The moving of each axis in the robot manipulator can be represented with the motion of cartesian space. This paper shows the robot manipulator of the straight line trajectory planning algorithms in the cartesian space. The relation formulas between cartesian space and joint space are induced to accomplish a desired trajectory in the cartesian space and the velocity vector of sampling time in the cartesian space is transformed into the velocity vector of joint by the interpolation method. The error of trajectory in moving is removed by obtaining the real position for the present joint position and the desired distance is made by comparing the real position and the next position. Through the simple tests for suggested algorithms are confirmed the validity of algorithms.
This paper is concerned with the generation of a balancing trajectory for improving the walking performance. The balancing motion has been determined by solving a second -order differential equation. However, this method caused some difficulties in linearizing and approximating the equation and had restrictions on using various balancing trajectories. The proposed difficulties in linearizing and approximating the equation and had restrictions on using various balancing trajectories. The proposed method i this paper is based on the genetic algorithm for minimizing the motins of balancing joints, whose trajectories are generated by the fifth-order polynomial interpolation after planning leg trajectories. The real walking experiments are made on the biped robot IWR-III, developed by our Automatic Control Laboratory. The system has 8 degrees of freedom and the structure of three pitches in each leg, and one roll and one prismatic joint in the balancing joints. The experimental result shows the validity and applicability of the new proposed algorithm.
This paper presents a new robot trajectory generation method based on the curvatre theory of ruled surfacees. robot trajectory is represented as a ruled surface generated by the TCP (Tool center point ) and any one unit vector among the tool frame (usually denoted O, A,N). The curvature theory of ruled surfaces provides the robot control algorithm with the motion property oarameters. The proposed method eliminates the necessity of approximation technic of either joint or cartesian interpolation. This technic may give new methodology of precision robot control. Especially this is very efficient when the robot traces an analytical or form surface if the surface is geometrically modelled.
This paper aims to generate the static walking pattern of a biped robot on stairs and to show the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm using its ankle and pelvis. Differently from the previous biped robots, our biped robot has the peculiar mechanism on its ankle and pelvis. By using this mechanism, we can reduce the load in the knee when a biped robot ascends the stairs. This means that a biped robot can climb up a higher step. The stairs walking trajectory that is separated into a ankle trajectory and a pelvis trajectory is generated by cubic spline interpolation. Finally, we confirm the feasibility of the proposed algorithm through the computer simulation and the real walking experiment.
In this paper, prediction of separation trajectory for Two-stage-To-Orbit space launch vehicle has been numerically simulated by using an aerodynamic database based on steady state analysis. Aerodynamic database were obtained for matrix of longitudinal and vertical positions. The steady flow simulations around the launch vehicle have been made by using a 3-D RANS flow solver based on unstructured meshes. For this purpose, a vertex-centered finite-volume method was adopted to discretize inviscid and viscous fluxes. Roe's finite difference splitting was utilized to discretize the inviscid fluxes, and the viscous fluxes were computed based on central differencing. To validate this flow solver, calculations were made for the wind-tunnel experiment model of the LGBB TSTO vehicle configuration on steady state conditions. Aerodynamic database was constructed by using flow simulations based on test matrix from the wind-tunnel experiment. ANN(Artificial Neural Network) was applied to construct interpolation function among aerodynamic variables. Separation trajectory for TSTO launch vehicle was predicted from 6-DOF equation of motion based on the interpolated function. The result of present separation trajectory calculation was compared with the trajectory using experimental database. The predicted results for the separation trajectory shows fair agreement with reference[4] solution.

This paper examines finite rotation angle (FRA) applications for spacecraft attitude control. The coordinate transformation matrix and the attitude kinematics represented by FRAs are introduced. The interpolation techniques for the angular orientations are thoroughly investigated using the FRAs and the results are compared to those using traditional methods. The paper proposes trajectory description techniques by using extremely smooth polynomial functions of time, which can describe point-to-point attitude maneuvers in a realizable and accurate manner with the help of unique FRA features. In addition, new controller design techniques using the FRAs are developed by combining the proposed interpolation techniques with a model predictive control framework. The proposed techniques are validated through their attitude control applications for an aggressive point-to-point maneuver. Conclusively, the FRAs provide much more flexibility than quaternions and Euler angles when describing kinematics, generating trajectories, and designing attitude controllers for spacecraft.

The objective of this work is to design a low cost yet fully functional 4-DOF articulate manipulator for educational applications. The design is based on general purpose, programmable smart servo motors namely the Dynamixel Ax-12. The mechanism for motion was developed by formulating the equations of kinematics and subsequent solutions for joint space variables. The trajectory of end-effector in joint variable space was determined by interpolation of a 3rd order polynomial. The solutions were verified through computer simulations and ultimately implemented on the hardware. Owing to the feedback from the built-in sensors, it is possible to correct the positioning error due to loading effects. The proposed solution offers an efficient and cost-effective platform to study the trajectory planning as well as dynamics of the manipulator.
This paper proposes a center of plantar foot pressure (CoP) trajectory estimation method based on Gaussian process regression, with the aim to show robust results regardless of the regions and numbers of FSRs of the insole sensor. This method can bring an interpolation between the measurement points inside the wearable insole sensor, and two experiments are conducted for performance evaluation. For this purpose, the input data used in the experiment are generated in three types (13 FSRs, 8 FSRs, 5 FSRs) according to the regions and numbers of FSRs. First, the estimation results of the CoP trajectory are compared using Gaussian process regression and weighted mean. As a result of each method, the estimation results of the two methods were similar in the case of 13 FSRs data. On the other hand, in the case of the 8 and 5 FSRs data, the weighted mean varies depending on the regions and numbers of FSRs, but the estimation results of Gaussian process regression showed similar results in spite of reducing the regions and numbers. Second, the estimation results of the CoP trajectory based on Gaussian process regression during several gait cycles are analyzed. In five gait cycles, the previous cycle and the current estimation results are compared, and it was confirmed that similar trajectories appeared in all. In this way, the method of estimating the CoP trajectory based on Gaussian process regression showed robust results, and stability was confirmed by yielding similar results in several gait cycles.
Approximation of a Cartesian straight line motion with linear interpolation in the joint space has many desirable advantages and applications. But inappropriate determination of the corresponding subtravelling and transition times makes such joint-trajectories violate the input torque/force constraints. An approach that can overcome this difficult and yield the joint trajectories utilizing the allowable maximum input torque/force is established in this paper. The effectiveness of these results is demonstrated by using a three-joint revolute manipulator.
