Time Series Crime Prediction Using a Federated Machine Learning Model

  • Crime is a common social problem that affects the quality of life. As the number of crimes increases, it is necessary to build a model to predict the number of crimes that may occur in a given period, identify the characteristics of a person who may commit a particular crime, and identify places where a particular crime may occur. Data privacy is the main challenge that organizations face when building this type of predictive models. Federated learning (FL) is a promising approach that overcomes data security and privacy challenges, as it enables organizations to build a machine learning model based on distributed datasets without sharing raw data or violating data privacy. In this paper, a federated long short- term memory (LSTM) model is proposed and compared with a traditional LSTM model. Proposed model is developed using TensorFlow Federated (TFF) and the Keras API to predict the number of crimes. The proposed model is applied on the Boston crime dataset. The proposed model's parameters are fine tuned to obtain minimum loss and maximum accuracy. The proposed federated LSTM model is compared with the traditional LSTM model and found that the federated LSTM model achieved lower loss, better accuracy, and higher training time than the traditional LSTM model.

가상현실기반 재활프로그램이 뇌졸중환자의 균형에 미치는 영향 : 국내연구에 대한 메타분석 (The Effect of Virtual Reality Based Rehabilitation Program on Balance of Patient with Stroke: A Meta-analysis of Studies in Korea)

  • Purpose : The aims of this study was to conduct a systematic literature review with meta-analysis to investigate the effect of virtual reality based rehabilitation program on balance of patient with stroke in Korean studies. Method : The studies for analysis were searched in electronic databases(Research Information Sharing Service; RISS, Korean Studies Information Service; KISS, DBpia, e-articles, National Assembly Library). The key words for search were 'virtual reality', 'stroke', and 'balance' and only randomized controlled trials and clinical controlled trials were included. Of 40 studies identified in the search, 20 studies met the criteria of this study and included in this meta-analysis. Result : The results were as follows: 1) The overall effect size of virtual reality based rehabilitation program was 0.557(95% critical interval; 0.340~0.774). 2) In the analysis of sub-categorical variables, effect size was as follows; the commercial game type(0.621) > virtual environment type(0.335); the dynamic balance measurement(0.750) > static balance measurement(0.226); randomized controlled trial(0.653) > clinical controlled trial(0.275); and thesis type(0.706) > article of journal type(0.339). 3) In the analysis of sub-continuous variables, as time of program(per session) increased, the balance increased(p<0.05). Conclusion : The results of this study showed that virtual reality based rehabilitation program moderately improves the balance of stroke patient. Further studies are recommended to investigate the effect of sub-variables related to virtual reality programs on motor functions of patient with stroke.

고등교육에서의 이러닝 환경 및 콘텐츠 현황에 관한 연구 (A Study on e-Learning environment and contents in higher education)

  • The purpose of this study supports the establishment of national e-learning policy by analyzing e-learning status and current status of higher education. Enhance the competitiveness of higher education through sharing information between universities. And to improve e-learning quality management. We surveyed the current status of e-learning in 341 universities and questionnaires about e-learning content, e-learning application form, e-learning platform status was surveyed through each school's learning management system. As a result, the infrastructure of e-learning, the rate of platforms secured, and the contents are increasing gradually each year; however, still, not all students can receive the services equally. Dedicated servers and learning management systems were secured by more than 70% of general universities. In the current development status of e-learning content, multimedia, animation, and text forms are gradually decreasing, but video contents are increasing every year. Most of the online contents were used in the e-learning contents by application type, and blended learning, flipped learning, and mooc is not yet actively used since they are still in the beginning stage. Learning analysis techniques should be supported in order to easily use online learning contents such as flipped learning and mooc. We suggest that the effectiveness of e-learning should be measured and the current state of learning analysis for customized learning should be done. This study aims to contribute to the improvement of competitiveness of higher education by sharing information about e-learning among universities as a basis for improvement of e-learning policy. Future tasks are to improve the customized learning environment by adding whether the system environment for learning analysis is provided at the time of the survey.

수요대응형 교통수단 시뮬레이션 방안: Real-Time Shared-Taxi 적용예시 (A Simulation Model for Evaluating Demand Responsive Transit: Real-Time Shared-Taxi Application)

  • 수요대응형 교통수단(Demand Responsive Transit)은 변화하는 이동수요에 대응하는 탄력적인 교통수단으로 단순히 노약자와 장애인을 위한 복지교통 서비스의 영역이 아니라, 무선통신과 위치정보서비스(Location Based Service: LBS)의 발달로 인하여 도심형 수단으로 보다 효율적인 교통수단으로 자리매김하고 있다. 그러나 문전서비스(Door-to-Door)를 제공하는 수요대응형 교통수단 시뮬레이션에 적합한 상용툴의 부재로 인하여 알고리즘이나 차량 운행 요소를 면밀하게 분석하기 힘든 어려움이 있었다. 본 연구는 수요대응형 교통수단에 연관된 다양한 차량 운영계획과 알고리즘을 구현, 평가할 수 있는 시뮬레이션 환경을 제안한다. 문전서비스(Door-to-Door) 기반의 차량 운행 모형을 적용하기 위하여 확보되어야 하는 시뮬레이션 입력 데이터를 정의하고 있으며, 수요대응형 교통수단의 대표적인 범주에 속하는 실시간 합승 택시(Shared-Taxi) 서비스를 서울시 교통망과 택시 수요를 이용하여 적용하였다. 합승 택시 운행 계획을 위하여 Nearest Vehicle Dispatch(NVD)와 Insertion Heuristic(IH), 두 종류의 알고리즘을 제안하였으며, 제안된 시뮬레이션을 통하여 성능을 비교하였다. 또한, 합승(Ride-sharing)을 허용하지 않는 일반적인 택시와의 비교를 통하여 시스템 효율 향상과 서비스 품질 변화를 분석하였다.

명명 과제에서 음절 토큰 및 타입 빈도 효과 (The Syllable Type and Token Frequency Effect in Naming Task)

  • 음절 빈도 효과란 고빈도 음절로 시작되는 단어가 저빈도 음절로 시작되는 단어에 비해 어휘 판단 속도가 느리며 어휘 판단 오류율도 증가하는 효과를 의미한다. 이 효과를 유발하는 원인은 전체 단어 수준에서 활성화된 음절 이웃 단어의 방해로 알려져 있으며 이 방해의 크기는 표적 단어가 얼마나 많은 음절 이웃 단어를 또는 얼마나 강력한 음절 이웃 단어를 가지고 있는지에 의해 결정된다. 그러나 음절 빈도의 정의가 음절 타입 빈도와 토큰 빈도로 구분됨에도 불구하고 이를 구분하지 않고 많은 연구들이 수행되어 왔다. 최근 Conrad, Carreiras, & Jacobs(2008)에 따르면 음절 토큰 빈도는 전체 단어 처리 수준을 반영하는 변인이며 음절 타입 빈도는 하위 어휘 처리 수준의 음절 처리 수준을 반영하는 변인일 수 있다고 주장하였다. 이에 본 연구는 이들의 주장이 맞다면 음절 타입 빈도는 단어 명명 속도를 촉진 시킬 것이며 반대로 음절 토큰 빈도는 명명 시간과 관련 없을 것이라고 예측하였다. 왜냐하면 표기 심도가 얕고 음절의 경계가 명확한 언어에서 명명 과제는 전체 단어수준을 덜 참고하기 때문이었다. 실험 1결과에서 음절 토큰 빈도를 통제한 상태에서 고빈도 타입음절의 단어 명명 시간은 유의미하게 짧았다. 실험 2에서 음절 타입 빈도를 통제한 상태에서 음절토큰 빈도의 증가는 명명 시간을 역시 단축시켰다. 이에 본 연구는 음절 토큰 빈도가 하위 어휘 처리와 무관하다는 Conrad, Carreiras, & Jacobs(2008)의 주장을 반박하였다.

비대칭정보하에서의 최적계약 도출 -에너지절약시장 (Third-Party Financing Contracts Between Energy Users and Energy Saving Companies)

  • 제3자재원조달 계약의 과정이 1단계 신호발생 게임과 2단계 주인-대리인 게임 등 2단계 게임 모형을 통해 분석된다. 2단계 게임의 해는 역진귀납법을 통해 구해진다. 2단계 게임에서, 에너지절약기업의 최적 노력수준, 에너지 사용자의 최적 보상 체계, 그리고 두 경기자의 보수는 각각의 부분게임에서 도출된다. 이렇게 해서 도출된 각각의 부분게임의 최적해는 서로 비교된다. 그 결과 우리는 만약 에너지절약기업의 수입을 감소하는 비율로 증가시키는 누진적인 판매세와 같은 에너지절약기업의 수입에 대한 제약이 존재한다면, 최적 분배 비율은 선형 보상 체계에서 'I'보다 작은 수준에서 유일하게 결정된다는 것을 알게 되었다. 즉 유일한 균형이 존재한다는 것이다. 부분게임 각각의 경우에 대한 자기충족적인 유일한 균형은 분리균형인 바, 이 균형에서 에너지사용자는 높은 기술수준을 보유하고 있는 에너지절약기업(H형 ESCO)의 에너지진단 제안은 받아들이되, 낮은 기술수준을 보유한 에너지절약기업(L형 ESCO)의 진단제안은 거절한다. L형 ESCO는 제3자 재원조달 시장에서 수익을 창출할 수 없게 된다. 반면, H형 ESCO는 L형과 H형의 진단수수료의 차이만큼 수익을 얻게 된다. 따라서 H형 ESCO의 균형에서의 수익은 자신의 기술수준뿐만 아니라 L형보다 더 빠르게 진보된 기술수준을 통해서 증가하게 된다. 에너지사용자는 어떠한 추가비용을 지출하지도 않으면서 기존 자신의 에너지시스템에서 ESCO가 3자재원조달 임무를 하도록 허용함으로써 일정분의 수익을 얻게 된다.

현대 국내 업무공간의 특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Characteristics of Domestic Contemporary Office Space)

  • The development of digital culture has brought radical change in the fundamental concept of what workspace is defined by and has also switched the cognition of workspace originally being a place to spend time and do activities regarding tasks into space more than just that. If we take a look at the cases overseas firms have announced after the year 2000, we can find distinguishing facts different from the existing workspace composition, like creative workspace, amusement workspace, workspace for communities, etc. Thereupon, the goal of this research is to look into the domestic characteristics of workspace by investigating and analyzing case by case targeting domestic firms. This research is to first comprehend the theoretical study of workspace, the changing environment, and the characteristics of domestic workspace, going on to utilizing the information achieved above to analyze 8 appointed domestic firms as examples. Contemporary domestic workspace is defined not a place only for activities regarding work tasks but rather a place comfortable and friendly in the concept of a second residence, community node for sharing knowledge and information, mobile space for the digital nomads, and space for coincidental encountering and communication. Based on this the analyzed characteristics of contemporary domestic work places are metaphor, convergence, beyond boundary, and emergence. The characteristics mentioned above are considered elements that increase corporate profits by managing efficient smart-work and producing creative ideas. Therefore, I believe continuous research and development related to this subject is necessary.

뇌졸중 환자에게 적용한 로봇보행 재활훈련의 효과: 메타분석 (The Effects of Robot-Assisted Gait Training for the Patient With Post Stroke: A Meta-Analysis)

  • Robot-assisted rehabilitation therapy has been used to increase physical function in post-stroke patients. The aim of this meta-analysis was to identify whether robot-assisted gait training can improve patients' functional abilities. A comprehensive search was performed of PubMed, Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials (CENTRAL), Physiotherapy Evidence Database (PEDro), Academic Search Premier (ASP), ScienceDirect, Korean Studies Information Service System (KISS), Research Information Sharing Service (RISS), Korea National Library, and the Korean Medical Database up to April, 2014. Fifteen eligible studies researched the effects of robot-assisted gait training to a control group. All outcome measures were classified by International Classification of Functioning, Disability, and Health (ICF) domains (body function and structures, activity, and participation) and were pooled for calculating the effect size. The overall effect size of the robot-assisted gait training was .356 [95% confidence interval (CI): .186~.526]. When the effect was compared by the type of electromechanical robot, Gait Trainer (GT) (.471, 95% CI: .320~.621) showed more effective than Lokomat (.169, 95% CI: .063~.275). In addition, acute stroke patients showed more improvement than others. Although robot-assisted gait training may improve function, but there is no scientific evidence about the appropriate treatment time for one session or the appropriate duration of treatment. Additional researchers are needed to include more well-designed trials in order to resolve these uncertainties.

한국(韓國) 고대(古代) 가계의 기능(機能)과 의미(意味) (The Functions and Meanings of Korea Ancient Gagye)

  • Korea Ancient Gagye in Clothing history has the following meanings with ceremonial, social, and aesthetic aspects, related to symbolism of its formality and procedures, flexibility about social aspects, and clothing beauty. First, Gagye must be worn in formal ceremonies with its clothes. Different Gagye in different time and place means the symbolism of its formality and ceremonies. Gagye played a big role as a means to carry out national ceremonies In diplomatic relationship with China. Second, Korea Ancient Gagye had been worn in every class irrespective of social status. Because it could be worn reflecting personal preferences even in old communities. Additionally Gagye had flexibility to reflect the historical aspects and improved various Gagye types reflecting Buddhism and practical science. So Gagye becomes significant sharing the common value with Korea Clothing culture. Third, Korea Ancient Gagye developed aesthetic spirit concerning beauty of Clothing. In the Age of the Three States, Clothing and Gagye types kept balanced and made good harmony. Gagye had gotten little exaggerated and expanded and become changed into loaded hair type.

글로벌 패션 유튜버의 콘텐츠 유형과 특성에 관한 사례연구 (A case study on the content types and characteristics of global fashion YouTubers)

  • With YouTube's overwhelming share of the market, research on analyzing the types of content on YouTube is essential. An analysis of major global fashion YouTubers that the types of video content could be largely classified into three main categories: Fashion, beauty and daily life. The fashion category was subdivided into styling and fashion product review content type. The beauty category was subdivided into tutorials, beauty product reviews, and beauty tip content types. The daily life category was subdivided into daily sharing, consultation, and Q & A content types. Video content within fashion YouTuber channels is accompanied by expertise in fashion and beauty. At the same time, videos on daily life are uploaded, and through interactive communication with viewers, YouTubers form an intimate bond with subscribers. Content emphasizing entertainment, not just information delivery that introduces fashion products, is attracting growing interest among subscribers. This study analyzed the content of the increasingly popular fashion YouTuber channels and determined its important characteristics. The study makes a significant contribution to academic research by laying a foundation for future studies of YouTube content in the fashion field. Since differences in country of birth and race among YouTubers may influence content production, follow-up research will be conducted on the types and characteristics of domestic fashion YouTubers.
