In this paper, it has been analysed that the stability and the effectivity of the solution using traditional transfer matrix method. And applying the false-position method to these, the convergence characteristics of the solution has been also analysed. As a result, the frontal transfer matrix method is superior to traditional transfer matrix method in the stability and the accuracy of the solution in high frequency region but in the economical efficiency and the effectivity of the calculation, traditional transfer matrix method is more desiable. Also, it is clear that $\omega-Det$ curve using the frontal transfer matrix method is discontinuous.
This paper provides a numerical solution for multiple confocal elliptic dissimilar cylinders. In the problem, the inner elliptic notch is under the traction free condition. The medium is composed of many confocal elliptic dissimilar cylinders. The transfer matrix method is used to study the continuity condition for the stress and displacement along the interfaces. Two cases, or the infinite matrix case and the finite matrix case, are studied in this paper. In the former case, the remote tension is applied in y- direction. In the latter case, the normal loading is applied along the exterior elliptic contour. For two cases, several numerical results are provided.

A novel Genetic Algorithm(GA)-based method is suggested to transform a coupling matrix to another, without the procedure of Matrix Rotation. This can remove tedious work like pivoting and deciding rotation angles needed for each of the iterations. The error function for the GA is simply formed and used as part of error minimization for obtaining the solution. An 8th order dual-mode elliptic integral function response filter is taken as an example to validate the present method.
This paper presents an approach for the derivation of frequency-dependent element matrices for vibration analysis of piping systems containing a moving medium. The dynamic stiffness matrix is deduced from transfer matrix, and, in turn, the frequency-dependent element matrices are derived. Numerical examples show that method gives more accurate results than those obtained using the conventional static shape function based element matrices.

This paper present an analysis method of crankshaft of four cylinder internal combustion engine for studying dynamic characteristics of the shaft. For simple analysis, uniform sections of journal, pin and arm parts were assumed. Transfer Matrix Method was used, considering branched part and coordinate transformation part. Natural frequencies, natural modes and transfer functions of crank shaft were investigated based upon the Timosenko beam theory: It was shown that the calculated natural frequencies, modeshapes agree well with the experimental results.
This describes the formulation for the free vibration of joined conical-cylindrical shells with uniform thickness using the transfer of influence coefficient. This method was developed based on successive transmission of dynamic influence coefficients, which were defined as the relationships between the displacement and the force vectors at arbitrary nodal circles of the system. The two edges of the shell having arbitrary boundary conditions are supported by several elastic springs with meridional/axial, circumferential, radial and rotational stiffness, respectively. The governing equations of vibration of a conical shell, including a cylindrical shell, are written as a coupled set of first order differential equations by using the transfer matrix of the shell. Once the transfer matrix of a single component has been determined, the entire structure matrix is obtained by the product of each component matrix and the joining matrix. The natural frequencies and the modes of vibration were calculated numerically for joined conical-cylindrical shells. The validity of the present method is demonstrated through simple numerical examples, and through comparison with the results of previous researchers.
The output of Stirling engine is influenced by the regenerator effectiveness. The regenerator effectiveness is influenced by heat transfer and flow friction loss of the regenerator matrix. In this paper, in order to provide a basic data for the design of regenerator matrix, characteristics of heat transfer and flow friction loss were investigated by a packed method of matrix in the oscillating flow as the same condition of operation in a Stirling engine. As matrices, several kinds of combined wire screen meshes were used. The results are summarized as follows; The packed meshes with high mesh no. in the side of heater part of regenerator showed effective than the packed meshes with low mesh no. in the side of cooler part of regenerator. The temperature difference and pressure drop of the regenerator were not made by the specific surface area of wire screen meshes but by the minimum free-flow area to the total frontal area. Among the No. 150 single screen meshes, 200-60 combined meshes, the 200-150-100 combined meshes showed the highest in effectiveness.

In this paper, characteristics of wireless power transfer (WPT) systems using magnetically coupled resonance scheme with relay coils are investigated and modeled. Especially, asymmetric frequency splitting characteristics in over-coupled region of WPT with relays are measured and accurately modeled. Transmitter, receiver, and relay coils are modeled with R, L, C equivalent circuits. Using these circuit models and mutual inductances between coils, a WPT system is described with a linear matrix equation. For under-coupled region, a matrix is simplified considering only mutual inductances between adjacent coils. An analytical transfer characteristic of WPT system vs. distance is extracted using an inverse matrix that is acquired by Gauss elimination method for the simplified matrix. For over-coupled region, a matrix considering mutual inductances between non-adjacent coils is used to predict a frequency splitting characteristics accurately. A 6.3MHz WPT system with relay coils is implemented and measured. An accuracy of the model is investigated by comparing the output of the model with the measured results.
When Timoshenko arcs considering the shear deformation and rotatory inertia have elastic supports, the authors analyze in-plane free vibration of them by the transfer influence coefficient method. This method finds the natural frequencies of them using the transfer of influence coefficient after obtaining the transfer matrix of arc element from numerical integration of the differential equations governing the vibration of arc. In this study, two computer programs were made by the transfer influence coefficient method and the transfer matrix method for analyzing free vibration of Timoshenko arcs. From numerical results of four computational models, we confirmed that the transfer influence coefficient method is a reliable method when analyzing the free vibration of Timoshenko arcs. In particular, the transfer influence coefficient method is a effective method when analyzing the free vibration of arcs with rigid supports.
This paper presents a general analytical method for analyzing the instability of unbalanced electromagnetic forces produced in induction motors with an eccentric rotor. The equations to be solved are a set of second order differential equations which give matrices with periodic coefficients that are a function of time due to the unbalanced electromagnetic force. The method is based on an extension of the Floquet theory. A transfer matrix over one period of the motion is obtained. and the stability of the system can be determined with the eigenvalues of the matrix. The analysis results of instability zone were coincided upon comparing that of transfer matrix method with that of rotating frame. Two examples are given. including an industrial application. The results show that the method proposed is satisfactory.
