  • For the analog output buffer in the data driver for large size and high resolution TFT-LCDs, we proposed operational amplifier (op-amp) which contains newly developed transconductance-boosted input stage which enables the low-power consumption and the high slew-rate. The slew-rate and the quiescent current of the proposed op-amp are $6.1V/{\mu}sec$ and $8{\mu}A$, respectively.

  • A circuit building block for realizing a continuous-time active-only current-mode integrator is presented. The proposed integrator is composed only of internally compensated type operational amplifier (OA) and operational transconductance amplifiers (OTAs). The integrator is suitable for integrated circuit implementation in either bipolar or CMOS technologies, since it does not require any external passive elements. Moreover, the integrator gain can be tuned through the transconductance gains of the OTAs. Some application examples in the realization of current-mode network functions using the proposed current-mode integrator as an active element are also given.

  • A saw-tooth waveform generator whose frequency can be controlled with a do bias current is proposed. The generator utilizes operational transconductance amplifiers (OTA's) as switching element. It features simple and wide sweep capability The circuit built with commercially avaliable components exhibits good linearity of current-to-frequency transfer characteristics and relatively low temperature sensitivity.

  • In this paper, we developed the W-band MMIC low noise amplifier for the millimeter-wave seeker using the tuner system. The MHEMT devices for MMIC LNA exhibited DC characteristics with a drain current density of 692mA/mm, an extrinsic transconductance of 726mS/mm. The current gain cutoff frequency(fT) and maximum oscillation frequency($f_{max}$) were 195GHz and 305GHz, respectively. The fabricated W-band low noise amplifier represented S21 gain of 7.42dB at 94 GHz and noise figure of 2.8dB at 94.2 GHz.

  • In this paper, a 1.5 V high-gain high-frequency CMOS complementary operational amplifier is presented. The input stage of op-amp is designed for supporting the constant transconductance on the Input stage by consisting of the parallel-connected rail-to-rail complementary differential pairs. And consisting of the class-AB rail-to-rail output stage using the concept of elementary shunt stage and the grounded-gate cascode compensation technique for improving the low PSRR which was a disadvantage in the general CMOS complementary input stage, the load dependence of open loop gain and the stability of op- amp on the output load are improved, and the high-gain high-frequency operation can be achieved. The designed op-amp operates perfectly on the complementary mode with the 180° phase conversion for a 1.5 V supply voltage, and shows the DC open loop gain of 84 dB, the phase margin of 65°, and the unity gain frequency of 20 MHz. In addition, the amplifier shows the 0.1 % settling time of .179 ㎲ for the positive step and 0.154 ㎲ for the negative step on the 100 mV small-signal step, respectively, and shows the total power dissipation of 8.93 mW.

  • In this paper, a unified potentiostat which can measure the current of both $O_2$-based and $H_2O_2$-based blood glucose sensors with low supply voltage of 1.0V has been designed and verified by simulations and measurements. Potentiostat is composed of low-voltage operational transconductance amplifier, cascode current mirrors and mode-selection circuits. It can measure currents of blood glucose chemical reactions occurred by $O_2$ or $H_2O_2$. The body of PMOS input differentional stage of the operational transconductance amplifier is forward-biased to reduce the threshold voltage for low supply voltage operation. Also, cascode current mirror is used to reduce current measurement error generated by channel length modulation effects. The proposed low-voltage potentiostat is designed and simulated using Cadence SPECTRE and fabricated in Magnachip 0.18um CMOS technology with chip size of $110{\mu}m{\times}60{\mu}m$. The measurement results show that consumption current is maximum $46{\mu}A$ at supply voltage of 1.0V. Using the persian potassium($K_3Fe(CN)_6$) equivalent to glucose, the operation of the fabricated potentiostat was confirmed.

  • A low-voltage high-linear bipolar OTA and its application to IF bandpass filter for GSM cellular telephone are presented. The OTA consists of a low-voltage linear transconductor, a translinear current gain cell, and three current mirrors. The bandpass filter is composed of two cascaded identical second-order bandpass filters, which consist of a resistor, a capacitor, and a grounded simulated inductor realized with two OTA's and a grounded capacitor. SPICE simulations using an 8 GHz bipolar transistor-array parameter show that the OTA with a transconductance of 1 mS exhibits a linearity error of less than ${\pm}2%$ over an input voltage range of ${\pm}0.65\;V$ at supply voltages of ${\pm}2.0\;V$. Temperature coefficient of the transconductance is less than $-90ppm/^{\circ}C$. The bandpass filter has a center frequency of 85 MHz and Q-factor of 80. Temperature coefficient of the center frequency is less than $-182ppm/^{\circ}C$. The power dissipation of the filter is 128 mW.

  • This paper presents a novel circuit configuration for realizing the continuous-time active-only voltage-mode integrator. The proposed integrator consists only of internally compensated type operational amplifier (OA) and operational transconductance amplifiers (OTAs). Since no external passive elements are required, the integrator is suitable for integrated circuit implementation in either bipolar or CMOS technologies. Moreover, the integrator gain can be electronically tuned by adjusting the bias currents of the OTAs. The characteristics of the proposed integrator and the effectiveness of the design procedure in realizing various analog transfer functions have been examined by PSPICE simulation.

  • A new interface circuit for variable resistive sensors is proposed. The interface circuit compose of only two strain gages, a voltage-to-current converter, and current mirror with two outputs. A new dual slope A/D converter based on linear operational transconductance amplifier for the testing of prototype interface circuit is also described. The theory of operation is presented and experimental results are used to verify the theoretical predictions. The results show close agreement between predicted behaviour and experimental performance.
