  • The facilitated diffusion effect on protein-DNA binding is studied. A rigorous theoretical approach is presented to deal with the coupling between one-dimensional and three-dimensional diffusive motions. For a simplified model, the present approach can provide numerically exact results, which are confirmed by the lattice-based Monte Carlo simulations.

  • Some structural problems and temperature difference of the pyrolysis equipment were improved by using the structure analysis and the optimal design of torch. The pyrolysis equipment developed in this study is expected to the excellent pyrolysis effect. To modify user-friendly the dimension of a part, we developed the feature modeling system that all of the related parts automatically change applying to the three-dimensional modeling method.

  • In this paper, we propose a numerical method to solve fuzzy differential equations. Numerical experiments show that when the step size is small, the new method has significantly good approximate solutions of fuzzy differential equation. Graphical representation of fuzzy solutions in three-dimension is also provided as a reference of visual convergence of the solution sequence.

  • A numerical algorithm for three-dimension laminar flow in an agitated vessel was established by using the spherical coordinates. Flow pattern for the double-stage paddle impeller was not dependent upon the distance of among the impeller in the agitated vessels. The numerical simulation of the flow pattern in spherical and cylindrical agitated vessel agree well with the visualization results.

  • We study the homotopical minimal periods for maps on infra-solvmanifolds of type (R) using the density of the homotopical minimal period set in the natural numbers. This extends the result of [10] from flat manifolds to infra-solvmanifolds of type (R). We give some examples of maps on infra-solvmanifolds of dimension three for which the corresponding density is positive.

  • The present paper proposes design and manufacturing methods of the carbon/epoxy square grid structure with near zero-CTE in three geometrical principal directions. Bonding strength of the grid structure is examined for different bonding methods. Numerical examples show that maximum displacement of the composite grid structure is almost zero comparing with that of aluminum grid structure with same dimension under thermal loading.

  • The paper deals with some aspects of early childhood geometry in the Czech Republic. Children's first geometrical experiences come from real life. In our opinion, there exist four types of geometrical experience which can be called the partition of space, the filling of space motion in space and the dimension of space. We distinguish three levels of the mathematical learning process: a spontaneous level, an operational level and a theoretical level.

  • An unconstrained tuning fork with a 3-D model has been numerically analyzed by Finite Element Method (FEM) and Boundary Element Method (BEM). The first three natural frequencies were calculated by the FEM modal analysis. Then the change of the modal frequencies was examined with the variation of the tuning fork length and width. (omitted)

  • A method for optimal route planning is presented with the assumption that the overall defended area is known in terms of threat potential function. This approach employes tangent plane to reduce the dimension of the state space for optimal programming problems with a state equality constraint. One-dimensional search algorithm is used to select the optimal route among the extermal fields which are obtained by integrating three differential equations from the initial values. In addition to being useful for the route planning through threat potential area, the trajectory planning will be suitable for general two-dimensional searching problems.

  • This paper proposes the track layout criterion for the LRT(light rail transit). All criterions established concerning dimension and performance of LRT vehicles that are three types. Types of vehices are AGT(automated guided train) steel wheel. AGT rubber tire and LIM(linear induction motor). Using theoritical approach, adaptation and validity of criterions are verified. Proposed criterions may provide a standard scheme for design and construction of the infrastructure on LRT.
