A Study on the Young Ki(營氣) of the Young Chu(靈樞) (영추(靈樞).영기(營氣)에 대(對)한 연구(硏究))

  • The contents of ${\ulcorner}$Young Ki(營氣)${\lrcorner}$ are explained on the basis of the so-called 'Young-Yu(營衛) Circulation theory'. It was described in several chapters as ${\ulcorner}$Oh Sib Young(五十營)${\lrcorner}$ ${\ulcorner}$Yu Ki Hang(衛氣行)${\lrcorner}$ ${\ulcorner}$Young-Yu Sang Hoe(營衛生會)${\lrcorner}$. Summerizing the contents of the ${\ulcorner}$Young Ki(營氣)${\lrcorner}$ in reference to the contents of successive generation note, the contents were as follows; What attract our attention in chapter I is production process of Young Ki(營氣). Young(營) is pure nutriment which is come from food and drink. There is a close connection between Young(營) and blood. We can say that they have nearly the same meaning. The difference between the two is that Young(營) is put stress on circulation. Young Ki(營氣) is the very blood that is circulating orderly. What attract our attention in chapter II is circulation order of Young Ki(營氣). The order is described in ${\ulcorner}$Keong Mack(經脈)${\lrcorner}$ of the ${\ulcorner}$Young Chu(靈樞)${\lrcorner}$. Young Ki(營氣) is flowing according to the order of twelve Keong Mack(經脈).

The Mediating Effects of Young Children's Shyness on the Relationship between Teacher-Children Relationship and Young Children's Social Competence (교사와 유아 간의 관계와 유아의 사회적 능력간의 관계에서 유아 수줍음의 매개효과)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the mediating effects of young children's shyness on the relationship between teacher-children relationship and young children's social competence. The subjects of the study were 270 children from three years to five years old and their teachers in Busan. Frequency, t-test, Cronbach ${\alpha}$, Pearson's correlation coefficients, and hierarchial regression were used for data analysis. The results were as follows: first, teacher-children intimacy showed positive correlation with the young children's social competence. Teacher-children conflict showed negative correlation with the young children's social competence. Second, teacher-children intimacy showed negative correlation with the young children's shyness. Teacher-children conflict showed positive correlation with the young children's shyness. Third, young children's shyness showed negative correlation with the young children's social competence. Fourth, young children's shyness had partial mediating effects on the relationship between teacher-children intimacy and young children's sociability. Young children's shyness had partial mediating effects on the relationship between teacher-children intimacy and young children's popularity and leadership. Young children's shyness had partial mediating effects on the relationship between teacher- children conflict and young children's sociability. Young children's shyness had partial mediating effects on the relationship between teacher-children conflict and young children's popularity and leadership.

A Study on Young Antler Kimchi (녹용김치에 관한 연구)

  • Kimchi made with the addition of 2 percent of boiled young antler, raw young antler, young antler treated with lactic acid(acid treated young antler) has been fermented for 15 days at 11$^{\circ}C$. After 15 days of fermentation, the results show that pH of boiled young antler Kimchi was 3.87, that of raw young antler Kimchi was 4.04, acid treated young antler Kimchi was 3.97, control Kimchi was 3.86, and acidity of boiled young antler Kimchi was 7.4, that of raw young antler Kimchi was 10.5, that of acid treated young antler Kimchi was 10.7, control Kimchi was 6.9, respectively. After 15 days, total sugar content was 1.46% in boiled young antler Kimchi, 0.53% in raw young antler Kimchi, 0.92% in acid treated young antler Kimchi, 1.46% in control Kimchi, and reducing sugar was 0.50% in boiled young antler Kimchi, 0.14% in raw young antler Kimchi, 0.39% in acid treated young antler Kimchi and control Kimchi, respectively. Amino acid content was 13.42${\mu}$㏖/$m\ell$ in boiled young antler Kimchi, 17.83${\mu}$㏖/$m\ell$ in raw young antler Kimchi, 14.48${\mu}$㏖/$m\ell$ in acid treated young antler Kimchi, 17.60${\mu}$㏖/$m\ell$ in control Kimchi, and protein was 2.101% in boiled young antler Kimchi, 1.945% in raw young antler Kimchi, 1.722% in acid treated young antler Kimchi and 2.011% in control Kimchi, respectively. Lactic acid content was 2.021% in raw young antler Kimchi, 2.004% in acid treated young antler Kimchi, 1.950% in boiled young antler Kimchi, 1.200% in control Kimchi, and succinic acid was 0.081% in boiled young antler Kimchi, 0.086% in raw young antler Kimchi, 0.078% in acid treated young antler Kimchi and 0.111% in control Kimchi, respectively. Acetic acid was 0.080% in boiled young antler Kimchi, 0.092% in raw young antler Kimchi, 0.114% in acid treated young antler Kimchi, 0.086% in control Kimchi, respectively. The number of microorganism was 1.09${\times}$ 10$\^$8//g in boiled young antler Kimchi, 1.08${\times}$10$\^$8//g in control Kimchi, 9.88${\times}$10$\^$8//g in acid treated young antler Kimchi and 6.6${\times}$ 10$\^$8//g in raw young antler Kimchi. The number of microorganism was highest in acid treated young antler Kimchi, and followed by raw young antler Kimchi, and boiled young antler Kimchi, control Kimchi, respectively. The results of test of the saltness, sour, aroma, color, texture through sensory evaluation reveal that boiled young antler Kimchi has the excellent taste, and followed by raw young antler Kimchi and control Kimchi, acid treated young antler Kimchi, respectively.

The Moderating Role of Young Children's Playfulness and the Association between Maternal Parenting and Young Children's Peer Competency (어머니의 양육행동 및 유아의 놀이성과 유아의 또래 유능성 : 유아 놀이성의 조절효과를 중심으로)

  • This study examined the moderating role of young children's playfulness and the association between maternal parenting and young children's peer competency. The subjects of the present study were 132 4 or 5-year-old young children and their mothers recruited from child-care centers in Seoul and Gyeonggi-Do. The findings of this Study were as follows : First, maternal parenting influenced children's peer competency. Second, young children's playfulness influenced young children's peer competency. Third, the association between overprotective and permissive maternal parenting styles and young children's leadership abilities were negative only in the low cognitive playfulness group. Fourth, the association between maternal rejective and negligent parenting and young children's socialibility were found to be negative only in the low physical playfulness group.

Mediating Effect of Self-esteem on the Teacher-Young Child Relationship and Self-regulation Ability of Young Children (교사유아관계와 유아의 자기조절능력 간의 관계에서 자아존중감의 매개효과)

  • This study examined the mediating effects of self-esteem on the teacher-young child relationship and self-regulation ability of young children. A survey was conducted on a random sample of 252 young children aged 3-5 years attending a nursery in Gwang-ju, Korea. Based on the data, Person's correlations between variables were analyzed, and hierarchical regression analyses were conducted to identify the direct and indirect effects of the teacher-young child relationship and self-esteem on the self-regulation ability of the young children. First, there were positive correlations among the teacher-young child relationship (intimacy) and self-esteem as well as self-regulation ability. There were negative correlations among the teacher-young child relationship (conflict, dependence) and self-esteem as well as self-regulation ability. Second, self-esteem partially mediated the correlation between the teacher-young child relationship and self-regulation ability. The results suggest that self-esteem may affect the self-regulation ability of young children as a mediating response to the teacher-young child relationship.

Factors related to Young Children′s Empathy (유아의 공감에 관련된 변인 연구)

  • The purpose of this study was to identify how characteristics of young children (sex, age, temperament), mothers (employed or unemployed, intimacy between mother and child, parenting attitudes), and home environment (pet, TV/Video viewing) relate to young children's empathy and to examine the relative effects of then variables on young children's empathy. The subjects for this study were 300 3-, 4-, and 5-year-olds selected from kindergartens and day-care centers in Busan. Data were analyzed via t-test, correlation, and multiple regression. Results showed that girls had higher empathy score than boys. Young children's empathy was positively correlated with the sociability of young child's temperament, intimacy between mother and young child, reasoning guidance, affect, achievement of parenting attitudes, and parental intervention toward young child after TV/video viewing. However, young children's empathy was correlated negatively with authoritarian control of parenting attitudes. Among then variables, young children's sex was the most significant variable.

The IRPA Young Generation Network: Activity Report from the Middle of 2018 to the Beginning of 2021

  • Since its establishment in 2018, the Young Generation Network (YGN) has been dedicated, with support of the International Radiation Protection Association (IRPA), to a variety of activities to promote communication, collaboration and professional development of students and young professionals in the area of radiation protection and its allied fields. This article reports our recent activities from the middle of 2018 to the beginning of 2021, with highlights on some important events: "Joint JHPS-SRP-KARP Workshop of Young Generation Network" (December 2019 in Japan); contribution to "Nuclear Energy Agency Workshop on Optimization: Rethinking the Art of Reasonable" (January 2020 in Portugal); survey on the impact of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) on radiation protection among IRPA YGN members (March 2020); and contribution to IRPA15 (15th International Congress of the IRPA; January-February 2021, online). The discussion and insight obtained from each activity are also summarized. The IRPA YGN will aim to achieve its on-going activities and continue to follow the ways paved in the Strategic Agenda and despite the challenges raised by the COVID-19 pandemic. Namely, running an international survey (for example, on the usage of social media in radiation protection, and on the long-term consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic), engaging national YGNs, extending the network, finding new relationships with networks with an interest in the young generation and participation in (remote) events will be aspired for.

Relevant Variables of Young Children's Stress (유아 스트레스의 관련 변인 연구)

  • The purpose of this study was to identify how characteristics of young children (sex, age, birth order, temperament), parents (education level, employed or unemployed mother, mother's parenting behavior), and family (income) relate to young children's stress levels and to examine the relative effects of these variables on young children's stress. The subjects for this study were 287 young children, aged from 3 to 5 years old, selected from kindergartens and day-care centers in Busan. Data were analyzed with t-test, ANOVA, correlation, and multiple regression. The results were as follows. (1) Young children's stress was correlated with young children's sex, age, birth order and temperament. (2) Young children's stress was correlated with parenting behaviors. (3) Young children's stress was not correlated with income. (4) Children's emotionality and maternal overprotective behavior were the most significant variables affecting the stress experienced by boys and girls, respectively. (5) Maternal overprotective behavior variable affected both sibling and only children's stress.
