Objective: This research was designed to investigate how young children's musical ability and interest in Korean music and their playfulness were affected by musical play activities based on traditional children's songs. Methods: In this study, 28 five-year-old children from W childcare center in W city were divided into an experimental and a comparison group. The experimental group then took part in musical play activities based on traditional children's songs while the comparison group, even though they sang the same songs, took part in musical activities based on themes in the 'Nuri curriculum'. The average and standard deviations of the children's musical ability and interest in Korean music and their playfulness were calculated from the collected data, and ANCOVA was computed using the pre-test scores of each subject as the covariate. Results: The results showed that taking part in musical play activities based on traditional children's songs positively affected young children's musical ability and interest in Korean music and their playfulness. Conclusion/Implications: Therefore, it is suggested that such activities could be useful components for effective Korean music programs in the field of early childhood education.

This study examines what change has been brought to music industry in both domestic market and global market by the usage of internet. The study also discusses some cases and legal issues in digital music industry.

The purpose of this study is to study the perceived value of consumers of traditional Chinese music training institutions, and the resulting research on the impact of customers' purchase intentions. This research refers to relevant literature on customer perceived value and customer purchase intention, and divides customer perceived value into five value dimensions: emotion, quality, experience, price and reputation. Questionnaire survey method, using SPSS analysis AMOS tool to conduct empirical research, the research results show that customer perceived value has an important positive impact on purchase intention in five value dimensions of emotion, quality, price, experience and reputation, which is a traditional music training institution. Provide reference and suggestions for improvement.

Many Korean traditional music such as Jongmyo Jeryeak and Pansori are listed as UNESCO World Intangible Cultural Heritage and are recognized for their value. However, compared to other genres, Korean traditional music shows various problems such as low proportion of paying audiences and bias of audience age. Previous studies in the performing arts point out that in order to solve these problems, it is necessary to analyze consumers. Existing previous studies on the Korean traditional music performance remained mainly to grasp the influence of performance quality of service on viewing satisfaction at the one-dimensional level. However, in order to meet consumer expectations, not only the satisfaction factor but also the reasons why performing art consumers do not consume performances. In addition, it is important to identify the factors that can cause service failure before the performance, to prepare countermeasures and to manage them continuously. In this study, the Kano-Timko model was used to classify the quality factors of Korean traditional music performances, and to identify the priority points of service failures of Korean traditional music performances through the potential customer satisfaction index. Through the results of this study, Korean traditional performing organizations and organizations will be able to prepare proactive countermeasures for service failures occurring in Korean traditional music performances and establish effective operational strategies to derive customer satisfaction. In addition, it is important to apply the concept of service failure in order to classify the performance quality of service that was identified only in a one-dimensional manner based on Kano model.

The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of music therapy using Korean traditional rhythmic modes on the upper extremity function of elderly people with dementia. The subjects of this study were 13 patients at the age of 65 or more with dementia receiving long-term care in a nursing home in B City. It was analyzed that the effects of music therapy through the evaluation of manual function test (MFT), Activities of daily living (ADL), Korea dementia rating scale-2 test before and after the experiment. As a result, both of the scores of MFT and ADL were higher than after music therapy(p <.05) as well as Korea dementia rating scale-2 test score(management part). This indicates that the music therapy using Korean traditional rhythmic modes could improve function of the upper extremity with dementia as well as activities of daily living and management of dementia care. In conclusion, music therapy would be helpful to the improvement of not only the physical but also the cognitive function of elderly people with dementia, and it could be effectively employed in clinical settings.

The study of the development of DJ robots is to meet the demands of the music services which are changing very rapidly in the digital and network era. Existing studies, as a whole, develop music services on the premise of personalized environment and equipment, but the DJ robot is on the premise of the open space shared by the public. DJ robot gives priority to traditional space and music. Recently as the hospitality and demand for cultural contents of South Korea expand to worldwide, industrial use of the contents based on traditional or our unique characteristics is getting more and more. Meanwhile, the DJ robot is composed of a combination of two modules. One is to detect changes in the external environment and the other is to set the properties of the music by psychology, emotional engineering, etc. DJ robot detect the footprint of the temperature, humidity, illumination, wind, noise and other environmental factors measured, and will ensure the objectivity of the music source by repeated experiments and verification with human sensibility ergonomics based on Hevner Adjective Circle. DJ robot will change the soundscape of the traditional space being more beautiful and make the revival and prosperity of traditional music with the use of traditional music through BGM.

This research approach is different from the existing definition of Tropical House. It was derived from an electronic music genre (deep house, chill out, dance hall). However, this study explains that Tropical House contains elements of other art forms as well as electronic music. These are the elements of Ireland's traditional music (Celtic music). This study explains why the fusion of Tropical House and Celtic music was easy. And it shows that elements of Celtic music are included in Tropical House through eight popular songs. It can be confirmed that the melody, harmony, rhythm, singing method, instrumentation, and structure of Tropical House are intertwined with the elements of Celtic music. The key point of this research is to suggest that Celtic musical elements are found in the Tropical House genre. In addition, creators need to pay attention to various types of music, including traditional music from around the world. It is suggested that creators need to think about how to combine today's music with various other genres to create original music.

Like any other music, Korean traditional music make a beautiful compound melody of many music instruments. In this paper, we separate melody especially played by two instruments, that is Kayakeum, Piri(Korean pipe) analysing each audio signal. Kayakeum, Piri have a unique frequency component for each sound height. Therefore each melody of them can be expressed into each sheet of notation separately and MIDI codes. We expect that this paper will benefit all the people studying and instructing Korean music.

The aim of this study was to evaluate the synergistic effect of Samulnori and Ajaeng combination in music therapy. Samulnori is the Korea's most successful traditional music. The Ajaeng, Korean traditional string instrument, generally plays the bass part in ensemble music. However, we have tried a new kind of musical style. (As you can see in the Youtube, https://youtu.be/QHIciJTTY0w). Samulnori and Ajaeng combination of our style have not been tried by any other musicians in Korea. Results from this study showed that Samulnori-induced excitation and Ajaeng-induced dynamics probably contributed to the synergistic effect of Samulnori and Ajaeng.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the problems concerning 780 music division of DDC. The object is especially arrangement of 780 music in the 20th edition of DDC which is the complete revision. The result is summarized as follows : 1. Although music is an important subject in humanities, especially in arts, it was classified as one division (780) not class. 2. The arrangement of 780 music is severely west-oriented music theory, vocal music and instrumental music. 3. Classification number of 780 music becomes longer because of the limitation of decimal notation. 4. 780 music division of DDC neglects music theory and emphasizes music practicing, especially performance. 5. The assignment of classification number is unbalanced, especially between theory and practice, composition and performance, and among sub-sections of vocal and instrumental music. 6. Many important subject are omitted in DDC music schedule, for example, musicology and branches of musicology, composition and traditional instruments of many countries. 7. Employment of terminology is often improper and inconsistant.
