  • 초음파 분무 열분해법에 의해 합성된 Pb(Zr, Ti)O$_3$미분말의 원료염의 종류에 따른 상과 모양의 변화에 대해 조사했다. 질산염, 초산염, 알콕사이드등의 조합으로 만들어진 원료용액으로부터 합성된 미분말은 약간의 PbTiO$_3$를 포함하거나 포함하지 않는 Pb(Zr, Ti)O$_3$, 상을 나타내었다. 구형 이차입자의 표면에서 발견되는 표면 기공은 질산염의 함량증가에 따라 증가되며, 그 생성은 질산염의 열분해 특성에 기인되는 것으로 해석된다. 본 연구에서 초음파 분무 열분해법으로 합성된 미분말의상, 모양등의 분말특성을 고려할 때, Pb의 원료로서는 acetate, Zr의 원료로서는 oxyacetate, Ti의 원료로서는 oxynitrate 혹은 (iso-propoxide +acetylacetonate)가 적합한 것으로 판단된다.

치과주조용 Ti-X%Zr(X=10,20,40)합금의 연삭성 (Grindability of Cast Ti-X%Zr(X=10,20,40) Alloys for Dental Applications)

  • Purpose: The grindability of binary Ti-X%Zr(X=10,20,40) alloys in order to develop a Ti alloy with better machinability than unalloyed titanium has been evaluated. Methods: Experimental Ti-Zr alloys were made in an argon-arc melting furnace. Slabs of experimental alloys were ground using a SiC abrasive wheel on an electric handpiece at circumferential speeds(12000,18000,25000 or 30000rpm) by applying a force(200gr). Grinding rate was evaluated by measuring the amount of metal volume removed after grinding for 1 minute and the volume ratio of metal removed compared to the wheel material lost, which was calculated from the diameter loss (grinding ratio). Experimental datas were compared to those for cp Ti(commercially pure titanium) and Ti-6%Al-4%V alloy were used controls. Results: It was observed that the grindability of Ti-Zr alloys increased with an increase in the Zr concentration. More, they are higher than cp Ti, particularly the Ti-20%Zr alloy exhibited the highest grindability at all circumferential speeds. There was significant difference in the grinding rate and grinding ratio between Ti-20%Zr alloy and cp Ti at any speed(p<0.05). Conclusion: By alloying with Zr, the Ti exhibited better grindability at all circumferential speeds. the Ti-20%Zr alloy has a great potential for use as a dental machining alloy.

  • Microstructural and corresponding hardness changes of TiFe compounds with Zr (0~6 at%) or Ce (0~3 at%) were studied using samples prepared at different solidification rates. In arc-melted (TiFe)-Zr samples, the $Fe_{23}$ $Zr_6$ and $(Ti,\;Zr)_2Fe$ phases formed in the TiFe matrix, while in the (TiFe)-Ce sample, the $CeO_2$ phase formed along the grain boundary of the TiFe matrix. As the Zr content was increased, the volume fractions of the $Fe_{23}$ $Zr_6$ and $(Ti,\;Zr)_2Fe$ phases increased, forming a network structure. Accordingly, the hardness values of the samples also increased. With a small addition of Ce of approximately 0.1 at%, the as-cast microstructure could be effectively refined, reducing the average grain boundary diameter from ${\sim}100{\mu}m$ to ${\sim}14{\mu}m$. In the rapidly solidified sample prepared through a melt-spinning method, the constituent phases were identical to those of the arc-melted samples while the grains were refined. The microstructural changes of TiFe alloys can affect the hydrogen storage ability as well as the mobility of the hydrogen atoms in the alloys.

  • The effect of additions, $TiO_2$ and $ZrO_2$ as nucleant on the base glass which composition was determined to 0.97 $Li_2O-Al_2O_3-SiO_2$ has been investigated by means of D.T.A., X-ray diffraction and dilatation. $TiO_2$ and $ZrO_2$ as nucleant were added 0.06mole, in which ratios of $TiO_2$/$ZrO_2$ were varied 1/0, 2/1, 1/1, 1/2 and 0/1. The crystalline phases were appeared to $\beta$-spodumene as principal, $\beta$-eucryptite and $ZrO_2$ as secondary, regardless of nucleant variations. The crystallinity of the crystallized glass added $TiO_2$, $ZrO_2$ mixture as nucleant was higher than that of the glass added $TiO_2$ or $ZrO_2$ only. The crystallinity of the glass added $TiO_2$/$ZrO_2$ =1/1 was highest. Increasing the addition of $ZrO_2$, it has been observed that the crystal growing temperature became higher.

Ca-Ce-Zr-Ti-O System에서의 파이로클로어 합성 및 상관계에 대한 연구 (Study on Phase Relation and Synthesis of Pyrochlore in the System of Ca-Ce-Zr-Ti-O)

  • 고준위 폐기물 내에 함유된 핵종을 고정화시킬 수 있는 매트릭스로써 파이로클로어$(pyrochlore;\;CaCeZr_xTi_{2-x}O_7,\;x=0.2\~2.0)$를 합성하여 상평형 관계 및 특성을 연구하였다. 합성방법은 CPS법이었으며, $1100\~1600^{\circ}C$에서 20시간 동안 가열하였다. 실험결과, 최적 합성조건은 각각의 조성에 따라 $1300\~1600^{\circ}C$로 다양하였다. 최적 합성조건에서 파이로클로어 또는 형석구조를 나타내는 산화물(이하 '형석'으로 기재)은 소량의 페롭스카이트와 더불어 $CeO_2$ 또는 $Ce_{0.75}Zr_{0.25}O_2$와 공존하였다. 또한 원조성인 $CaCeZr_xTi_{2-x}O_7$$x\leq0.6$인 경우 파이로클로어 구조가, 그리고 $x\geq0.6$에서는 형석구조가 안정한 것을 확인하였다. 특히 x값의 증가에 따라, Ca 및 Ti 성분이 결핍되었으며, 이와는 대조적으로 Zr과 Ce가 초과됨으로써 비화학양론적 조성을 나타내었다. 이러한 특성은 팔배위와 육배위를 차지하고 있는 원소들의 거동에 의한 것으로, 파이로클로어 또는 형석이 단일상이 아니라 페롭스카이트, $CeO_2$$Ce_{0.75}Zr_{0.25}O_2$와 공존하는 원인이 된 것으로 사료된다.

생체용 Ti-Zr-Pd계 합금의 양극분극특성 (Anodic Polarization Properties of Ti-Zr-Pd Based Alloys for Biomedical Applications)

  • For biomedical applications. Ti-X%Zr-Y%Pd(X: $10{\sim}20$, Y:0.2 or 0.4) based alloys not containing harmful Al and V were newly designed, and polarization curves for their alloys were measured at $37^{\circ}C$ in 5% HCl solution in order to understand effects of Zr on the corrosion. From the results of anodic polarization behavior, it was found that the corrosion resistance increased with increasing Zr content. The results show their potential to develope Ti-based alloys for biomedical materials. The Ti-20%Zr-0.2%Pd alloy shows excellent corrosion resistance and was superior to those of the Ti. Ti-6%Al-4%V ELI alloy, Co-30%Cr-6%Mo alloy and STS 316L stainless steel.

Experimental datas were compared the results with those of cp-Ti(commercially pure titanium) Results: It was observed that the grindability of Ti-10%Zr-X%Cr(X=0,1,3) alloys increased with an increase in the Cr concentration. More, they are higher than cp-Ti, particularly the Ti-10%Zr-3%Cr alloy exhibited the highest grindability at all rotational speeds except 12000rpm. There was significant difference in the grinding rate and grinding ratio between Ti-10%Zr-3%Cr alloy and cp-Ti at all rotational speeds(p<0.05). Conclusion: The Ti-10%Zr-3%Cr alloy exhibited better grindability at high rotational speeds, great potential for use as a dental machining alloy.

A STUDY ON MECHANICAL PROPERTIES OF TiN, ZrN AND WC COATED FILM ON THE TITANIUM ALLOY SURFACE

  • Statement of problems. In an attempt to reduce screw loosening, dry lubricant coatings such as pure gold or tefron have been applied to the abutment screw. However, under repeated tightening and loosening procedures, low wear resistance and adhesion strength of coating material produced free particles on the surface of abutment screw and increased frictional resistance resulting in screw tightening problems. Purpose. The aim of this study was to compare friction coefficient, adhesion strength, vickers hardness and evaluate coating surface of titanium alloy specimens coated with TiN(titanium nitride), ZrN(zirconium nitride) and WC(tungsten carbide). Material and method. Titanium alloy(Ti-6Al-4V) discs of 12mm in diameter and 1mm in thickness divided into 4 groups. TiN, ZrN and WC was coated for the specimens of 3 groups respectively, and those of 1 group were not coated. Each group was made up of 4 specimens. In this study, sputtering method was used among the PVD(Physical Vapor Deposition) techniques available for TiN, ZrN and WC coatings. Friction coefficient, adhesion strength, vickers hardness and coating surface of 4 groups were measured. Results. 1. For all three coating conditions, friction coefficient was significantly decreased. Especially, ZrN coated surface showed the lowest value. $TiN(0.39{\pm}0.02)$, $ZrN(0.24{\pm}0.01)$, $WC(0.31{\pm}0.03)$. 2. TiN coating showed the highest adhesion strength, however ZrN coating had the lowest value. $TiN(25.3N{\pm}1.6)$, $ZrN(14.8N{\pm}0.6)$, $ WC(18.4N{\pm}0.7)$. 3. Vickers hardness of all three coatings was remarkably increased as compared with that of none coated specimen. TiN coating had the highest Vickers hardness, however WC coating showed the lowest value. $TiN(1865.2{\pm}33.8)$, $ZrN(1814.4{\pm}18.6)$, $WC(1008.5{\pm}35.9)$. 4. The ZrN or WC coated specimen showed a homogeneous and smooth surface, however the rough surface with defects was observed for TiN coating. Conclusions. When TiN, ZrN and WC coating applied to the abutment screw, frictional resistance would be reduced, as a result, the greater preload and prevention of the screw loosening could be expected.

PZT/BT 이종 세라믹의 특성 (Characteristics of PZT/BT Multilayered thick film using Sol-gel Process)

  • PZT films are the most intensively investigated because PZT has advantages such as low processing temperature and large remnant values. In this paper, the microstructure and electric properties of $Pb(Zr_x,Ti_{(1-x)})O_3/BaTiO_3$ heterolayered thick films with Zr mole ranging from 30 to 70 % screen printed onto a alumina substrate were studied. $Pb(Zr_x,Ti_{(1-x)})O_3$ and $BaTiO_3$ powders were prepared by the sol-gel method. The $BaTiO_3$ powders were calcined at $700^{\circ}C$ for 2 hours. Structural properties of $Pb(Zr_x,Ti_{(1-x)})O_3/BaTiO_3$ multilayered thick films were investigated. As a result of the X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis, $Pb(Zr_x,Ti_{(1-x)})O_3/BaTiO_3$ exhibited a perovskite polycrystalline phase without pyrochlore phase or any preferred orientation.

생체용 Ti-Zr-Nb-Pd계 합금의 기계적 성질 (Mechanical Properties of Ti-Zr-Nb-Pd Based Alloys for Biomedical Applications)

  • For biomedical applications, Ti-X%Zr-Y%Nb-0.2%Pd(X:10$\sim$20, Y:2$\sim$8) alloys not containing harmful Al and V were newly designed, and the effect of alloy composition and heat treatment on the microstructure and mechanical properties was investigated. From the results, it was shown that the mechanical properties were enhanced with the addition of Zr or Nb. The effect of heat treating on room temperature strength was investigated by aging treatment after solution treatment. The mechanical properties of Ti-20%Zr-4%Nb-0.2%Pd alloy aged at 400$^{\circ}C$ for 10hrs was found to be superior to those of the pure Ti and Ti-6%Al-4%V ELI alloy.
