The timing do-skew modeling and design in a high speed digital system (고속 디지털 시스템에서 전달 시간차의 보정 모델링 및 구현)

  • In this paper, the timing do-skew modeling for a high speed logic tester channels is developed. The time delay of each channel in a logic tester are different from other channels and it can produce timing error in a test. To get the best timing accuracy in the test with a logic tester, the timing skew must be compensated. The timing skew of channels is due to the difference of time delay of pin-electronics devices composing channels and length of metal line placed on PCB. The expected timing difference of channels can be calculated according to the specifications of pin electronics devices and strip line modeling of PCB. With the calculated delay time, the timing skew compensation circuit has been designed. With the timing skew compensation circuit, the timing calibration of a logic tester can be peformed easily and automatically without other time measuring instruments. The calibration method can then be directly applied to logic testers in mass production lines.

  • The purpose of this research is to observe that the acoustic characters of classroom have some difference by several conditions. TSP has used to measure impulse response and such physical indexes as RT(Reverberation Time), D$\sub$50/, and STI(Speech-Transmission-Index) are computed by it. we investigate difference under some conditions such as when students were present at each classroom and when was not so, and when professor used a microphone and unused it. In this study, we found that reverberation time when people take a seat is lower than was not so. we wish to help one who work for construction industry, as they build a kind of classroom

  • A novel structure of fast locking phase locked loop (PLL) with time difference detector and Lock status indicator (LSI) is proposed in this paper. Fast locking time is achieved using LSI. It has been simulated and proved by HSPICE in a CMOS $0.18{\mu}m$ 1.8V process.

  • The purpose of this paper is to establish some sufficient conditions for oscillation of solutions of the second-order functional dynamic equation of Emden-Fowler type $\[a(t)x^{\Delta}(t)\]^{\Delta}+p(t)|x^{\gamma}(\tau(t))|\|x^{\Delta}(t)\|^{1-\gamma}$ $sgnx(\tau(t))=0$, $t\;{\geq}\;t_0$, on a time scale $\mathbb{T}$, where ${\gamma}\;{\in}\;(0,\;1]$, a, p and $\tau$ are positive rd-continuous functions defined on $\mathbb{T}$, and $lim_{t{\rightarrow}{\infty}}\;{\tau}(t)\;=\;\infty$. Our results include some previously obtained results for differential equations when $\mathbb{T}=\mathbb{R}$. When $\mathbb{T}=\mathbb{N}$ and $\mathbb{T}=q^{\mathbb{N}_0}=\{q^t\;:\;t\;{\in}\;\mathbb{N}_0\}$ where q > 1, the results are essentially new for difference and q-difference equations and can be applied on different types of time scales. Some examples are worked out to demonstrate the main results.

  • This paper presents an implementation of real-time speaker localization using audio-visual information. Four channels of microphone signals are processed to detect vertical as well as horizontal speaker positions. At first short-time average magnitude difference function(AMDF) signals are used to determine whether the microphone signals are human voices or not. And then the orientation and distance information of the sound sources can be obtained through interaural time difference. Finally visual information by a camera helps get finer tuning of the angles to speaker. Experimental results of the real-time localization system show that the performance improves to 99.6% compared to the rate of 88.8% when only the audio information is used.

  • This paper for real time object tracking in this treatise detect histogram analysis that is accumulation value of binary conversion density and edge information and body that move by real time use of difference Image techniques and proposed method to object tracking. Firstly, we extract edge that can reduce quantity of data keeping information about form of input image in object detection. Object is extracted by performing difference image and binarization in edge image. Area of detected object is determined by threshold value that divide sum of horizontal accumulation value about binary conversion density by value that add horizontalityㆍverticality maximum accumulation value. Object is tracked by comparing similarity with object that is detected in previous frame and present frame. As experiment result, proposed algorithm could improve the object detection speed, and could track object by real time and could track local movement.

Comparative Study on the Time Perspective between Korean and American College Students (한국과 미국 대학생의 시간전망에 대한 비교연구)

  • This paper compares the time perspective between Korean and American college students and examines the difference of it according to gender and social status of them. The subject of this study were 385 Korean students and 385 American counterparts. The data were collected by survey with questionnaires and analyzed by SPSS program for the frequency, percentile, mean, standard deviation, t-test, one-way ANOVA and Duncan test. The results indicate that American students have more long-term personal direction than Korean counterparts and the effects of gender and social status are different in Korea and America. Korean students showed no difference according to these two variables but female America students indicate more long-term personal direction than male students and the time perspectives were different according to social status in America.

  • Because of high torque and easiness of speed control, Direct Current(DC) motors have been used for a long time. But, its applications are limited in circumstance and performance, since they contained brush and commutator. The commutation characteristic gives effect to life and performance of the DC motor. Naturally, the commutation characteristic analysis is strongly required. In this paper, With the result of finite element analysis, The inductance is calculated each rotor position and applied to the voltage equations coupled with commutation equation. Also, contact resistances of brush/commutator assembly are considered using contact area and brush width converted with commutator segments. The time derivative term in the differential equation is solved in time difference method. This algorithm was applied to 2-pole shunt DC motor. We considered commutation characteristic by changing contact resistance between brush and commutator segment.

Depiction of Acute Stroke Using 3-Tesla Clinical Amide Proton Transfer Imaging: Saturation Time Optimization Using an in vivo Rat Stroke Model, and a Preliminary Study in Human

  • Purpose: To optimize the saturation time and maximizing the pH-weighted difference between the normal and ischemic brain regions, on 3-tesla amide proton transfer (APT) imaging using an in vivo rat model. Materials and Methods: Three male Wistar rats underwent middle cerebral artery occlusion, and were examined in a 3-tesla magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scanner. APT imaging acquisition was performed with 3-dimensional turbo spin-echo imaging, using a 32-channel head coil and 2-channel parallel radiofrequency transmission. An off-resonance radiofrequency pulse was applied with a Sinc-Gauss pulse at a $B_{1,rms}$ amplitude of $1.2{\mu}T$ using a 2-channel parallel transmission. Saturation times of 3, 4, or 5 s were tested. The APT effect was quantified using the magnetization-transfer-ratio asymmetry at 3.5 ppm with respect to the water resonance (APT-weighted signal), and compared with the normal and ischemic regions. The result was then applied to an acute stroke patient to evaluate feasibility. Results: Visual detection of ischemic regions was achieved with the 3-, 4-, and 5-s protocols. Among the different saturation times at $1.2{\mu}T$ power, 4 s showed the maximum difference between the ischemic and normal regions (-0.95%, P = 0.029). The APTw signal difference for 3 and 5 s was -0.9% and -0.7%, respectively. The 4-s saturation time protocol also successfully depicted the pH-weighted differences in an acute stroke patient. Conclusion: For 3-tesla turbo spin-echo APT imaging, the maximal pH-weighted difference achieved when using the $1.2{\mu}T$ power, was with the 4 s saturation time. This protocol will be helpful to depict pH-weighted difference in stroke patients in clinical settings.

  • Thermoforming is one of the most versatile and economical process to produce polymer products. The drawback of thermoforming is difficult to control thickness of final products. Temperature distribution affects the thickness distribution of final products, but temperature difference between surface and center of sheet is difficult to decrease because of low thermal conductivity of ABS material. In order to decrease temperature difference between surface and center, heating profile must be expressed as exponential function form. In this study, Finite Difference Method was used to find out the coefficients of optimal heating profiles. Through investigation, the optimal results using Finite Difference Method show that temperature difference between surface and center of sheet can be remarkably minimized with satisfying Temperature of Forming Window.
