무가선 저상트램용 전폐형 견인전동기 개발 (Development of Totally Enclosed Traction Motor for Low Floor Tram)

  • One of the rolling stocks, low floor tram is recognized as the important alternative to improve traffic and environmental problems. There are many advantages of tram transportation system. It has, especially, low construction costs and easy accessibility. Trams operate with vehicles on roadways. The bogie configuration including traction motor of tramcar is different from that of conventional electric trains because tram has lower floor than train. In these reasons, the traction motors of tramcar are exposed to dusts, water and so on. Therefore, motors are designed by totally enclosed type. In this paper, we explain the design and test of totally enclosed traction motor for tramcar. Characteristic tests and temperature-rising tests were carried out in order to predict the performance of motor and the maximum temperature of coil.

  • Due to the demand for high-output motors in the limited space between the wheels in an electric train, self-ventilating traction motors have been used for many years. periodical disassembly maintenance is necessary to remove the small quantities of dust that enter the motor from the open-air ventilation. Reducing this burden, as well as increasing efficiency and reducing noise, would benefit the next generation of moters To address these needs, KRRI is developing a fully enclosed type traction motor, a fully enclosed type traction motor with outer fans, a high-efficiency permanent-magnet synchronous motor and a direct-drive motor(DDM) as traction motors for the next generation of trains.

  • A novel loading mechanism of wedge roller type has been developed. This type traction drive has long system life and high efficiency by changing the pre-load on a contact point. And this loading mechanism does not need precision machining. So it has, as opposed to the conventional loading mechanism, an advantage in saving manufacturing cost. In this paper, by analyzing pre-load generating mechanism, spring pre-load and the roller size are defined and the stress on the contact point by pre-load is calculated. On the basis of this analysis, the model of wedge roller type traction drive for the test is made and was carried out its performance test. It can transmit input torque up to 1.5 N m, with high efficiency over 91% up to 98%, with slip rate under 2.5%.

  • KHST(Korean High-Speed Train, 350km/h), composed of 7 cars that are 2 power cars, 2 motorized car and 3 trailer cars, has been developed and is under on-line test. To verify hte design requirements about the functions and traction performances of this train, KRRI(Korea Railroad Research Institute) decided to evaluate traction performances of the train during on-line test. For this purpose, such as torque, velocity, voltage and current, must be measured. BRRI has developed the measurement system that can be measured vast and various signals effectively. In this paper, we introduce traction performances of KHST. The traction measurement items are focused on the verification of motor block performances.

  • This paper presents the technology of condition diagnosis & life estimation on insulation system of the traction motor. In the non-destructive methods for diagnosis of coil insulation state, residual dielectric strength is estimated by the D-map which consist of the partial discharge quantity Q and average degradation degree $\Delta$. In the operating history of machine, the N-Y life estimation method is based on the stop-starting numbers and operating times with considering each degradation factor by the thermal, electrical and heat-cycle stress. With the on-line conditioning monitoring on the currents of traction motors, detecting the abnormal operating state due to bearing faults, stator or armature faults, eccentricity related faults and broken rotor bars can be performed.

  • This study was carried out about the manufacture of test equipment for traction Motor Driving. The power converter is driven by two converter serially and keep a high power factor of power source. This system is haven all the characteristic of voltage source converter by having a processing ability of regenerating power. The traction motor is controlled by IGBT inverter. The test equipment is composed of traction motor, torque-meter, clutch, and inertia body of tubular type.

  • 본 연구에서는 급곡선과 급구배가 많은 산악 도로 상의 궤도에서 운행할 수 있는 산악트램의 추진시스템 핵심 기술을 개발하였다. 국내 산악 관광지는 겨울철 폭설과 결빙에 의해 교통이 통제되고 있어 지형 조건 뿐만 아니라 기후 조건에도 무관한 산악철도가 필요하다. 먼저, 일반적인 120‰ 구배 등반에 소요되는 견인전동기 출력을 고려하여 추진시스템을 설계하였으며, 추진장치 설치 공간을 고려하여 동력 전달 계통을 설계하고 감속기 및 동력 전달축을 개발하였다. 급구배 상승을 위해 필요한 랙앤피니언 추진장치의 강체 접촉에 의한 진동 소음을 줄이기 위해 탄성 피니언을 개발하여 적용하였으며, 충격 비교 시험을 통해 기존 강체 피니언에 비해 진동이 1/3이하로 감소됨을 확인하였다. 반경 10m의 급곡선을 운행할 수 있도록 개별 회전 차륜 차축을 개발하였다. 또한 급구배 주행중 제동력 향상을 위해 밴드 제동장치를 개발하였으며, 제동력 시험을 통해 요구 제동력을 발휘할 수 있음을 확인하였다. 개발된 주요 부품은 시험을 통해 성능을 검증하였고, 최종적으로 급구배 및 급곡선 운행 대차시스템에 적용된다.

농업용 트랙터 기반 소형 타워야더의 견인 성능 개선에 관한 연구 (Traction Performance Improvement Study on a Small-scale Tower Yarder Attached to a Farm Tractor)

  • 국내 임목수확작업에 사용되고 있는 트랙터 기반 소형 타워야더는 소경재 생산을 목적으로 개발되었으며, 중대경재 수확 체제로 변화함에 따라 견인 성능의 개선이 필요하다. 이 연구는 동력 전달방식을 기존의 기계식에서 기계 유압식으로 개선하여 타워야더의 최대 견인력을 비교·분석하였으며, 트랙터 엔진속도, 유압식 동력 전달 기구의 압력을 변수로 두고 견인 성능 실험을 실시하였다. 실험 수준은 트랙터 엔진속도(1,200, 1,400, 1,600, 1,800, 2,000, 2,200 rpm) 6수준, 동력 전달 기구의 압력(4.9, 6.9, 8.8 MPa) 3수준으로 선정하였다. 기존의 경우 최대 견인력은 엔진 회전속도 757 rpm에서 15,146.6 N의 최대견인력을 발휘하였으나 개선된 타워야더는 엔진 회전속도 1,575 rpm에서 36,140 N의 최대 견인력이 나타나, 최대 견인력이 2.4배 증가되었다. 이에 따라 중대경재 위주의 목재수확 현장에서 작업이 가능할 것으로 판단된다. 또한 기존 장비를 재활용하여 성능 개선함으로써 견인력이 큰 집재장비의 신규 도입 및 운영에 필요한 비용을 줄일 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

고속철도차량용 견인 인버터 커패시터의 가속수명 예측 (Acceleration Life Prediction of the Capacitor on a Traction Inverter for a High-Speed Train)

  • The aim of this study is to develop a technique for the accelerated life test of the capacitor in a propulsion control device of a traction inverter used for a high-speed train. Using this technique, the accelerated life test can possibly estimate the life cycle of a capacitor under various temperature conditions and irregularly applied voltage. The accelerated life test is conducted for the capacitor of the traction inverter. The common proceedings of this test are selection of failure mechanism, determination of accelerated stress, range determination of the accelerated stress, determination of the test condition, and distribution and determination of the sample. From this result, the continuous applied voltage was not considered for the acceleration factors anymore. Therefore, the final result having an acceleration factor of 9.4 (= 13,626/1,445) was observed. Furthermore, the life-shortening acceleration effect for the irregular applied voltage condition can be applied to various situations.

직류 전기철도에서의 레일전위 및 누설전류 해석을 위한 시뮬레이션 모델링 (A Simulation Modeling for Rail Potential and Leakage Current Analysis in DC Traction System)

  • In DC traction systems, a part of feedback current returning through rails becomes leakage current, illumination on a metal laid underground results from the leakage current to ground. To prevent the leakage current on rails, feedback rails almost have insulated with the ground. Insulation between rails and the ground causes that the earth method changes a isolated method in DC traction systems. the rail potential rise results in the isolated method. the rail potential rise causes an electric shock when a person touches the ground and rolling stock. To decrease the rail potential rise and leakage current, there are methods for reducing the feedback resistance and current of rails, increasing the leakage resistance, decreasing the distance between substations. But it are necessary to forecast and analyze the rail potential and amplitude of leakage current. In this paper, we modeled DC traction systems and feedback circuit to simulate the rail potential and amplitude of leakage current using PSCAD/EMTDC that is power analysis program, forecasted the rail potential and amplitude of leakage current about changing various parameters in the electric circuit. By using the simulation model, we easily will forecast the rail potential and amplitude of leakage current in case of a level of basic design and maintenance in electric railway systems, valuably use basic data in case of system selection.
