Islamic vs. Non-Islamic Attributes for Smart Tourism City in South Korea

  • Destination attributes represent the attractiveness of destinations that pull tourists to visit them. Destination marketers must understand what motivates tourists to choose certain destination attributes before they travel. Considering religious tourists plays an important aspect in influencing travel decisions, especially destination choices. For instance, the appearance of Islamic religious attributes in destinations can delight Muslim tourists and stimulate their satisfaction and loyalty. This study examines smart tourism city. In particular, it investigates the effects of Seoul's destination attributes on Muslim tourists' satisfaction and loyalty to South Korea. Results show that non-Islamic destination attributes (conventional attributes) have positive relationship with Muslim tourists' satisfaction, and their satisfaction is positively related to their loyalty toward South Korea as a travel destination.

  • This study analyzed the strategic importance of fashionable products in order to increase the tourism allure of Seoul. Data were collected from the 758 foreign tourists visiting Seoul from Japan, China, and the USA. The survey was statistically analyzed by chi-square, regression, and ANOVA method. The fashionable products were found to be the most frequently shopped product category and the clothing product was identified to be the most preferred. The retail store area with the greatest market share was identified as Myundong. Product satisfaction with fashionable products is identified to have a positive relationship with tourism satisfaction and royalty to Seoul. A strategic focus on fashionable products is recommended for an increased tourism competency.

Visitors' Perceptions to Ecotourism Goals and Satisfaction : The Case of Muju Firefly Festival

  • The purposes of this study were to investigate ecotourism goals which are providing educational tourism, generating environmental conservation, and residents' economic benefits based on the 7th Muju Firefly festival. The sample was 243 visitors from August 23rd to 30th, 2003. The results were as follows: First, visitors showed high satisfaction for the educational tourism program. Experiencing educational 'Mysterious Firefly Field Trips' contributed to the tourists' educational satisfaction. It was found that these experience programs were very popular. Second, residents' and domestic visitors' satisfaction was high with 5.50 on Likert 7 points concerning environmental conservation. Third, foreigners showed high satisfaction for visiting tourism sites and understanding regional culture in terms of understanding region and economic benefits. The average economic effect was decreased compared to 2002. So there should be more diverse strategy to increase economic effect. Also more festival related products, diverse and unique foods and beverages based on regional products should be developed.

호텔선택속성이 유비쿼터스 관광정보서비스만족도에 미치는 영향: 호텔 종사자를 대상으로 (Hotel Preference Attributes and Ubiquitous Tourism Information Systems)

  • Ubiquitous tourism information systems are more and more required to provide cultural contents comprising material heritage, performing art, folk tradition, handicraft or customs of everyday life, along with traditional tourist information about hotel facilities and infrastructure. This study attempts to investigate the effect of tourists' hotel preference attributes in terms of their satisfaction with ubiquitous tourism service. In so doing, 145 questionnaires were used to analyze the satisfaction of u-tourism service and the hotel preference attributes through the field survey. The questionnaires were collected from hotel employees who had experienced the ubiquitous tourism service. It is found that some of hotel-preference attributes positively influence u-tourism satisfaction but not all of them did. Service and differentiation attributes had an impact to u-tour and u-hotel function. And beverage attributes, to u-tour function, and convenience attributes, to u-hotel function. These findings mean that the hotel built u-tourism infrastructure gain a competitive advantage than the otherwise hotel.

관광정보서비스, 결재서비스, 만족도, 재이용의도의 구조적 관계: 중국 시에청을 대상으로 (Structural Relationships among Tourism Information, Payment Service, Satisfaction, and Intention to Reuse: Focused on the Ctrip APP in China)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of six factors (accuracy, perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, security, instant accessibility, and ease of use) on re-use intention; and then to help to establish future marketing strategy. In order to achieve the study's objectives, this study conducted an online questionnaire on the Internet, Wenjuanxing. The total of 270 copies through APP-Wechat (Wicket), and 245 were used for analysis. For statistical processing, SPSS22.0 is used to analyze the influence relationship amongst factors for mobile tourism information service, a variety of analysis, such as factor analysis, reliability analysis, mass regression analysis, simple regression analysis were employed. The results of this study are summarized as follows. As a result of analyzing the factors affecting the satisfaction of consumers using chinese Ctrip mobile app, the perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use of mobile tourism information service attributes have a significant effect on user satisfaction. The accuracy of mobile information service were found to have no significant effect on satisfaction. The security, immediacy of access, and usability of the payment service of mobile APP were found to have a significant effect on satisfaction. And customer satisfaction has a significant effect on re-use intention.

문화관광축제 방문객의 평가속성 만족과 행동의도에 관한 연구 - 2006 광주김치대축제를 중심으로 - (The Effects of Evaluation Attributes of Cultural Tourism Festivals on Satisfaction and Behavioral Intention)

  • 문화관광축제는 전국의 지역축제 가운데 광역시 도에서 추천한 축제 가운데 관광상품성이 크고, 경쟁력 있는 우수한 축제를 선정하여 지원하는 사업이다. 문화관광축제 종합평가계획(문화관광부, 2006)에 의하면 방문객의 만족도 평가, 전문위원 평가, 그리고 축제 개선실적 등을 감안하여 최우수축제, 우수축제, 유망축제, 예비축제로 선정되고 있다. 특히 예비축제를 제외한 문화관광축제는 공공부문의 사업비 지원을 받기 때문에 1,000여 개가 넘는 지역축제의 방문객 만족도 평가는 상호비교가 가능한 평가척도를 이용하여 종합평가분석이 이루어진고 있다. 이러한 견지에서 본 연구에서는 문화관광축제 공통평가속성이 방문객 만족과 사후행동의도에 미치는 영향관계를 파악하여, 향후 축제기획 시 방문객 만족도 제고와 지속가능한 문화관광축제로 선정되기 위한 시사점을 제시하였다. 본 연구에서는 이론연구를 통하여 문화관광축제 평가속성, 만족, 그리고 행위의도에 관한 변수를 도출하였으며, 2006 광주김치대축제 방문객을 대상으로 실증분석을 수행하였다. 문화관광축제 평가속성에 대한 요인분석을 통하여 홍보안내, 행사내용, 기념품 음식, 편의시설 요인을 도출하였으며, 축제방문객 만족과 행동의도와의 관계를 분석하였다. 연구모형을 통해 수립한 연구가설은 차이분석, 회귀분석, 공분산 구조분석 등을 통해 검증하였으며, 연구결과 모든 가설은 채택되었다. 향후 본 연구결과를 바탕으로 본 축제와 성격이 유사한 축제방문객 분석을 통한 비교연구를 기대한다.

Exploring the Satisfaction with COVID-19 Prevention Measures and Awareness of the Tourism Crisis for Residents' Tourism Attitude

  • Purpose: The researchers reviewed the previous studies on the psychological anxiety and economic damage during the recent COVID-19 pandemic to understand the satisfaction, awareness and attitude of the residents in Jeju, Korea. Research design, data and methodology: 215 samples based on self-reported survey were collected for path analysis focused on controlling variables in demographic characteristics in PLS-SEM using Smart PLS 3.0. Results: The researchers found the Satisfaction with COVID-19 Prevention Measures and the Awareness of Tourism Crisis affect Attitude toward Tourism of the residents with the explanatory power (R2 = 0.209). Age was found to be the only significant controlling variable in this model for the Awareness of Tourism Crisis to Attitude toward Tourism. Conclusions: The attitude toward tourism is influenced by the level of satisfaction of the prevention service for COVID-19 as well as the awareness of the crisis. Residents have different level of the tourism crisis awareness by the status of their economic activities while there is no differences in all age groups for satisfaction in the quarantine service. The study suggests that the importance of the public health service should be preferentially concerned for residents to have stable economic activities where the tourism is the major industry.

기억할만한 관광경험(MTE) 측정척도 기반의 관광지만족도 및 충성도 연구 (The Effect of Memorable Tourism Experience(MTE) on Destination Satisfaction and Loyalty)

  • 본 연구는 관광객이 관광지를 방문한 후 기억할만한 관광경험이 어떤 것이 있으며, 그에 따른 관광지 만족도 및 충성도를 분석하고자 실증분석을 실시하였다. 연구방법 및 연구내용, 그 결과는 다음과 같다. 선행연구(Chandralal & Valenzuela, 2015)에서 제시한 기억할만한 관광경험(Memorable Tourism Experience: MTE) 측정척도를 활용하였으며, 현지 가이드에 대한 경험, 예상하지 못한 즐거운 경험, 지역전통 고유문화 경험, 개인자아 발견 경험, 여행 동반자 유대강화 경험, 독특하고 이국적인 경험, 정서적 경험, 지역주민 환대 경험, 개인 관심 여행 충족 경험요인 등 9개의 요인이 도출되었다. 기억할만한 관광경험은 관광지만족도 및 충성도에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 그러나 기억할만한 관광 경험 중 지역주민 환대 경험은 관광지만족도와 충성도에 아무런 영향관계가 없는 것으로 분석되었다. 본 연구의 결과는 기억할만한 관광경험에 대한 중요성을 시사할 수 있으며, 관광객들에게 다양한 경험을 기획하고 제공할 수 있을 것이다.

농촌관광 사업자의 경영성과에 영향을 미치는 요인 (Factors Affecting Business Performance of Rural Tourism Operators)

  • The study aims to identify the factors affecting business performance of rural tourism operators. For this study, 1,004 questionnaires were collected by field survey of rural tourism operators. The linear multiple regression analysis were used to identify factors affecting performance of rural tourism business. The result indicate that the factors influencing the sales of rural tourism business were in order of owning sales facilities, perception of multi-functional value of agriculture and rural, group promotion, number of rooms, and gender. In the case of gender, it was found that females had a high probability of positively affecting sales. The factors influencing the satisfaction of the rural tourism business were in the order of management strategy, number of days of operation, perception of multi-functional value of agriculture and rural, and business career. In the case of management strategy, it was found that the differentiation strategy have a positively affecting the satisfaction of the rural tourism business. As for the business career, the shorter the career, the higher the probability of positively affecting the satisfaction of the rural tourism business. The results of this study would be useful for establishing strategies to improve the management performance of the rural tourism business.

관광구매단계에서의 관광옴니채널 선택요인, 만족도, 구매의도 등에 관한 영향관계 분석 (Analysing the Relationship among Tourism Omnichannel Selecting Factor, Satisfaction and Purchasing Intention on the Tourism Purchasing Stage)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 관광의 상품적 특성을 고려하여 관광옴니채널의 구매단계에 대한 실증분석을 통한 이론적 실무적 시사점을 제공하자 함이다. 연구의 절차 및 방법은 이론적 연구에 의거하여 가설 설정하며 설문조사를 통한 실증분석을 하는 것이다. 연구분석 결과로서 1) 구매단계에서의 관광옴니채널의 선택요인과 만족도간에는 긍정적 영향관계가 있으며, 2) 관광객의 옴니채널에 대한 만족도가 높을수록 관광상품에 대한 구매의도는 높아지며, 3) 관광옴니채널 선택요인(편의성, 신뢰성)과 만족도간의 관계에 대하여 관광경험은 정(+)의 조절 역할을 하며, 4) 관광옴니채널 선택요인(신뢰성)과 만족도간의 관계에서 재무적 위험은 부(-)의 조절 역할을 하는 것으로 나타났다. 이상과 같은 실증분석결과는 편의성과 경험을 중시하는 일반적인 옴니채널의 지식체계를 관광분야로 확장시켰다는 점에서 본 연구의 의의를 가질 수 있겠다. 향후는 관광옴니채널이 발달함에 따라 보다 다양한 변수와 설문체계가 적용된 분석이 이루어져야 할 것이다.
