토크리플 억제와 역률개선을 위한 단상 SRM의 구동시스템 (Single-phase SRM Drive for Torque Ripple Reduction and Power Factor Improvement)

  • In the single-phase switched reluctance motor (SRM) drive, the required DC source is generally supplied by the circuit consisting of bridge rectifier with diodes and many filter capacitances connected with AC source. Although the peak torque ripple of SRM is small because of large capacity of the capacitance, the charge and discharge time swhich the AC source acts on the capacitance are small and the peak current will pass on the side of source, so power factor and system efficiency decrease. Therefore a novel SRM drive system is presented in this paper, which includes drive circuit realizing reduction of torque ripple and improvement of power factor and switching topology. The proposed drive circuit consists of one switching part and diodes which can separate the output of AC/DC rectifier from the large capacitance and supply power to SRM alternately in order to realize reduction of torque ripple and improvement of power factor through the turn on and turn off of switching part. In addition, the validity of method is tested by simulation and experiment.

  • The one-dimensional performance model of a torque converter has been widely used to analyze and predict the performance and dynamic behavior of a torque converter. But this model doesn't include the information of the operating fluid properties. Therefore, to precisely predict dynamic performance of a torque converter, the effect of operating conditions must be considered through experimental coefficients such as friction loss coefficient and shock loss coefficient. And these coefficients cannot be achieved without experiments or internal flow analysis. In this study, the effects of varying material properties of operating fluid according to various operating temperatures are clarified with flow analysis of a torque converter. And these results are verified by comparing with those of performance experiment.

  • A three dimensional simulation of the fluid flow in an automotive torque converter was conducted adopting the mixing plane model implemented in the computational fluid dynamics program CFD-ACE. The present numerical results for performance characteristics showed a good agreement with the experimental results. In the flow of the torque converter, recirculating flow regimes were found mostly at the suction side of each element, which caused the performance decrease. The recirculating flow can be minimized by the optimization of the blade geometries.

  • 본 논문에서는 1 단구조방식의 PFC 회로를 갖는 단상 SRM 구동시스템의 특성해석에 대해 다룬다. 단상 SRM은 기계적 및 전기적 구조가 단순하고, 견고하며, 고속운전특성이 우수하다. 다이오드 브릿지 정류기와 직류링크회로의 커패시터로 구성된 종래의 단상 SRM 구동방식은 커패시터의 짧은 시간의 충 방전 전류에 의해 역률이 크게 저하되는 문제가 발생한다. 따라서, 본 논문에서는 우선 부가적인 능동회로가 없는 1 단방식의 PFC 회로에 대한 분석을 통하여 역률개선 및 토크리플 억제를 위한 스위칭 토플로지를 새로 제안한다. 제안한 스위칭 토플로지로 작동하는 PFC 회로를 갖는 단상 SRM 구동시스템을 구축하고 시스템에 대한 수치해석을 통해 운전속도, 부하토크 및 커패시터 용량에 따른 토크리플, 역률 및 효율 등 시스템의 특성을 얻으며, 이를 실제 실험결과와 비교한다.

산업차량용 토크컨버터의 작동 안정성 평가 방법에 대한 연구 (A Study on the Evaluation Method of the Operation Stability of a Torque Converter Mounted on Industrial Vehicle)

  • This paper presents the induced mathematical modeling equations for evaluating the operation stability with automatic transmission of heavy duty vehicle. This theoretical approach indicates that linearized governing equations of system can be converted into eigen-value problems. if the eigen-value has positive number, we can predict the engine operating point locates an unstable operating region. To be a stable state, the unstable operating point diverges toward a stable point which is able to maintain uniform velocity. Based on the previous theoretical analysis, we carry out dynamic simulation to show the behavior of engine operating point and torque converter in transient state. As a result of the dynamic simulation, the suggested theoretical method is found to be reasonable for evaluating the operation stability of a torque converter. In addition, the numerical results explain the engine stops and fluctuating phenomenon in reality.

Load capacity simulation of an agricultural gear reducer by surface heat treatment

  • Gear reducers are widely used for various agricultural machinery applications such as greenhouses, tractors, and agricultural vehicles. However, thermal deformation and surface pitting at gear tooth flank frequently occur in gear reducers due to high torque. Thus, surface heat treatment of gears is required to improve wear and fatigue resistance. The objective of this study was to simulate the load capacity of the agricultural gear reducer. The simulation was performed for the following three surface heat treatment methods: untreated gears, nitriding heat treatment, and induction hardening method, those mostly used for agricultural gear reducers. The load capacity of the gear reducer was simulated using the safety factor, limit bending stress, and limit contact stress of the gear. The simulation of the load capacity was conducted using KISSsoft commercial software for gear analysis. The main results of simulation test were as follows: first, the nitriding heat treatment resulted in the highest safety factor for bending stress, which was increased about 77% from those of the untreated gears. Second, the induction hardening was the highest safety factor for contact stress, which was increased about 150% from those of the untreated gears. The safety factor for contact stress of the induction hardening was increased about 64% from those of the nitriding heat treatment. The study result suggested that the surface heat treatments could enhance load capacity and that the method of surface heat treatment should be determined based on simulation results for appropriate use scenarios.

고무 벨트식 무단변속기 시스템의 성능분석 (Performance Analysis of the Rubber Belt type CVT System)

  • CVT(Continuously Variable Transmission) is one of the most promising candidates for the future automobile transmission because of its continuously variable gear ratio and reduced shift shock. It is also possible to operate the power source at its high efficiency region with CVT. The CVT system consists of thrust plate, driving pulley, belt, driven pulley, and preload spring of output shaft. In this paper, the dynamic modeling of a CVT system is completed to obtain the static performances of CVT system. A simulator is implemented on Matlab(Simulink), which can analyse the static performances of a CVT system. The methods for improving the total efficiency of a motorcycle system are also proposed based on the simulation results. In this study we increase the capacity factor of CVT up to the three times of default specification.

가축성 강재 지보의 강도특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on Strength Characteristics of Yieldable Steel Arch Supports)

  • 이 연구에는 가축성 강재지보에 대한 실내실험 및 현장실험 결과가 제시된다. 시험지보는 단위중량이 25.8kg/m인 Gloken profile U 빔 3매를 조립하여 제작되었다. 양단이 힌지로 지지되는 반원형 및 아치형 지보에 대한 정역학적인 해석이 실시되었다. 실험된 U빔의 형상계수는 1.35이었고 지보형태에 따른 2차 소성힌지의 위치를 산정하였다. 천장부에서 단일집중하중을 받는 아치형 지보의 내하력을 조사하여 이를 지보 각주 길이의 함수로 나타내었다. U 빔 연결부의 결합토크를 변화시키는 실물크기 지보시험을 수행하여 시험지보의 가축특성을 파악하였으며, 결합토크를 설계하는 방법을 연구하였다. 결합토크가 21kg.m 인 시험지보를 현장에 설치하고 계측한 결과 전형적인 가축현상을 관찰할 수 있었다.

역률개선 콘덴서를 이용한 유도전동기 기동특성 분석 (Induction Motor Starting Characterization with Power Factor Correction Capacitors)

  • 본 논문은 대용량 유도전동기의 기동특성을 분석하였다. 유도전동기 토크는 전류와 자속의 곱으로서 이 자속을 발생시키기 위해서는 여자전류에 해당되는 무효전력이 필요하다. 유도전동기에 필요한 무효전력을 공급하는 방법으로 역률 보상장치를 사용하여 전원측을 대신하여 공급하는 방법을 많이 사용하는데, 역률 보상장치를 사용할 경우 피상전력을 줄일 수 있어 역률을 향상시킬 수 있다. 역률을 개선하기 위한 보상장치를 설치하는 방법으로 부하마다 설치하는 경우와 전체를 일괄 보상하는 방법으로 고압 대용량의 부하로서 일정한 운전패턴을 가지고 있는 경우에는 주로 개별보상이 주로 사용된다. 일반적으로 대용량 유도전동기는 기동 보호장치를 이용하지만 이 논문은 전전압 기동시의 특성을 분석하는 가상의 상황을 가정하여 기동특성에 대한 이론과 실제의 운전특성을 측정 분석하고 역률개선 콘덴서를 이용하여 기동특성을 개선해 보았다.

The secondary excited induction generator in random wave input system

  • The employment of the induction generator is preferable in the natural energy utilization by the minimum maintenance and the mechanical robustness, Another merit is also expected when it is connected to the power network system, because constant-voltage and constant frequency (CVCF) power generation is easily realized in spite of the variation of the rotor speed. However the induction generator needs much amount of the reactive power that reduces power factor in the primary side. The improvement of power factor in the primary side requires large VAR compensator, this point is solved, the merit of the induction machine as a main generator will become more established. This paper proposes a novel approach where the secondary is controlled by a PWM inverter not only to get CVCF power but also to improve the primary power factor. Basically the inverter is controlled so that the field current is supplied from the secondary side in this approach. The required capacity of the inverter is small, because only the slip power is controlled in the secondary side. In the experimental system where the sea wave torque simulator is used, the power factor is well improved by the microcomputer controlled PWM inverter.
