Goal-oriented Concolic Testing (목적 지향 콘콜릭 테스팅)

  • Concolic testing generates test data by combining concrete program execution and symbolic execution to achieve high test coverage. CREST is a representative open-source test tool implementing concolic testing. Currently, however, CREST aims at exploring all possible execution paths. In case of testing a specific branch or block, thus, it can be ineffective. This paper suggests a goal-oriented concolic testing that generates test data to execute a given branch or block.

A Development of Web-based Nameplate Production System by using Image Processing (영상처리를 이용한 웹기반 명판 가공시스템 개발)

  • In this research, a nameplate engraving system for images and texts downloaded through Internet on nameplate is developed. The system consists of two subsystems: thinning algorithm and NC code generation module. In the thinning algorithm, the concept of connectivity is used and center lines of images and texts, which will be used as NC tool paths, can be obtained successfully. Because the center lines are composed of a lot of pixels, NC code would be too long. In the NC code generation module, many useless pixel data are removed and linear interpolation algorithm is applied to only the remaining pixels. By performing actual experiments, the thinning algorithm and the NC code generation module are verified.

  • A practical approach for the assessment of system reliability-based safety and load carring capacity under vehicle traffics is proposed for the realistic evaluation of safety and rating of cable-stayed bridges. A partial event tree analysis model incorporating major critical failure paths is suggested as a practical tool for the system reliability analysis and system reliability-based capacity rating. The proposed approach for the system reliability analysis and system reliability-based rating is applied to the safety assessment of the Jindo Bridge which is one of two existing cable-stayed bridges in Korea. The results of analyses at the system level based on the system reliability are compared with those at the element level.

NURBS Surface Interpolator for Constant Cutting Forces in Ball-End Milling (볼엔드 밀링에서의 일정 절삭력을 위한 NURBS 곡면 인터폴레이터)

  • This study presents a new type of CNC interpolator that is capable of generating cutter paths for ball-end milling of NURBS surfaces. The proposed surface interpolator comprises real-time algorithms for cutter contact (CC) path scheduling and CC path interpolator. Especially in this study, a new interpolator module to regulate cutting forces is developed. This propose algorithm utilizes variable-feedrate commands along the CC path according to the curvature of machined surfaces during the interpolation process. Additionally, it proposes an OpenGL graphic library for computer graphics and animation of interpolated tool-position display. The proposed interpolator is evaluated and compared with the existing method based on constant feedrates through computer simulations.

  • Unmanned vehicles have to decide their velocities suitable for the paths which should be generated by the vehicles themselves, based on the kinematic and dynamic aspects of vehicles. For this purpose, this paper is to propose a mathematical modeling of tuning trace for the cornering of an unmanned vehicle by using normal-tangent coordinates as well as extracting the characteristics of behavior for car drivers in cornering. In the proposed modeling, the limitations of velocity can be determined based on the knowledge that the handling of drivers means the control of radius of curvature. The proposed modeling can reduce computational load and generate turning angles and velocities suitable for the cornering of unmanned vehicles.

  • Welding fabrication invariantly involves three district sequential steps: preparation, actual process execution and post-weld inspection. One of the major problems in automating these steps and developing autonomous welding system is the lack of proper sensing strategies. Conventionally, machine vision is used in robotic arc welding only for the correction of pre-taught welding paths in single pass. However, in this paper, multipass tracking more than single pass tracking is performed by conventional seam tracking algorithm and developed one. And tracking performances of two algorithm are compared in multipass tracking. As the result, tracking performance in multi-pass welding shows superior conventional seam tracking algorithm to developed one.

  • The sound transmission from the machine room where air-conditioner outdoor unit is located into the adjacent room is predicted and evaluated. The software package for statistical energy analysis(SEA) is utilized to determine the transmission losses of multi-layerd panels. To determine the noise level in the machine room, ray tracing method is adopted. The various sound transmission paths have been effectively identified and evaluated by the SEA tool.

  • Flow forming is an incremental forming process in which rollers are used to form cylindrical parts with repeated turning of both roller and starting material. Both sheet and tube can be used as the starting material. The process is highly useful for producing hollow shaped parts from a tube, with the benefit of the average strain in the final shape being significantly lower than that from a sheet material. In the present study, the flow forming process was studied and optimized for producing a hollow shaped part from seamless steel tube by both experiment and numerical analysis. Upon considering the difficulty of forming seamless steel sheet, the thickness reduction was distributed over several tool paths. In the end, an optimum process condition was attained, and the experiment verified the simulation results.

  • The study on reducing vehicle noise and vibration has gained much attention to ensure the comfortability as well as the safety. These days. in this paper, we applied Statistical Energy Analysis(SEA) to characterize the tire assembly, which is useful analytical tool for mid- and high-frequency range. First, the SEA tire model was developed by dividing the tire and the wheel into several subsystems. The material properties were estimated experimentally. Finally. the SEA model was validated by comparing the estimated and the measured. In addition, we investigated the energy level and the energy transfering paths through the tire assembly in different frequency region.
