  • Recently, a variety of cultural life using drones as an entertainment tool has been created, and in order to realize this, more and more users are using drones with good performance enough to invade the no-flight zone. Drones for satisfying entertainment activities must have long flight times and be able to fly long distances, which can often cause great damage by invading no-flight zones or causing unwanted flight crashes. In this study, in order to solve this problem, a no-flight zone is set with GCS(Ground Control System), and when flying at a critical speed of 10km/h or less, the drone is safely operated by not entering the critical distance 10m away from the no-flight zone, and the critical speed A method was proposed to prevent the drone from entering the no-flight zone by allowing the drone to self-drop by GCS control when it flies beyond the threshold and enters the critical distance. As a result of a total of 44 repeated experiments in a specific experimental area with the proposed method, the drone safely self-dropped except for the case where it crossed the restricted area once or twice. It was found to be an appropriate way to prevent this.

  • Children grow and develop through play. Play is being used as a friend and a learning material and tool in everyday life of children. It is a research study aimed to empirically analyze the effects of father's play belief and play participation on child's playfulness. A survey was carried out for the selected 284 children aged 5 years and older attending kindergarten located in D-gu, Seoul in order to achieve the goal of this study. Frequency analysis, descriptive statistics, reliability verification, correlation analysis, and regression analysis were conducted on the data collected through the survey by using the SPSS program, and the research results were derived as below. First, it showed that father's play belief and play participation have a positive effect on child's playfulness of physical spontaneity, social spontaneity, cognitive spontaneity, expression of joy, and a sense of humor. Second, father's play participation had a significant effect as a partial parameter in the relationship between father's play belief and child's playfulness. Thus, it was drawn the conclusion that father's play belief and play participation are important variables that can predict child's playfulness. Therefore, It will be necessary to promote children's playfulness development by continuously providing parent education programs on creating an atmosphere of various interaction at home through plays in the relationship between father and child and a desirable role of father in the play activities with child at the level of preschool educational institutions.

  • This study aimed to compare the Korean Activity Status Index (KASI) with the cardiopulmonary exercise test (CPET) among patients with acute myocardial infarction. A total of 2,268 patients (85.4% male; mean age, 59.3±10.2 years; range, 23-90 years) diagnosed with acute myocardial infarction were enrolled in the Regional Center Myocardial Infarction Registry between July 2016 and June 2019. The KASI is a tool used to measure functional capacity by asking patients about their ability to perform specific activities and then scoring their responses. In contrast, CPET is the gold standard for assessing the objective functional capacity in patients undergoing cardiac rehabilitation. Peak oxygen uptake (VO2peak) was used to analyze the correlation. Patients who completed two consecutive KASI and CPET evaluations during their first (KASI_1, VO2peak_1) and second visits (KASI_2, VO2peak_2) for cardiac rehabilitation were included in the study. The mean KASI_1 and KASI_2 scores were 43.3±14.3 and 49.8±13.9, respectively, and the mean VO2peak_1 and VO2peak_2 scores were 25.9±8.0 and 28.5±8.3, respectively. Both the KASI scores were significantly correlated with the measured VO2peak during each visit, with correlation coefficients of 0.385 (P<0.001) and 0.346 (P<0.001), respectively. Moreover, the KASI score and VO2peak had a linear relationship (VO2peak_1=0.22×KASI_1+16.5, P<0.001; VO2peak_2=0.21×KASI_2+18.2,VO2peak_2=0.21×KASI_2+18.2, P<0.001). This study revealed that the KASI is a valid measure for the follow-up evaluation of the functional capacity of patients. These findings suggest that VO2peak can be predicted using the KASI score in patients who do not undergo CPET.

  • Recently, Korean government has introduced Multi Metric Indices (MMI) using various biocommunity information for aquatic ecosystem monitoring and ecosystem health assessment at the national level. MMI is a key tool in national ecosystem health assessment programs. The MMI consists of indices that respond to different target environmental factors, including environmental disturbance (e.g. nutrients, hydrological and hydraulic situation of site etc.). We used zooplankton community information collected from Korean lakes to estimate the availability of candidate zooplankton MMI indices that can be used to assess lake ecosystem health. First, we modified the candidate indices proposed by the U.S. EPA to suit Korean conditions. The modified indices were subjected to individual index suitability analysis, correlation analysis with environmental variables, and redundancy analysis among indices, and 19 indices were finally selected. Taxonomic diversity was suggested to be an important indicator for all three taxonomic groups (cladoceran, copepod, rotifer), on the other hand, the indices using biomass for large cladocerans and copepods, while the indices using abundance were suggested for small cladocerans and rotifers.

  • The complexity of software products led many manufacturers to stitch open-source software for composing a product. Using open-source help reduce the development cost, but the difference in the different development life cycles makes it difficult to keep the product up-to-date. For this reason, even the patches for known vulnerabilities are not adopted quickly enough, leaving the entire product under threat. Existing studies propose to use binary differentiation techniques to determine if a product is left vulnerable against a particular vulnerability. Despite their effectiveness in finding real-world vulnerabilities, they often fail to locate the evidence of a vulnerability if it is a small function that usually is inlined at compile time. This work presents our tool FunRank which is designed to identify the short functions. Our experiments using synthesized and real-world software products show that FunRank can identify the short, inlined functions that suggest that the program is left vulnerable to a particular vulnerability.

  • As 5G is getting developed, people are getting interested in immersive content. Some predicts that immersive content may be implemented in real life such as holograms, which were only possible in movies. Holograms, which has been studied for a long time since Dennis Gabor published the basic theory in 1948, are constantly developing in a new direction with digital technology. It is developing from a traditional optical hologram, which is produced by recording the interference pattern of light to a computer generated hologram (CGH) and a digital hologram printer. In order to produce a hologram using a digital hologram printer, holographic element (Hogel) image must first be created using multi-view images. There are a method of directly photographing an actual image and a method of modeling an object using 3D graphic production tool and rendering the motion of a virtual camera to acquire a series of multi-view images. In this paper, we propose a new method of getting image, which is one of the visual effect, VFX, producing multi-view images using chroma key composition. We shoot on the green screen of actual object, suggest the overall workflow of composition with 3D computer graphic(CG) and explain the role of each step. We expected that it will be helpful in researching a new method of image acquisition in the future if all or part of the proposed workflow to be applied.

  • Digital transformation refers to the economic and social effects of digitisation and digitalisation. Although digital transformation acts as a useful tool for economic/social development and enhancing the convenience of life, it can have negative effects (misuse of personal information, ethical problems, deepening social gaps, etc.). The government is actively establishing policies to promote digital transformation to secure competitiveness and technological hegemony, however, understanding of digital transformation-related risk issues and implementing policies to prevent them are relatively slow. Thus, this study systematically identifies risk issues of the future society that can be caused by digital transformation based on quantitative analysis of media articles big data through the Embedded Topic Modeling method. Specifically, first, detailed issues of negative effects of digital transformation in major countries were identified. Then detailed issues of negative effects of artificial intelligence in major countries and Korea were identified. Further, by synthesizing the results, future direction of the government's digital transformation policies for responding the negative effects was proposed. The policy implications are as follows. First, since the negative effects of digital transformation does not only affect technological fields but also affect the overall society, such as national security, social issues, and fairness issues. Therefore, the government should not only promote the positive functions of digital transformation, but also prepare policies to counter the negative functions of digital transformation. Second, the detailed issues of future social risks of digital transformation appear differently depending on contexts, so the government should establish a policy to respond to the negative effects of digital transformation in consideration of the national and social context. Third, the government should set a major direction for responding negative effects of digital transformation to minimize confusion among stakeholders, and prepare effective policy measures.

  • With the development of IT technology, various smart products and services have been spread in our daily life, providing users with convenience and emotional satisfaction. Particularly, input and output technologies, sensor technologies, and intelligent system technologies have offered new opportunities for diverse interaction patterns and new user experiences. This research started from the interest in the idea generation of product designers who need to combine various technological aspects with users' needs. The goal of this research is to propose an interaction design framework which can be used in an idea generation stage. To do so, first, the concept and characteristics of smart products were studied through literature reviews, and the interaction technologies, including input/output modality and context-aware technologies, were also investigated. Then, the frameworks that have been proposed in the deisgn fields were reviewed. This paper finally proposed the interaction design framework and explained its application to the idea generation, using several case studies. The proposed framework consists of four categories: product components, context-awareness elements, information input elements, and feedback output elements. Each of these are divided into several sub-categories, focused on users' needs. Sub-categories includes some elements of interaction, and each of the elements is explained with an existing smart product/system. The paper also describes how the proposed framework would be used in the idea generation process, using some design ideation examples. In the future study, more various concept ideas will be proposed through some elaborated case studies, and the framework is expected to be verified in terms of its possibility as an idea generation tool.
