Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate factors affecting trait anger level in undergraduate students. Methods: The participants consisted of 315 undergraduate students at the universities in the P and D cities. Data were collected with a structured questionnaire and analyzed using descriptive analysis, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficients, and multiple stepwise regression with the SPSS/Win 20.0 program. Results: The low trait anger group showed lower levels of anger-out, anger-in and depression compared to the high trait anger group. The anger-control and positive thinking were higher in the low trait anger group than that of high trait anger group. The result of multiple stepwise regression showed that both depression and anger-out were predictors in trait anger in the both groups. In the low trait anger group, anger-control, anger-in, depression, and anger-out were significant factors of trait anger, which accounted for 31% of the total variance. High trait anger level was affected by depression, anger-out and positive thinking, which explained 40% of trait anger. Conclusion: The results of this study suggest that anger management program for undergraduate students should consider trait anger level as well as approaches with customized strategies according to trait anger level.
This study examined young children's beliefs about trait stability based on trait type and valence. Participants included 120 children (40 three-year-olds, 40 four-year-olds, and 40 five-year olds) recruited from 3 day-care-centers and 1 kindergarten in Seoul and Kyung-Ki province. Results revealed that young children's understanding of traits differed based on trait type and valence. Children demonstrated a strong belief that social-intention traits are more stable and harder to change when compared to internal-state traits. Young children's beliefs on trait stability were also strongly influenced by trait valence. They believed that negative traits are more likely to change for the better while positive traits have greater stability and are less likely to change over time.
The purpose of this study was to understand the influence of personality trait information on young children's perception of initial attraction in peer relationships. The sample consisted of 90 children of three to five years of age in South Korea. Children were presented with an inductive inference task where they had to make inference of a target character's preference on novel-play and prosocial act based on trait labels (smart-not smart, outgoing-shy, nice-mean) and perceptual (toy) similarity information of two test characters. Children showed difference in their use of trait information depending on the perceptual similarity information, trait valence, and inference question with age. This result provides initial support that not only do young children understand the significance of trait in peer attraction but also know when trait label is more informative to use to infer others depending on the situation.
This study was done to research the relationship between State-Trait Anxiety and Sexual activity of pregnant women. The subjects for this study were 200 pregnant women from 2 hospitals located in a urban area. The data was collected through questionnaires which was developed by Spielberger, from to, 1982. The content of the questionnaire consist of following 2 categories of Anxiety and Sexual activity; (1) State Anxiety, (2) Trait Anxiety and (3) Sexual activity included sexual drive, number of sexual intercourse, and length of sexual intercourse. Analysis of data was done by use percentage, T-test, x$^2$-test, ANOVA and pearson correlation coefficiency. The findings of this study are as follows: 1. The mean score of state Anxiety and Trait Anxiety of respondents were 43.06, 44.19, therefore Trait Anxiety was higher than state Anxiety. 2. A significant state Anxiety and Trait Anxiety were not found among general characteristics with age, education level and religion 3. In the analysis of correlation among state Anxiety, Trait anxiety and Sexual activity, the Trait Anxiety was positively correlated with the State Anxiety. (r=.3877, p=.000) It was support the fact that the higher level of Trait anxiety, the greater was the State anxiety. 4. And the state anxiety was negatively correlated with number of sexual intercourse. (r=-1518, p=.016) Therefore, the higher the state anxiety, the lower sexual activity. Or the lower sexual activity, the higher the State Anxiety. 5. Also, in the analysis of factors affecting sexual activity, only the variable of age showed a significant correlation to number of sexual intercounse. That is the younger, the higher number of sexual intercounse. (r=. -. 1380, p=.026).

Objective : The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between trait anxiety and positive psychological factors. Methods : A total of 429 outpatients diagnosed with depression and/or anxiety disorders surveyed with questionnaires measuring socio-demographic, clinical, and positive psychological factors. The relationships of trait anxiety with clinical symptoms and positive psychological factors were evaluated. Results : Patients with low trait anxiety showed high optimism, gratitude, hope, spirituality and purpose in life. After adjusting age, scores of BDI and STAI-S, the results showed low trait anxiety was associated with high spirituality and purpose in life. Conclusion : The result revealed that trait anxiety had negative-relationship with spirituality and purpose in life in patients with depressive and/or anxiety disorders. Although trait anxiety was known as a general tendency which is stable, approach to trait anxiety by modulating these associated positive psychological factors would be newer approach of treatment to patients with depressive and/or anxiety disorders.
This quantitative study was investigated to examine the relationship between severity of state-trait anxiety and disordered eating patterns in some university students. This study used a cross-sectional study design. Total 347 students participated in this study (88 male and 259 female) among three universities. The assessment of eating disorder was conducted by Eating Attitudes Test (EAT-26), a score of >or=20 identified individuals likely to have an eating disorder, including anorexia nervosa and bulimia nervosa. Scores of healthy dietary behaviors were obtained by self-assessment instrument on healthy diet scale(20-item questionnaire), and severity of state-trait anxiety was calculated by state-trait anxiety inventory(Total 40- item questionnaire). In groups for each state anxiety and trait anxiety, there were divided between 50 percentile point of cumulatived scores of state anxiety and trait anxiety in all subjects. Linear regression analysis showed overall significant difference between dietary patterns(anorexia nervosa and healthy dietary behaviors) and severity of state-trait anxiety in all sex. Our results indicated that severity of state-trait anxiety may marked eating disorder symptomatology on dimensions of eating disorder prevention.
As automated essay scoring (AES) has progressed from handcrafted techniques to deep learning, holistic scoring capabilities have merged. However, specific trait assessment remains a challenge because of the limited depth of earlier methods in modeling dual assessments for holistic and multi-trait tasks. To overcome this challenge, we explore providing comprehensive feedback while modeling the interconnections between holistic and trait representations. We introduce the DualBERT-Trans-CNN model, which combines transformer-based representations with a novel dual-scale bidirectional encoder representations from transformers (BERT) encoding approach at the document-level. By explicitly leveraging multi-trait representations in a multi-task learning (MTL) framework, our DualBERT-Trans-CNN emphasizes the interrelation between holistic and trait-based score predictions, aiming for improved accuracy. For validation, we conducted extensive tests on the ASAP++ and TOEFL11 datasets. Against models of the same MTL setting, ours showed a 2.0% increase in its holistic score. Additionally, compared with single-task learning (STL) models, ours demonstrated a 3.6% enhancement in average multi-trait performance on the ASAP++ dataset.
This study reports on the use of the trait and state cognitive/metacognitive strategy use and the difference of the trait/state strategy use according to students' proficiency level. First of all, for checking up the trait strategy use, 119 first-grade male students in a high school completed the questionnaire on strategies which they thought they used during a reading test. Secondly, to find out their state strategy use, students took a fifteen-item reading comprehension test, followed by filling out questionnaires on cognitive and metacognitive strategies used in the test. This study employed quantitative data analysis. The results suggested that (1) the cognitive and metacognitive strategy use in the trait and state conditions are used the most by the high proficiency group and they are correlated respectively; (2) these strategies are used with statistically significant difference according to students' proficiency level, especially to the lower level students. The highly successful group uses the cognitive and metacognitive strategy in the actual test situation more than the lower proficient group; there is no difference in trait and state strategy use.
Purpose: This study was conducted to investigate the differences in the characteristics of anger expression, positive thinking, gratitude, and trait anger, and factors affecting trait anger in college majors. Methods: The participants were 339 college students and recruited from two universities in P and D cities. Data were analyzed with descriptive analysis, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficients, and stepwise regression analysis using the SPSS/WIN 20.0 program. Results: There were significant differences in anger-in, anger-control, positive thinking, gratitude, and trait anger according to college majors. Moreover, anger-out was a significant factor of trait anger in all college majors. Positive thinking was a significant factor of trait anger in all college majors but natural sciences college. In terms of art, music and physical education college. Three subscales of anger expression and positive thinking were significant factors of trait anger in art music and physical education colleges majors. Conclusion: The finding of this study suggests strategies for promoting appropriate anger expression techniques and enhancing positive thinking of college students in order to decrease trait anger.
