Since the end of 1960s, an era of internationalization, Interculturalism has been reflected in intercultural plays which borrow concepts of foreign-cultural aesthetics for the performance and create a new stage language. Among many writers and performers, Oh, Tae-seok created his own unique aesthetic performances through experimental and avant-garde methodologies connected with various areas of art. His plays are worth studying since they suggest us a point of view which helps us to get out of the ordinary, fixed thought and try to see variety of reality. Therefore, our study categorized Oh, Tae-seok's play into four areas according to grotesquery interculturalism : Evil sprit, Abhorrence, Exaggeration and distort, and Heterogeneity. Based on this category, we analyzed plastic artistic characteristics of his plays' stage costume, for example, shapes, materials, and color, and tried to enhance the aesthetic value of his plays. We made a conclusion that the play showed grotesquery features in stage costume, which represented death, tragedy, evil sprit of human negligence, surprising and grotesquery abhorrence by deformity of the body, exaggeration and distortion, ridiculousness, and heterogeneity, the mixture of abnormality and unstableness. Our study could help produce adequate stage costume matching the features of the performance, and be the cornerstone of grotesquery aesthetic interculturalism study reflected in stage costume.

In this study, with the data of Human Capital Corporate Panel(HCCP) we find that the explaining power of the new hiring rate of experienced regular workers is very strong and statistically significant as a main causal factor to the decreasing trend of investment on education and training for workers in corporates, which means a sign of weakening of the internal labor market. Possibility of wage penalty from switching jobs has been weakened considerably too. The effective alternative policy measures to the weakening or laxity of the internal labor markets and whereby followed reduction in investment on education and training for workers in corporates are construction of social system outside of individual corporates to upbring field-tailored manpower of high quality for young generations and small and medium sized enterprises.

This study is about the experience of committing suicide's family and the purpose of study is to understand the essential structure of their life experience and to erect the grounded data for the restoration of committing suicide's families. The research was conducted by phenomenological case their family by suicide participated to study data were collected by in-depth interview. The authors interpreted the data in terms of Van-Menen's analysis framework. The result as follows: The essential themes of participant 1 were "digging seclusion site", "whirling around cryptograph" and participant 2 were "resuscitational catastrophe", "sowing seed on destroyed land", and participant 3 were "living Anonymous", "pumping priming water", and participant 4 was "taking on the burden of tragedy", and participant 5 was "stopen life time". The typical theme was "living person's life is died person's remaining category".

More than 100 bridges in Korea have been annually collapsed or badly damaged by the scouring around bridge piers, particularly in the flood season. To prevent from such a tragedy, the fundamental study on the bridge scouring is required, which is essential not only to estimate the scour depth with reliability but to take it into consideration in its design. However, it is not easy to find out the physical scour mechanism since many factors on the scour are coupled with. Moreover, there exists none of the measured data sufficiently for the primary research on the bridge scour depths. In this study the field measurements are carried out to provide the fundamental data for the research and the design. Scouring depth, pier width, flow depth, and the approaching velocity and degree of pier nose are measured broadly in small and medium streams. From these measurements the present situation on bridge scours can be understood and some of important factors to affect the stability of bridges are analyzed.

The purpose of this study is to present the aesthetic values of the Korean traditional costume for developing 'Korean' fashion design can be accepted in general in the modern times. For this purpose, documentary studies about the aesthetic values of the Korean traditional art and Korean traditional costume were preceded. And the perception of the Korean traditional costume were studied according to Belong's two criteria, body priority/ clothes priority and open/closed. Next, the aesthetic values of the Korean traditional costume were re-defined. The results can be summarized as follows; 1) The aesthetic values of the Korean traditional art are the beauty of nature, the purity, and the pleasantry. As the beauty of nature is the important one, the purity is caused by the love of nature. The pleasantry is as a way of expression. 2) The aesthetic values of the Korean traditional costume through the documentary studies stand for as the beauty of nature, the purity, the beauty of evil's eye, the beauty of symbolism, the beauty of personality, the beauty of tragedy and the beauty of tradition. 3) Korean traditional costume are perceived as clothes priority and open. 4) The aesthetic values of the Korean traditional costume can be re-defined as the beauty of nature, the purity, and the pleasantry. The beauty of nature comes from the 'natural' look, the exposure of the fabric as itself and the organic lines of the Korean traditional costume. The purity comes from the geometrical squared clothing form of Korean traditional costume which doesn't revive the human body form. The Pleasantry is seen the colors and motifs of costumes that have the human's hope and incantation and the exaggeration and distortion of human body form.

This study investigated the comical essence of animations and the comicality found in Korean animations focusing on the comical elements signifying the promotion of laughing and its meaning. In addition, it has been found from this study that the comical essence of animations was the laughing that expanded the recognition and awareness for the entity to be revived, by suggesting the following: 1) the fact that the laughing would be unexpected and it would stimulate the imagination of audience in unprecedented situations in which the method of creation would be unthinkable and thereby the laughing occurred would endow audience with thought, feeling and sense etc. that would not have been perceived so far; and 2) furthermore, the ideal world through grotesque expressions. Meanwhile, unlike the general preconception that animations would be considered one of the popular art forms with strong comical elements, it has been noted that there have been a very few Korean animations with strong comical elements. Besides, it has been confirmed that they have focused not on created and grotesque comicality, but on linguistic comicality based on the forms of characters or their movement itself, or humor and witty remarks.

North Korea's discharge of water from a dam into the Imjin River that flows through the inter-Korean border swept away a riverside camping site early Sunday morning, killing six people. This tragic incident might have been prevented if the North had given prior notice of the release from its Hwanggang Dam to the South. Investigations are under way to determine the reasons behind the unexpected act. This incident was a man-made disaster not least death of six people. A water level monitoring system(WLMS) of the Imjin River was installed the bridge of Pilseung that operate three public institutions. The WLMS of the A institution set up warning siren and broadcasting as the water level has been rising the bridge of Pilseung in the Imjin River. But the A institution's system was already out of side before discharged of water a dam into the Imjin River and the operators were culpable negligence. The B institution's office employee on charges of negligence that might have contributed to the tragedy and one of the A institution's employees ignored 26 warning messages on the WLMS. This tragic incident was a man-made disaster not least death of six people and might have been prevented if the WLMS was normally operated and the system operators must be worked a tight.

Through this thesis, I analyzed Coen brothers's directing style centering around Crime movies: Blood simple, Barton Fink, Fargo, The man who wasn't thers, No country for old man. About directing style of Coen brothers, plot is an epic depiction, habitual use of narration, refusal of happy ending. They concern subject matters about human original nature and tragedy by greed. And as motifs, they often use misunderstanding, crossing over, chase. Also they likes characters of ordinary people who is destroyed by greed. How about their technical style? They usually use steady-cam and wide lens in camera, and in his early crime movies he used expressionistic lights, but after that they usually used realistic natural lights. About sound, they likes more sound effects than music. Also they directed realistic acting and emphasized actor's personality. Coen brothers has been directed many crime movies and comedy films. But their unique directing style was particularly outstanding in the crime movies

Because of the continual occurrence of minor and moderate earthquakes in Korean peninsula, it is generally considered that Korean is not located in a safe region against probable earthquake any more, even though being recognized as a safe country in earthquake. It is in particular noted that nowadays there has been much concern about unexpected tragedy due to probable earthquake since the disaster of 1995 kobe earthquake. Thus, the objective of this research is to develop appropriate design spectrum which could be practicably used in seismic design of important structures taking into consideration of local physical characteristics. Particularly, we have to keep in mind the lessons from 1985 Mexico earthquake which had disregarded deep research on local ground conditions, being a possible magnification phenomena of ground motions in weak soil layer. Various spectra has been described based on the analysis of historical earthquakes, and generate the artificial ground acceleration. Also, rational numbers of artificial ground acceleration is investigated by the seismic analysis for skew slab bridges.

The purpose of this study is to find out the characteristics of landscape details in representing symbolic images in memorials on the themes of war, tragedy, and the democratization movement. In considering the characteristics of memorial landscapes, the researcher divided the characteristics of landscape details into 3 analysis categories. They are the symbolic application of landscape elements, the embodiment of landscape details, and the organization of landscape details to represent symbolic images, for example, memory, mourning, reflection, healing, glory, and identity. Among details in 24 memorials designed in or after 1970. 133 symbolic details were selected including 64 items in Korea. The analysis revealed that among 30 elements used by designers for memorialization, walls, ponds, sculptures were used more often than other elements in representing the meaning of mourning, reflection, and healing that are the basic function of memorial. In regard to detail form, the designers used basic shapes like circles, squares and rectangles, horizontal and vertical lines to heighten the symbolic effect of shapes in confined form. Stone and water utilized from nature were also used as main materials because of their materiality meaning of death, eternity, life, and healing. The techniques of using lighting, fire, and sound were introduced to make details more effective. Details were organized in harmony and repetition to represent the flew of time and space in symbolic images. The study identified the following characteristics of memorial landscapes in Korea that were different from other country first, in designing memorials, most designers in Korea have been more focused on the organization of space than the details in memorials, and so, they have been neglecting to deliver symbolic image through detail design, while depending mainly on the introduction of art works. Lastly, because they introduced traditional elements which have little relation with the symbolic image needed, there have been many details which inaccurately represent symbolic meanings.
