저온 소결성이 우수한 Pb(Zr0.53Ti0.47)O3 계 압전 분말 제조 (The preparation of Pb(Zr0.53Ti0.47)O3 powders for low temperature densification)

  • $Pb(Zr_{0.53}Ti_{0.47})O_3$ (PZT) was synthesized by a multiple wet dry process. Precipitates prepared from reaction between $ZrOCl_2{\cdot}8H_2O$ and $TiOCl_2$ and $NH_4OH$ in an aqueous solution was dried at $100^{\circ}C$, and calcined at $500^{\circ}C$ and $700^{\circ}C$. The mixture mixed with PbO and as-dried or calcined $Zr_{0.53}Ti_{0.47}O_4$ (ZT) powders was calcined again at 700 and $800^{\circ}C$. Well crystallized ZT and PZT were formed at even $700^{\circ}C$. PZT piezoelectric ceramics of more than 98.5% in a relative density was obtained by sintering at as low as $900^{\circ}C$.

$TiB_2$-SiC 복합재료의 소결거동 (Sintering Behavior of $TiB_2$-SiC Composites)

  • The effect of SiC addition on sintering behaviors and microstructures of TiB2 ceramics were studied. The sintering of TiB2 was limited due to the surface diffusion and rapid grain growth at high temperature. However the addition of SiC to TiB2 ceramics improved the densification to above 99% of the theoretical density. The sintering of TiB2-SiC composite starts at 120$0^{\circ}C$ with the melting of the oxides in particle surface as impurities. After the reduction of the oxide by additional cabon at above 140$0^{\circ}C$, the grain boundary diffusion through the interface of TiB2-SiC play an important role. TEM observation showed neither chemical reactions nor other phases formed at the TiB2-SiC interfaces but the microcracks were observed due to the mismatch of thermal expansion between TiB2-SiC.

  • In this work, nanoporous $TiO_2$ powder was fabricated using Ketjen black, and applied in photovoltaic device based on the Dye-sensitized Solar Cells (DSCs). $TiO_2$ powder was fabricated using Ti-isopropoxide and 2-propanol by sol-gel combustion method. For added $0{\sim}2g$ variable of Ketjen black, characteristic of porosity, size of particle and crystallite of obtained $TiO_2$ nano powder was investigated. The photovoltaic efficiency of the prepared DSCs was measured using $TiO_2$ film which prepared on each different heat treatment temperature($100^{\circ}C{\sim}600^{\circ}C$) with paste of $TiO_2$ powder. The porosity and size in particle of $TiO_2$ powder made with Ketjen black Ig was influenced significantly effect to DSCs characteristic. Heat treatment at $500^{\circ}C$ makes the better photovoltaic efficiency which around 6.11%($J_{sc}=13.35mA/cm^2$, $V_{oc}=0.73V$, ff=0.63). The sol-gel combustion method was useful to DSCs fabrication.

  • Hybrid $A1_2O_3-TiC$ ceramic particle reinforced 6061 and 5083 Al composite powders were prepared by the combination of twin rolling and stone mill crushing process, followed by consolidating processes of cold compaction, degassing and hot extrusion. The composite bar consists of lamellar structure of ceramic particle rich area and matrix area, in which the hybrid was decomposed into each TiC of about $3-4\mutextrm{m}$ and $AI_2O_3$ particles of about $1-2\mutextrm{m}$ in diameter. It also found that fine $Mg_2Si$ precipitates of about 30 nm were embedded in the matrix, which have grains of about 3 $\mutextrm{m}$. Higher UTS was measured at the 5083 composite bar compared to the conventionally fabricated composite, due to again refinement effect by the rapid solidification. No particle was shown to form in the interface between the matrix and reinforcement, whereas carbon was diffused into the matrix.

  • The objective of this work was to investigate the effects of SiC particle size(50, 100 ${\mu}m$) and additional elements such as Si, Cu and Ti on aging behavior in Al-5Mg-X(Si,Cu,Ti)/SiCp composites fabricated by pressureless infiltration method using hardness and wear test, scanning electron microscopy(SEM) and differential scanning calorimetry(DSC). The peak aging time in Al-5Mg-X(Si, Cu, Ti)/SiCp(50, 100 ${\mu}m$) composites is shorter than Al-5Mg-0.3Si alloy.The peak aging time of 50 ${\mu}m$ SiC particle reinforced Al-5Mg-X(Si,Cu,Ti) composites is shorter than those of 100 ${\mu}m$ SiC particle reinforced of Al-5Mg-X(Si,Cu,Ti) composites. The Al-5Mg-0.3Si-0.1Cu-0.1Ti/SiCp(50 ${\mu}m$) composites aged at $180^{\circ}C$ has higher hardness and better wear resistance than any other aged composite.The aging effect is promoted by the addition of Si and Cu in Al-5Mg/SiCp composites, so the wear resistance of Al-5Mg/SiCp composites with Si and Cu elements is enhanced by the aging treatment.

  • Nanoparticle size of Titanium dioxide thin films was prepared by novel method. Particle size and surface structure of $TiO_2$ thin films were investigated by atomic force microscopy(AFM), scanning electron microscopy(SEM). All thin films process were prepared at room temperature. Particle size was reduced from 100 to 30nm with increasing amount of $Ti[OCH(CH_3)_2]_4$ observed by AFM images. All thin films were irradiated for 5 minutes by white light. Increasing the annealing temperature, particles size was increased. In the $TiO_2$(40%) thin films was annealed at $300^{\circ}C$ for 30minutes, the particle size was about 10nm.

  • The characteristic of calcined BaTiO3 powder and sintered PTC ceramics was investigated varing with calcination temperature and time of BaTiO(C2O4)2.4H2O synthesized from BaCl2.2H2O, TiCl4, oxalic acid and ethanol by oxalic acid method. When the particle size was less than 0.1 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ by controlling calcination temperature and time, the resistance at room temperature was measured very high (above M{{{{ OMEGA }}). However, when the calcined particle sizes ranged from 0.2 to 0.3 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$, the resistance was 100 {{{{ OMEGA }} (After sintering, the grain size was 10~30 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ homogeneously with the addition of dopant in sintering, the resistivity, resistance, $\alpha$ value and jumped to were 110{{{{ OMEGA }}.cm, 24$^{\circ}C$/% and 106{{{{ OMEGA }}, respectively.

  • In order to improve the performance of electrodeposited diamond-nickel composite, surface modification of diamond particles was carried out using powder immersion reaction assisted coating (PIRAC). Titanium and chromium were selected as coating elements, which are known as carbide former. With respect to the powder elements, various phases were formed on diamond; metallic Ti and TiC for Ti powder, $Cr_3C_2$ for Cr powder, and TiC and $Cr_3C_2$ for Ti-Cr mixed powder. Surface modified diamond particle showed higher specific surface area, especially Ti coating induced considerable increase of specific surface area. The increase of specific surface area suggests increase of surface roughness, and that was confirmed by surface observation using FE-SEM. In addition, wear properties of diamond-nickel composite including surface modified diamonds were improved, and Ti coated diamond showed the highest performance. The wear property of diamond-nickel composite is dependent on adhesion strength between diamond particle and nickel layer. Therefore, surface modification of diamond particle by PIRAC increasing surface roughness is effective to improve the properties of diamond-nickel composite.

SHS 마이크로파에 의한 (Ti.Si)C 복합체의 합성 및 소결특성에 관한 연구 (Study on Synthesis and Characterization of (Ti.Si)C Composite by SHS Microwave)

  • (Ti.Si)C composite powders were synthesized by SHS method using microwave energy. Compositional and structural characterization of the powder were carried out by using scanning electron microscopy and X-ray diffraction. The average particle size of the synthesized (Ti.Si)C composite powders was smaller than that of the starting materials. From the results of the temperature profile, combustion temperature and velocity were decreased with increasing Si molar ratio. With increasing C molar ratio combustion temperature and velocity did not change. (Ti.Si)C composite was sintered at 185$0^{\circ}C$ for 60 min by using hot-pressing with 30 MPa. The best properties were obtained from the sintered specimen whose composition was 1 : 1 : 1.9 molar ratio of Ti : Si : C. The sintering density, flexural strength and vickers hardness of the sintered body were 4.71 g/㎤, 423 MPa and 21 GPa, respectively.

  • The wear behavior and the mechanical property of Cu-$TiB_2$ composites were examined. Cu-$TiB_2$ composites were fabricated by hot extrusion and cold drawing with $TiB_2$ contents(1$\∼$5vol.$\%$) and the size of $TiB_2$ particles(10$\mu$m and 20$\mu$m). The pin-an-disk wear test was carried out under dry sliding wear conditions which loads varied with from 20N to 100N. At the time, counterpart wear material used SM45C. The experimental results showed that the friction coefficient and wear rate decreased with increasing the $TiB_2$ contents and decreasing the size of $TiB_2$ particle. Also, the depth of plastically deformed zone decreased with increasing the $TiB_2$ contents and decreasing the size of $TiB_2$ particle.
