차상중심 열차제어시스템 실용화를 위한 트램 우선신호 전략 연구 (A Study on a Tram Signal Priority Strategy for Commercialization of the On-Board Oriented Train Control System)

  • For efficient and economical train operation in low-density railway line, on-board oriented train control system, which reduces expensive wayside equipment, is being developed. In this paper, we discuss a tram signal priority strategy which enables efficient and safe train operation when the developing system is applied to train-tram railway environment. Based on the well-known transit signal priority strategies, we develop a tram signal priority algorithm and conduct simulations by using model-based systems engineering (MBSE) tool. Various considerations such as operation procedure, linkage to existing road traffic system, applicability with respect to crossroad types, and so on, are also dealt with.

  • 본 논문은 트램-트레인 추진용 130kW급 IPMSM 설계에 관한 연구이다. 트램-트레인은 속도 가변 영역이 넓은 특성을 가지고 있다. 그러한 이유로 넓은 속도 가변 특성을 갖는 IPMSM으로 트램-트레인 추진용 전동기로 제안하고, 요구 견인력에 적합한 기초 모델을 설계하였다. IPMSM은 회전자의 형상에 따라 전자기적 특성 및 구조 특성이 상이하게 된다. 따라서 추가적으로 영구자석을 분할하여 Bridge를 추가한 형상으로 변경한 제안 모델도 설계하였다. 기초 모델과 제안 모델을 유한요소해석을 통해 부하 특성 및 구조 특성을 분석하여 최종적으로 트램-트레인 추진용 IPMSM에 만족하는 모델을 도출하였다.

  • KRRI (Korea Railroad Research Institute) is developing a bimodal tram since the 2003s. The vehicle will be used in the public transportation system. The bimodal tram has the advantages of both bus and train. Bus system has the advantages of flexibility of the routes delivering passengers to the destination and easy accessibility. Train is to meet the scheduled arrival and massive public transportations. The vehicle is the rubber tired tram and is all wheel steered single articulation. The propulsion system is configured by CNG hybrid system. The length of the vehicle is 18m. The vehicle lanes will be marked with permanent magnets that are buried in the road. The vehicle can be automatically operated by navigation control system (NCS). In this paper, we introduce the driving system of the bimodal tram which is developed by KRRI.

  • The Bimodal tram is developed in KRRI (Korea Railroad Research Institute). This vehicle will be used in the public transportation system. 듀얼 레일 형상에 적합한 철도차량의 차륜 형상 설계 (Design of Railway Vehicle Wheel Profile Suitable for Dual-rail Profile)

  • When a wheel profile of a train-tram is designed, both train and tram tracks should be considered. This study designed a wheel profile that enables high-speed driving(200km/h) on the train track and low speed driving on the tram track with multiple sharp curves. The study used the approximation optimization method to reduce cost and time, used the sequential quadratic programming method as the optimized algorithm, and the central composite design and response surface method as an approximate model. The optimized wheel shape based on this approximation optimization method reduced wear of the initial wheel showed a better performance in terms of derailment and lateral force.

  • In order to understand phenomenon of the electric railway power feeding system in the construction planning step, analysis of the overall system including electric characteristic of electric railway power feeding system, train running characteristic and power consumption pattern and train operation plan and gradients of railroad and curve radius is required. This paper study the feeder system by analysis of comprehensive system according to train operation plans, line impedance, running characteristic of train, electrical properties of the feeder system. In order to understand phenomenon to the feeder system of tram exactly regarding export of the field railroad preceeding actively recently.

  • One of the rolling stocks, low floor tram is recognized as the important alternative to improve traffic and environmental problems. There are many advantages of tram transportation system. It has, especially, low construction costs and easy accessibility. Trams operate with vehicles on roadways. The bogie configuration including traction motor of tramcar is different from that of conventional electric trains because tram has lower floor than train. In these reasons, the traction motors of tramcar are exposed to dusts, water and so on. Therefore, motors are designed by totally enclosed type. In this paper, we explain the design and test of totally enclosed traction motor for tramcar. Characteristic tests and temperature-rising tests were carried out in order to predict the performance of motor and the maximum temperature of coil.

  • Bimodal tram is a transit with no-step floor for wheel-chaired persons, with docking to the station precisely and moving on schedule like train. Because of the automatic traveling of bimodal tram to search and follow the magnet embedded in roadway, bimodal tram should be careful about rainfall, snow and wind like a car driving on roadway in respect to natural disasters. Though response procedures in emergency are different according to the passengers' boarding, emergency mobilization is needed if any emergency situation happens. Emergency mobilization is the act of preparing for major catastrophic events, which may affect public transportation systems or their service areas, by assembling and organizing resources, including people, equipment, facilities, communications systems, expert technical support, and public information systems and protocols. Mobilization is the process that ensures that the right people will deploy appropriate resources at the correct time. Effective mobilization requires a partnership of local and state agencies. Public transportation operators and systems play vital roles in response to and recovery from emergencies and other unexpected catastrophic events. These systems, and their capabilities to mobilize resources, are profoundly affected by the decisions and directives of others during these activities. In this study, we focused on the emergency management for bimodal tram and reviewed the considerations about infrastructures under natural disasters, especially heavy rainfall.

  • A number of variables and environment are concerned for the basic design of train. The design of train ran be optimized by the ruining simulation. And using the simulation result the consuming energy, regenerating power, adhesion coefficient, train traction control capacity are respectable. Considering these variables and for more information operating time, operating period, standard velocity and limit speed, the all factors of train are optimized. The light-tail tram is mainly divided into linear motor train, road surface train, iron wheel train and rubber tire train, and the most profitable one for adhesion coefficient is rubber tire train and the train will be designed.
