Objective : The aim of this study was to investigate treatment of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder(ADHD) in current Traditional Chinese Medical Journals. Methods : From January 2000 to December 2005, we searched Traditional Chinese Medical Journals. Results : 21 articles were selected and classified into two large groups, case report and comparison study. Totally 1137 cases, complete cures are 276, significant improvements and some improvement 1028, complete cure rate 24.27%, total improvement rate 90.41%. Conclusion : Oriental medical treatments for ADHD were investigated to be effective in most trials. But there remains a debate about outcome criteria. Further studies are needed. Treatment methods were herbal medicine, acupuncture, auricular acupuncture, family consult.

Objectives : The aim of this study was to investigate the treatment of failure to thrive in current Traditional Chinese Medical Journals. Methods : To figure out the failure to thrive, Chinese Medical Journals from China National Knowledge Infrastructure(CNKI) which was published in 1994 to 2005 were analyzed. 矮(小)-whae(so) was searched. Results : Eleven articles were selected. 5 of them were used herbal medicine, and were showed that the total improvement rate was higher than 70% in failure to thrive. 2 of them were used acupuncture, and the last of them were used a therapy of combining Traditional Chinese Medicine with western medicine. Conclusions : The Oriental medical treatments for failure to thrive were presumed to be effective in most articles. But we think that the more studies are needed.

Objectives : This study aimed to investigate acupuncture trend of childhood nocturnal enuresis in current Traditional Chinese Medical Journals. Methods : During the period from January 2000 to August 2004, we searched all Traditional Chinese Medical Journals in oriental medical library in dongguk university. We selected 28 literatures on acupuncture treatment for nocturnal enuresis in children Results : 28 studies are included and classified by diagnosis criteria and outcome criteria. And reclassified into two large groups, case report and comparison study. Totally 2324 cases, complete cures are 1701, significant improvements 2239, complete cure rate 73.2%, total improvement rate 97.3% 33 acupuncture points are used and main meridians are bladder, conception vessel and governor vessel. Conclusion : There remains a debate about diagnosis and outcome criteria. But Acupuncture is very effective and safe in the treatment of enuretic children.

Objectives The aim of this study was to investigate the treatment of precocious puberty in current traditional Chinese medical journals. Methods To figure out diagnosis methods, treatment methods, treatment effects of oriental medicine about precious puberty, Chinese medical journals from China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI) which was published from 1999 to 2007 were analyzed and precocious puberty was also been searched. Results 82 articles were selected. 1. Yin and purging Fire(滋陰瀉火) from traditional Chinese Medicine was usually used. 2. The herbs were almost used such as Rehmannia glutinosa(地黃), Anemarrhena asphodeloides (知母), Phellodendron amurense(黃柏), Thesium chinense(夏枯草), Paeonia suffruticosa Andrews(牧丹皮), Alisma canaliculatum(澤瀉), Testudinis Plastrum(龜板), Paeonia japonica(白芍藥), Bupleurum falcatum(柴胡), Genianae Scabrae Radix(龍膽草). 3. The total improvement rate was 72.50 to 100% Conclusions The oriental medical treatments for precocious puberty were presumed to be effective, but more studies are still needed.

Objective : The aim of this study was to investigate treatment of childhood myopia in current Traditional Chinese Medical Journals. Material and Method : We searched for treatment of childhood myopia in all Traditional Chinese Medical Journals published from January 2001 to October 2005. Results : Thirteen articles were selected and 7 of them showed total improvement rate was higher than 90% in childhood myopia. Treatment methods were acupuncture, auricular acupuncture, moxibustion, herbal medicine, adhesive plaster. Conclusion : Oriental medical treatments for childhood myopia were presumed to be effective in most trials. But there remains a debate about diagnosis and outcome criteria. Further studies are needed.

Objectives : The purpose of this study is to make the oriental medical treatment useful, and to develop the ways of acne cure. Methods : Recent paper about Traditional Chinese medicine of acne was analyzed for this studying. Results : According to the latest researches of Acne treatment with Chinese medicine, oriental medical methods to chronic acne were effective. Conclusions : Oriental medical treatment can be classified into 3 parts; internal cure, external cure, and acupuncture therapy. All of these ways were efficacious to cure chronic Acne.

Objective : This article reviewed China's intent and aim of the failed attempt to register Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM) as UNESCO's Intangible Cultural Heritage, its process and implication as a policy of 21st Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM) promotion on the landscape of North East Asian medical geopolitcs. Methods : This article utilized mainly the discourse analysis of vernacular Chinese journals and newspaper reports. Conclusions : It is needed to design effective strategies for securing Traditional Korean Medicine(TKM)'s identity and authenticity to cope with so-called 'Chinese Medicine Domination Project'.

Objectives : This study was performed to review the research tendency in traditional medical journals of epilepsy in China. Methods: 26 studies were selected by searching CNKI(China National Knowledge Infrastructure) from 2006 to 2010. Results : Those were analyzed and classified into cause, symptoms, herbal therapy, acupuncture therapy, diagnosis, clinical trials, case studies and evalution of treatment in epilepsy. Conclusions : The results show that traditional medical researches of epilepsy are performed variously and actively in China and there are some differences comparing with Korea. I hope these results activate the studies on eilepsy in Korean traditional medicine.

Objective : This study was designed to analyze the clinical studies on Tic disorder in traditional Korean medicine and traditional Chinese medicine. Methods : To figure out the Tic disorder, Korean medical studies from Oriental Medicine Advanced Searching Integrated System (OASIS) and Chinese Medical Journals from Wangfang data and China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI) which published in 2008 to 2012 were analyzed. Results & Conclusions : 1. DSM-IV(7 studies), CCMD(3 studies) were frequently used in the diagnosis of tic disorder. 2. The herbs used for the treatment of tic disorder are Uncariae ramulus et Uncus(釣鉤藤), Paeoniae Radix Alba(白芍藥), Poria(白茯苓), Buthus martensi Karsch(全蝎) etc. 3. Acupuncture points frequently used were Paek'oe(GV20), Pungji(GB20), Naegwan(PC6), Sasinchong(EX-HN1), T'aech'ung(LR3), Joksamni(ST36), Hapgok(LI4) and so on. 4. The cause of Tic disorder is connected with liver, heart, spleen, kidney, gall bladder among the internal organs and Fire(火), Wind(風), Dampness(濕) of external causes.

Objectives : The purpose of this study is to investigate oriental medical treatment of pediatric bronchial asthma. Method : Chinese medical journals which is about pediatric bronchial asthma were analyzed for a reference. Result : Oriental medical treatment can be classified into three ways; internal treatment, external treatment, and combination treatment which means combining with Chinese and Western ways of treatments. Conclusion : Oriental medical treatment of pediatric bronchial asthma is more effective therapy than Western's.
