열화상 이미지를 이용한 배전 설비 검출 및 진단 (Detection and Diagnosis of Power Distribution Supply Facilities Using Thermal Images)

  • Maintenance of power distribution facilities is a significant subject in the power supplies. Fault caused by deterioration in power distribution facilities may damage the entire power distribution system. However, current methods of diagnosing power distribution facilities have been manually diagnosed by the human inspector, resulting in continuous pole accidents. In order to improve the existing diagnostic methods, a thermal image analysis model is proposed in this work. Using a thermal image technique in diagnosis field is emerging in the various engineering field due to its non-contact, safe, and highly reliable energy detection technology. Deep learning object detection algorithms are trained with thermal images of a power distribution facility in order to automatically analyze its irregular energy status, hereby efficiently preventing fault of the system. The detected object is diagnosed through a thermal intensity area analysis. The proposed model in this work resulted 82% of accuracy of detecting an actual distribution system by analyzing more than 16,000 images of its thermal images.

  • We propose an ART2 neural network-based fault diagnosis method to diagnose of sensor in the gas monitoring system. In the proposed method, using thermal modulation of operating temperature of sensor, the signal patterns are extracted from the voltage of load resistance. Also, fault classifier by ART2 NN (adaptive resonance theory 2 neural network) with uneven vigilance parameters is used for fault isolation. The performances of the proposed fault diagnosis method are shown by simulation results using real data obtained from the gas monitoring system.

한반도 동남부의 주단층대에 의해 구분된 지질블록별 백악기-고제3기 화강암의 차별적 냉각-지열 이력: 피션트랙 열연대학적 증거 (Cooling and Thermal Histories of Cretaceous-Paleogene Granites from Different Fault-bounded Blocks, SE Korean Peninsula: Fission-track Thermochronological Evidences)

  • 한반도 동남부의 주단층으로 구분된 지질블록별 백악기-고제3기 화강암체의 피션트랙(FT) 열연대학적 기록은 차별적인 냉각사와 후기 지열사를 입증한다. 대부분 화강암체에는 관입후 단조로운 냉각패턴(J 자-형)이 그대로 보존되어 있으며, 일부 백악기 암체는 $300^{\circ}C$ 등온선의 리셋 후 재냉각된 복잡한 패턴(N 자-형)을 기록한다. 각 암체의 온도구간별 차별적 냉각속도는 상대적 암체규모, 모암종류에 따른 초기 열손실, 후기화성활동 존재와 근접성 등에 따라 설명된다. 큰 규모의 저반상 암체의 경우에도 단일 암체 내에서 위치에 따라 각 등온선별 냉각연대는 대체로 부합된다. 양산단층을 가로질러 양쪽에 인접한 두 암체의 유사한 냉각연대는 그들이 거대한 수평변위 이전의 동시대 관입체임을 입증한다. 양산/동래단층 등 주단층대를 따라 국지적으로 기록된 후기 지열상승 범위는 인회석 부분안정영역($70-125^{\circ}C$)에 달했으며 $200^{\circ}C$에는 미치지 못하였다. 양산-울산단층 교차점의 파쇄대 내 강한 변질증거는 FT 스핀연대(31Ma)가 전기 올리고세에 단층교차점을 포함한 포항-감포블록의 구조적 침강에 따른 $290^{\circ}C$ 이상의 지온상승에 의한 리셋 후 재냉각연대임을 지시하며, 한편 일치된 FT 저콘 및 인회석연대(24Ma)는 올리고세 말기에 동일 지역의 급작스런 구조적 융기에 관련된 $200-105^{\circ}C$ 등온선의 급작스런 냉각을 암시한다. $300-200-100^{\circ}C$ 등온선별 냉각연대가 울산단층 동쪽(포항-감포블록)에서 서쪽보다 현저하게 낮은 경향(FT 스핀 및 K-Ar 흑운모=19%; FT 저콘=20%; FT 인회석=27%)은 훨씬 뒤에 관입한 고제3기 암체의 늦은 냉각시점 때문이며, 후기 지열영향으로 부분감소된 인회석연대가 반영되었기 때문이다.

  • The characteristics of geothermal resources in Korea was roughly estimated using hot springs, 580 geothermal gradients and 338 heat flow data. In the aspect of hot springs with geologic structure, location of hot springs coincide with fault zone, especially younger age of Cretaceous to Tertiary. In the aspect of geothermal gradients, Pohang area shows the highest geothermal gradient anomaly, which is covered with unconsol idated rock of low thermal conductivity preserving the residual heat from igneous activity or radioactivity elements decay. In the aspect of heat flow density, high anomaly can be found along the zone connecting Uljin-Pohang-Busan on the southeastern part of Korean peninsula at which big fault zone as Yangsan fault is well developed.

  • The inductive superconducting fault current limiter (SFCLJ limits the fault current with its dc reactor. To fabricate the optimal dc reactor for inductive SFCL, several design and manufacturing technologies are necessary. In this paper, the manufacturing technology for dc reactor and cryogenic cooling method are described in detail. GM-cryocooler was used enlarge the critical current of dc reactor by cooling down the temperature of dc reactor about 20 K. Moreover, the results of short circuit test were described. Finally, the thermal characteristics of conduction-cooled system were discussed and then, sub-cooled nitrogen system was proposed to enhance the thermal stability of dc reactor.

활석 분쇄에 따른 함수율 및 열적거동 변화: 단층의 반복되는 미끌림이 단층 약화에 미치는 영향 (Variation of Water Content and Thermal Behavior of Talc Upon Grinding: Effect of Repeated Slip on Fault Weakening)

  • 단층 비지는 단층의 미끌림에 의해 입도와 결정도가 낮아지는 특성을 가지는 것으로 알려져 있다. 활석을 비롯한 층상규산염 광물은 단층 비지에 존재하며 단층 약화에서 중요한 역할을 할 수 있는데, 특히 광물 표면에 흡착된 물분자의 존재 여부에 따라 마찰계수가 달라진다. 본 연구에서는 고에너지 볼 밀을 이용해 입도와 결정도를 체계적으로 변화시킨, 분쇄 전후 활석의 함수율과 탈수반응 거동의 변화를 통해 활석이 단층 약화에 미치는 영향에 대해 알아보고자 하였다. 적외선 분광분석 및 열분석 결과, 분쇄 전 활석은 소수성을 띠며 물분자가 거의 존재하지 않는다. 이후 최대 720분까지 진행된 분쇄를 통해 입도가 약 100~300 nm 내외까지 감소하고 비정질화가 진행된 활석에서는 물분자에 의한 함수량이 분쇄 전에 비하여 약 8 wt.% 증가하였다. 또한 분쇄된 시료를 가열할 경우, 분쇄 전에 비하여 기화되는 수증기의 양이 증가한다. 입도 및 결정도 감소에 따라 탈수산기 반응 온도도 분쇄 전 약 $900^{\circ}C$에서 720분 분쇄 후 약 $800^{\circ}C$로 감소하였다. 이와 같이 분쇄된 활석의 입도 및 결정도 감소에 의해 소수성이 친수성으로 바뀌며 층상 규산염 광물의 마찰계수를 낮출 것으로 생각된다. 지진 사이클을 통해 반복되는 단층의 미끌림은 지속적으로 단층 비지에 존재하는 활석의 마찰 계수를 낮출 것으로 생각되며, 오래된 단층이 점점 약화되는 원인에 대한 실마리를 제공할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

An Experimental Fault Analysis and Speed Control of an Induction Motor using Motor Solver

  • This paper deals with the performance analysis of three phase induction motor considering its stator side faults and operating thermal limits. The speed control of induction motor using three phase boost converter operated by a MOSFET switch and a PI controller is demonstrated and presented in this article. IGBTs switches are used for inverter drive mechanism. The experimental result of speed control of induction motor using voltage control technique clearly shows better accuracy than conventional methods of speed control. A three phase 1HP 415V 0.78 kW 4 Pole induction motor is designed using motor solver software. Based on the parameters used in the software thermal analysis of induction motor is done and torque variation with conductor area, efficiency, output curve, losses in different parts of motor has been obtained. Also different types of faults namely under voltage, over voltage, stator imbalanced voltage, turn to turn, locked rotor bar, wrong alignment of rotor bar with respect to stator are studied and fault analysis is performed. Hence comparison is made based upon the results obtained before and after faults.

비상시 열원중단에 따른 데이터센터의 냉각시스템 열성능 평가에 관한 사례연구 (A Study on Thermal Analysis for a Data Center Cooling System under Fault Conditions at a Chilled Water Plant)

  • This study describes the analysis of a 20 MW chilled water plant used for the IT cooling of a recently constructed data center in Korea. The CFD model was developed with the aim of evaluating the impact of problems such as chiller failure on the water and air temperatures in the cooling system. The numerical model includes the chilled water hydraulic network and individual water-to-air CRAC units. The coupling between the IT server room air temperature levels and the cooling plant has enabled a full assessment of the cooling system design in response to system fault conditions to be performed. The paper examines an emergency situation involving the failure of the cooling plant, and shows how the inherent thermal inertia of the system along with additional inertia achieved through buffer systems allowed a suitable design to be achieved.

사고전류 제한형 고온 초전도케이블의 한류부 특성평가 (Evaluation on the Properties of the Current Limiting Part for Fault-Current-Limiting Type HTS Cables)

  • Inside the existing superconducting cables, the superconducting wire carries a loss-free current, and the cable former (the stranded copper wire) bypasses the fault current to prevent damage and loss of the superconducting cable when the fault current is applied. The fault-current-limiting-type superconducting cable proposed in this paper usually carries a steady current; but in a fault state, the cable generates self-resistance that makes the fault current lower than a certain width. That is, the superconducting cable that transmitted only a low voltage and a large capacity power repetitively limits the fault current, as does a superconducting current limiter. To complete this structure, it is essential to investigate the mutual resistance relationship between the superconducting wires after applying a fault current. Therefore, in this paper, one kinds of superconducting wires (a wire without a stabilization layer) were connected parallel 4 tapes, respectively; and after applying a fault current, the current, voltage, resistance and thermal stability of the HTS thin-film wires were examined.

  • With the rapid growth of power system capacity, fault current levels approach the maximum capacity of circuit breakers. In this paper, a superconducting current limiter (SCL) is proposed to reduce the fault current to an appropriate level. Superconductor for SCL has been examined and design criterion of each triggering method has been shown. Thin film SCL has been fabricated and switching characteristics are shown, where thermal and current triggering methods are adopted. Experimental result shows that fault current is reduced to one-half.
