tests were conducted for both of reactors whose walls are made of concrete and lined with PE(Poly Ethylene). In the case of walls contacted with water being lined with PE (relatively lower roughness), the flow within reactor is closer to plug flow than that in the case of concrete walls (relatively higher roughness). Especially, the longer tail of C-curve from the results of transient CFD simulation can tell that Morill index in the case concrete walls is much higher than that in the case of walls be lined with lower roughness material.
