  • This paper presents a software toolbox with $Matlab^{(R)}$ developed for the various performance analysis of an automatic guidance system of the Bimodal Tram. The Bimodal Tram is a new kind of transportation vehicle which could be an all-wheel steered multiple-articulated vehicle. This vehicle has to be equipped with an automatic guidance, traction/braking, and docking system, In the stage of developing such a system, its validities and performances should be verified under various operation conditions. For the purpose of doing these things through simulation, this toolbox has been developed and demonstrated well by applying it to the KRRI model.

  • This paper presents the current-fed inverter of a TGV-K traction system with thyristor switches using phase control and commutation techniques. The current-fed inverters have two modes of operation which consist of forced commutation and natural commutation. In forced commutation mode, at speed of less than 120km/h, commutation is forced by means of the commutation capacitors and the thyristors. Above 120km/h, the thyristors operate in natural commutation mode. according to the voltages between phases of the motors. In this paper. the power conversion theory of the TGV-K traction system and the control principle of the converter and current-fed inverter are discussed.

  • This paper presents a propulsion control system for electric car to improve traction capability. The presented VVVF inverter was composed of as IGBT and the controller was full digitalized by using 32bit DSP. The improved PWM algorithms was adapted to improve traction characteristics. The system could be possible the higher reliablity, compact, light, low cost' and flexbility.

PWM컨버터를 적용한 경전철 전력공급시스템에 관한 연구 (A Study on DC Traction Power Supply System Using PWM Converter)

  • Currently, power conversion system which converts AC to DC Power is applied in domestic urban railway. The diode rectifier is used in most of them. However the diode rectifier can not control the output voltage and can not regenerate power as well. On the other hand, PWM (pulse width modulation) converter using IGBT (isolated gate bipolar transistor) can control output voltage, allowing it to reduce the output voltage drop. Moreover the Bi-directional conduction regenerates power which does not require additional device for power regeneration control. This paper compared the simulation results for the DC power supply system on both the diode rectifier and the PWM converter. Under the same load condition, simulation circuit for each power supply system was constructed with the PSIM (performance simulation and modeling tool) software. The load condition was set according to the resistance value of the currently operating impedance of light rail line, and the line impedance was set according to the distance of each substations. The train was set using a passive resistor. PI (proportional integral) controller was applied to regulate the output voltage. PSIM simulation was conducted to verify that the PWM Converter was more efficient than the diode rectifier in DC Traction power supply system.

  • In this study, control schemes are proposed for a propulsion system of TTX(Tilting Train eXpress). In developed traction converter, unity power factor control, compensation method of dc link voltage have been applied. Output current of converter contains harmonic ripple at twice input ac line frequency, which causes a ripple in the dc link voltage so that beatless control is developed in inverter system to reduce the pulsating torque current. This system is verified by the system modelling and prototype test.

  • 전기 철도계통은 기존 전력계통과 달리 단상, 대용량 부하로 필연적으로 전압강하, 전압불평형 및 고조파 왜곡 등의 전력품질의 문제가 발생한다. 이러한 문제점 중 상시전압강하는 전력품질의 가중 중요한 요소로서 SVC(Static Var Compensator) 또는 STACOM(Static Compensator)를 설치하여 전압강하를 보상하는 연구가 수행되었다. 또한 순시전압강하는 고속으로 운전중인 철도차량의 제어 및 안전에 상당한 영향을 미칠것으로 예상된다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 AT(Auto Transformer)급전계통에 적용되는 순간전압강하 보상장치에 관한 연구를 수행하였다. 순간전압강하에 의한 철도차량의 과도해석을 위해 전원, 철도급전변압기, AT, 철도선로 및 철도 차량부하를 모델링 하였다. 또한 순간전압강하 발생시 철도차량부하의 과도특성을 분석하였고 이를 보상하기위한 순간전압강하 보상장치 (DVR:Dynamic Voltage Restorer)를 제안하였다. 순간전압강하 보상 시뮬레이션 결과, 순간전압강하 보상장치의 철도급전계통의 적용은 상당히 유용함을 알수있었다.

  • This paper describes a development of traction control algorithm to investigate dynamic behavior of 2-motor driven electric vehicle. A electric vehicle is represented by a nonlinear seven degree of freedom including accelerations of wheels, longitudinal, lateral, and yaw motions. A nonlinear control algorithm is proposed in order to enhance the driveability of the electric vehicle with torque split control system. With the proposed control algorithm, numerical simulations are performed to analyze the dynamic behavior of the electric vehicle.

고속철도차량용 견인 인버터 커패시터의 가속수명 예측 (Acceleration Life Prediction of the Capacitor on a Traction Inverter for a High-Speed Train)

  • The aim of this study is to develop a technique for the accelerated life test of the capacitor in a propulsion control device of a traction inverter used for a high-speed train. Using this technique, the accelerated life test can possibly estimate the life cycle of a capacitor under various temperature conditions and irregularly applied voltage. The accelerated life test is conducted for the capacitor of the traction inverter. The common proceedings of this test are selection of failure mechanism, determination of accelerated stress, range determination of the accelerated stress, determination of the test condition, and distribution and determination of the sample. From this result, the continuous applied voltage was not considered for the acceleration factors anymore. Therefore, the final result having an acceleration factor of 9.4 (= 13,626/1,445) was observed. Furthermore, the life-shortening acceleration effect for the irregular applied voltage condition can be applied to various situations.

  • In this pager, we studies IGBT VVVF inverter for 1C4M propulsion system of railway traction. This inverter is consisted in inverter stack, DB unit, and control unit. To prove performance of inverter carry out combine test. This test verifies that performance of inverter is excellent.
