스퍼터링 방법을 이용한 SrTiO$_3$박막의 저항을 특성 (The Resistivity Properties of SrTiO$_3$ Thin Films by Sputtering method.)

  • The objective of this study Is to deposited the preparation of SrTiO$_3$3 dielectric thin films on Ag/barrier-mater/Si(N-type 100) bottom electrode using a conventional rf-magnetron sputtering technique with a ceramic target under various conditions. It is demonstrated that the leakage current of films are strongly dependent on the atmosphere during deposition and the substrate temperature. The resistivity properties of films deposited on silicon substrates were very high resistivity. Capacitance of the films properties were the highest value(1000pF) and dependent on substrate temperature.

Influence of Nanoporous Oxide Substrate on the Performance of Photoelectrode in Semiconductor-Sensitized Solar Cells

  • Oxide substrates in semiconductor-sensitized solar cells (SSSCs) have a great impact on their performance. $TiO_2$ has long been utilized as an oxide substrate, and other alternatives such as ZnO and $SnO_2$ have also been explored due to their superior physical properties over $TiO_2$. In the development of high-performance SSSCs, it is of significant importance to understand the effect of oxides on the electron injection and charge recombination as these two are major factors in dictating solar cell performance. In addition, elucidating the relationship between these two critical processes and solar cell performance in each oxide is critical in building up the basic foundation of SSSCs. In this study, ultrafast pump-probe laser spectroscopy and open-circuit decay analysis were conducted to examine the characteristics of three representative oxides ($TiO_2$, ZnO, and $SnO_2$) in terms of electron injection kinetics and charge recombination, and the implication of results is discussed.

A Study on the Dielctric Properties of the PTC $BaTiO_3$ Ceramic Thin Films

  • The films were deposited at evaporator system and were annealed at heat treatment. The films had a dense microstructure with fine grains. The electrical properties of the films were dramatically controlled with annealing. Samples Preparation were analyzed in term of positive temperature coefficient of Resistivity Samples were made in the substrate tempera-true of $400^{\circ}C$ deposition time of 10 hours, and forward power of 210watt. R-T(resistivity-temperature) Characteristics of the samples were investigated as a function of the substrate type and the ambient temperature. The resistivity of the thin film specimens was compared with that of the bulk type specimens. By using RF/DC magnetron sputtering system, we obtained lower resistivity in the thermistor with thin $BaTiO_3$ film than that in the bulk type thermistor.

  • Wear resistant TiAlN thin film has been widely deposited on the surface of cutting and forming tools by using Arc Ion Plating. TiAlN films are deposited by the processes designed by the Taguchi L18 experimental design. The L18 experimental design is applied to achieve surface properties and adhesion. The deposition parameters are working pressure, substrate temperature, bias voltage, arc power and pre-sputtering bias voltage and time. The most influential parameters on surface properties and adhesion are substrate bias voltage, working nitrogen pressure and arc power. The optimal coating processes are obtained for surface properties and adhesion.

TiN 컬러코팅에 미치는 공정변수의 영향

  • 본 연구에서는 CFUBMS (Closed Field Unbalanced Magnetron Sputtering) 방법을 사용하여 TiN 박막을 합성하는 과정에서 TiN 박막의 색상을 결정하는 공정변수(질소량, Substrate Bias, Target power, 합성 온도)의 영향에 관하여 연구하였다. 합성된 박막은 UV-vis spectrophotometer, AFM, XRD를 통하여 특성을 분석하였다. 공정변수 가운데 Target power의 변화와 합성온도의 변화는 합성된 박막의 색 변화에 크게 영향을 미치지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 반면에 질소량의 변화와 Substrate bias 변화에 따라서는 색의 변화가 크게 나타났으며, 박막의 격자상수 차이로 인한 격자 간격에 차이가 생겨서 박막의 색이 붉은 갈색으로 변화게 됨을 확인 할 수 있었다. 한편 변수의 크기가 증가함에 따라 RMS가 증가하면서 $L{\ast}(brightness)$이 감소하게 되고 합성된 박막의 색은 노란색에서 붉은색으로 변화되는 결과를 확인할 수 있었다.

표면전처리가 반응성 스퍼터링법으로 제조한 TiN 코팅층의 밀착력에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Surface Pretreatments on Adhesion Strength of TiN Films by DC Magnetron Sputtering)

  • Titanium nitride coatings were deposited onto SUS304 stainless steel substrates pretreated by mechanical scrubbing, chemical etching at 50% HCl solution and Ar ion etching. Adhesion strength were measured by scratch tester and confirmed by SEM with EDS. Adhesion strength of Ar ion etched substrate was 10 to 15 times higher than that of mechanical scrubbed or chemical etched substrate. Ar ion etching brought about an uniform and fine spherical shaped surface, while chemical etching gave rise to a rough and irregular surface on SEM micrograph. It was suggested that higher adhesion strength might be caused by anchoring effect of Ar ion etched surface prior to TiN deposition.

AISI 304 스테인리스강에 코팅된 Ti/TiN film의 공식거동 (Pitting Behavior of Ti/TiN Film Coated onto AISI 304 Stainless Steel)

  • Effects of Ti content and Ti underlayer on the pitting behavior of TiN coated AISI 304 stainless steel have been studied. The stainless steel containing 0.1~1.0wt% Ti were melted with a vacuum melting furnace and heat treated at $1050^{\circ}C$ for 1hr for solutionization. The specimen were coated with l$\mu\textrm{m}$ and 2$\mu\textrm{m}$ thickness of Ti and TiN by E-beam PVD method. The microstructure and phase analysis were conducted by using XRD, XPS and SEM with these specimen. XRD patterns shows that in TiN single-layer only the TiN (111) Peak is major and the other peaks are very weak, but in Ti/TiN double-layer TiN (220) and TiN (200) peaks are developed. It is observed that the surface of coating is covered with titanium oxide (TiO$_2$) and titanium oxynitride ($TiO_2$N) as well as TiN. Corrosion potential on the anodic polarization curve measured in HCl solution increase in proportion to the Ti content of substrate and by a presence of the Ti underlayer, whereas corrosion and passivation current densities are not affected by either of them. The number and size of pits decrease with increasing Ti content and a presence of the coated Ti film as underlayer in the TiN coated stainless steel.

  • The paraelectric cubic-to-ferroelectric tetragonal phase transition of the thin Pb(Zr, Ti)$O_3$ (PZT) films grown on MgO(001) substrate was investigated in a series of synchrotron x-ray scattering experiments. As the thickness of the film decreases the transition temperature and the amount of the tetragonal distortion were decreased continuously Different from only the c-domains were existent in the thinnest 25nm thick film. Based on this we propose a model for the domain structure of the tetragonal PZT/MgO(100) film that is very different from the ones suggested in literature. We attribute the suppression of the transition to the substrate field that prefers the c-type domains near the interface and suppresses the tetragonal distortion to minimize the film-substrate lattice mismatch.

  • We present investigations of the surface micromachining for transparent glass substrate, e.g. soda lime glass using tightly focused 800nm Ti:sapphire femtosecond laser. In this study, experiment conditions such as laser intensity, scanning speed, focus position were controlled as variable parameters to decide optimal machining conditions. This study shows clearly that laser intensity and scanning speed are dominant factors for good surface morphology. Using the optimal conditions, grooves with 50${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ line width were fabricated on glass substrate and their surface morphologies were investigated from SEM image.

  • High Tc Supperconducting thin films were fabricated by rf magnetron sputtering method. We have successfully controlled the compositions of films by adding sintered CuO pellets on YBa2Cu3O7-x single target. High Tc thin films with large grian size and good crystal habit were obtained by rapid thermal annealing process. The films deposited on SrTiO3(100) single crystal substrate indicated the existence of c-axis prefered orientation confirmed by XRD and SEM analysis. The Tc, zero's of sharp resistive transition for rapid annealed films deposited on polycrystalline YSZ substrate and on SrTiO3(100) single crystal substrate were 79K and 88K, respectively.
