The goal of this study was to explore topic defining patterns of students in interdisciplinary Capstone Design Class. Thematic analysis methodology was used to examine 85 Korean college students' lived experience of project topic generation which is for interdisciplinary capstone design class and Individual open-ended survey for constituted the data sources. Findings show four contexts of student's topic defining patterns using thematic analysis including (a) one leader's directed problem representation, (b) team common decision making after brainstorming, (c) empathy with professor proposed issue, (d) problems offered to students by corporate or research competitions. Based on research result, I could suggest instructional strategies of Capstone Design Class of teacher for helping their students' topic defining. It was necessary to minimize the opinions of the instructors at the beginning of class and minimize the number of team members. And also it provided a lot of opportunities to collaborate with companies in the topic selection process, it will help to develop the students' ability to determine the valuable topic in project.

Since Beran (1977) developed the minimum Hellinger distance estimation, this method has been a popular topic in the field of robust estimation. In the process of defining a distance, a kernel density estimator has been widely used as a density estimator. In this article, however, we show that a combination of a kernel density estimator and an empirical density could result a smaller bias of the minimum Hellinger distance estimator than using just a kernel density estimator for a location parameter.

3차원 가상환경은 시각정보 위주의 제한적인 정보를 제공한다 이는 사용자가 환경 안에서 방향을 상실하게 되는 원인이 된다. 이를 보완하기 위해 여러 가지 방법의 탐색항해 도구에 대한 연구가 진행 되었다. 본 연구에서는 시맨틱 웹 구축 기술의 하나인 토픽맵 기법을 3차원 가상환경에 적용하여 탐색항해 도구를 설계했다. 토픽맵은 토픽과 토픽 사이의 연결 관계를 정의함으로 의미적 연결지도를 구축한다. 이를 적용한 탐색항해 도구의 활용성 실험에서 대표성이 높은 목표 보다는 세밀한 목표를 찾을 때 효과적으로 탐색항해에 도움이 되고 있음을 보여주었다. 또한 찾고자 하는 목표가 정확하지 않은 상태에서의 탐색항해에서 주제에 관련된 주변 지식의 제공은 사용자의 목표 선택에 효과적임을 확인할 수 있었다.

This study aims to examine both the theoretical framework and practical method for the building a subject-oriented collection of information resources form Internet. Through the study, a few conclusions as well as a suggestion were derived. 1. Conclusions : (1) The continuous learning and studying by the librarians working in the information society is required in order that they could have a broader recognition of the existence of various resources from Internet by subject, and that they could be armed with a greater ability to evaluate for the information filtering. (2) The use of a subject directory to collect needed information resources form Internet revealed the necessity for going through many steps linked by hierarchical indexes till arriving at the desired information, and accordingly the great time was needed to conduct the work. (3) In case of using various search engines, since the output of the relevant information largely depends on the adequate defining of the topic, the right selection of search terms and the accurate methods of inputting the keywords, systematic organization of the resources is not simple and easy. The classifying work of collected resources for the topic into the broader categories differs from that of the resources form other topics, for example, psychology, because of the idiosyncrasy of the contents of the each topic. (4) As one method to provide more revolutionary value-added service using Internet, it is necessary for the librarians to learn the skills to build the Web resource pages of subject-oriented collection of information resources from Internet on the specific subject. 2. A suggestion : Since the study did not complete the collection and organization of the information resources from the Internet on this topic, the remaining research and task should be the thorough collection of resources and the building the Web resource pages consisting of interconnecting links of indexes by spending greater time.

임상시험은 인간을 대상으로 약물 또는 치료법의 효과를 검증하는 것을 목적으로 하고 있다. 성공적인 임상시험을 위해서는 단순한 자료분석에만 통계의 이용을 제한하지 않고 다양한 영역으로 활용의 폭을 넓히는 것이 필요하다. 연구계획단계에서부터 구체적이고 체계적으로 통계의 활용을 고려하기 위해 효과에 대한 정의, 적정한 표본크기 산정, 통계분석 방법 등 전반적인 통계의 응용을 고찰한다.

Purpose - This study sought to discuss definitions of organizational culture taking into consideration different views, and the historical and philosophical elements of organizational culture. Research Design, Data, and Methodology - This paper is a relatively conceptual study that has attempted to define organizational culture, a topic that has been debated among scholars and practitioners. Various studies in the literature related to organizational culture have been reviewed in an effort to reduce the complexities and ambiguities in definitions of organizational culture. Results -This study summarized and synthesized different studies related to organizational culture, and identified the main streams for defining organizational culture as being from the historical and philosophical elements of organizational culture. Conclusions -The concept of organizational culture continues to be an important factor affecting organizational effectiveness and initiating organizational development. However, the definition of organizational culture has not been well-established. In this sense, this paper seems to be significant and meaningful as it attempts to define organizational culture from different perspectives.

Two-Phase sampling, which was first introduced by Neyman (1938), has various applications in different forms. Variance estimation for two-phase sampling has been an important research topic because conventional variance estimators used in most softwares are not working. In this paper, we considered a variance estimation for two-phase sampling in which stratified two-stage cluster sampling designs are used in both phases. By defining a conditionally unbiased estimator of an approximate variance estimator, which is calculable when all elements in the first phase sample are observed, we propose an explicit form of variance estimator of the double expanded estimator for a two-phase sample. A small simulation study shows the proposed variance estimator has a negligible bias with small variance. The suggested variance estimator is also applicable to other linear estimators of the population total or mean if appropriate residuals are defined.

The recent rise in the unstructured data generated by social media has resulted in an increasing need to collect, store, search, analyze, and visualize it. These data cannot be managed effectively by using traditional data analysis methodologies because of their vast volume and unstructured nature. Therefore, many attempts are being made to analyze these unstructured data (e.g., text files and log files) by using commercial and noncommercial analytical tools. Especially, the attempt to discover meaningful knowledge by using text mining is being made in business and other areas such as politics, economics, and cultural studies. For instance, several studies have examined pending national issues by analyzing large volumes of texts on various social issues. However, it is difficult to create satisfactory information services that can identify R&D documents on specific national issues from among the various R&D resources. In other words, although users specify some words related to pending national issues as search keywords, they usually fail to retrieve the R&D information they are looking for. This is usually because of the discrepancy between the terms defining pending national issues and the corresponding terms used in R&D documents. We need a mediating logic to overcome this discrep 'ancy so that we can identify and package appropriate R&D information on specific pending national issues. In this paper, we use association analysis and social network analysis to devise a mediator for bridging the gap between the keywords defining pending national issues and those used in R&D documents. Further, we propose a methodology for packaging R&D information services for pending national issues by using the devised mediator. Finally, in order to evaluate the practical applicability of the proposed methodology, we apply it to the NTIS(National Science & Technology Information Service) system, and summarize the results in the case study section.

Rather than the simple adaption of Western design principles to the Korean context, this paper explicates how a unique critical urban design methodology evolved in Korea in the 1960s. Even as the era was a time of major transition and development, most research has offered limited discourse on the topic, imposing a straightforward reading where Japanese colonial influence is supplanted by Western logics. Through the example of the brief but intense activities of the Housing, Urban and Regional Planning Institute (HURPI), this paper offers a more detailed understanding that focuses on the 'how' rather than the 'what' of HURPI's significance. Through first-hand interviews with HURPI director Oswald Nagler and senior member Sung Chull Hong, the research of the institute is revealed as promoting dialectical 'critical design' methodologies that resulted in a sophisticated synthesis of diverse influences from Western, Korean, and Japanese sources. Moreover, the modes of critical design methods are further analyzed in a recently discovered brochure on HURPI's defining research and pilot projects published by the Ministry of Construction.

온라인에서 생성되는 비정형 데이터가 기하급수적으로 증가하고 있으며 이중에서도 텍스트 데이터에 대한 분석이 다양한 분야에서 이루어지고 있다. 본 연구는 국내 지능정보사회 대비를 위한 플랫폼 정부의 연구 동향을 규명하기 위하여 국내 논문DB인 디비피아(www.dbpia.co.kr)에서 플랫폼 정부를 주제로 한 학술논문들의 제목과 연도, 학회, 초록 정보를 수집하였다. 본 연구에서 국내의 연구현황, 연구주제, 연구 분야 추이 등을 텍스트마이닝의 토픽 모델링 기법을 활용하여 분석하였다. 지능정보사회 대비를 위한 플랫폼 정부 전반적인 분야에 대해 기존 연구결과를 바탕으로 국내 국가정보화 추진 단계별 플랫폼 정부 관련 논문에서 기술, 서비스, 거버넌스로 잠재된 토픽을 추출하고, 연도별로 핵심 토픽의 추이를 분석하였다. 본 연구는 지능정보시대를 맞아 민간이 혁신을 주도하고 정부는 조력자 또는 촉진자 역할을 통해 국가사회 혁신이 이뤄질 수 있는 장을 조성해야 한다는 플랫폼 정부라는 정부의 새로운 역할에 대한 근거를 제시하였다는 데 의의를 지닌다. 플랫폼 정부의 국내연구 현황에 대한 객관적인 분석을 통해 플랫폼 정부 연구의 현주소를 이해하고 향후 발전방향을 모색함으로써, 향후 연구에 기여하는 참고자료를 제공할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.
