Performance Analysis of the prioritized MAC protocol under the CATV/LAN network (CATV/LAN 전송망에서 우선권 문제를 추가한 MAC프로토콜의 성능해석에 관한 연구)

  • In this paper, we analyzed the performance for CATV/LAN added priority problem. Upstrea nm channel which analyzed very deeply for CATV/LAN network have the preferential access property depending upon that positionand unidirectional property. To solve that fairness problem and priority, we propose the CSMA-CD/U/P-P protocolthat transmit as P1 probability if data packets happen. We assumed 2-Class priority(high, low). As the analyticresult and simulation, we obtained P1, value and its average delay time under priority problem assumed twoscenarios. Also, we get its variance value and queue length. Especially, the mean delay time increases nearer thanposition from H/E

  • It is very important to evaluate the priority of prevention factors and strategies in order to minimize industrial accident. It provides decisive information for accident prevention and safety management. Therefore, this paper proposes evaluation method of the priority through statistic testing with prevention factors and strategies by the cause analysis of cause and effect models. Especially, this paper uses priority matrix criterion to justify application of rank and objectivity. This paper is based on the results of a questionnaire of workers and managers who are engaged by real manufacturing and construction industries with less than 300 workers in the central region of Korea, where most of the fatal accidents have happened. Finally, the result provides one way to implement safety management for industrial accident prevention.

  • This paper treats the problem to schedule for train with low transit priority so as to maximizing the number that can be sent during given time without interfering with the fixed schedule for train with high transit priority in a track. We transform the this problem into Time-Expanded Network without traverse time through application of Ford-Fulkerson Model, develop a TENET GENerator(TENETGEN) and obtain the data of TENET using developed TENETGEN. Finally, we seek the optimal solution to these data with Dinic's Maximal-Flow Algorithm and examine the availability of our procedures in personal computer.

Handoff Scheme for Real Time Service in Home Network based on Wireless LAN (WLAN 기반 네트워크에서 실시간서비스 지원을 위한 핸드오프 방식)

  • The handoff in IEEE 802.11 WLAN is a hard handoff. In hard handoff, a station has to stop the communication. As a result, the station is likely to miss some packets that arrival during the handoff process. To recover these lost packets, buffer-and-forward scheme is used. But, buffer-and-forward scheme is not efficient for real time service. In this paper, we propose new handoff scheme for real time service in home network based WLAN. The scheme uses priority queue which is recommended in IEEE 802.lie, and priority of priority queue is given to real time handoff calls. The simulation results show that the proposed scheme reduces traffic loss and transmission sequence error.

  • We derive priority decision making on healthcare service technology standardization in the home network through the decision support process with industry professionals. We configured a research group with 4 industrial areas including Industry, Academic, Research Institution and Medical Institution. And we also applied AHP methodology for the priority decision making. The research group decides an evaluation criteria which are consisted of marketability, technology, ripple effect, strategy for national policies in order to make a priority for healthcare service on a home network. And it is also decided 7 fields and 24 sub-fields, technically. In order to make a priority for the standardization, we use an AHP methodology, that is more objective and feasible, as a decision tool. After two-phase survey that consists of paper survey and face to face meeting, we get a conclusion that home healthcare content is at the top and then wireless home network follows it.

Development and Application of a Chemical Ranking and Scoring System for the Management of Endocrine Disrupting Chemicals (환경성 내분비계장애물질(EDCs)의 우선관리순위 결정법 개발 및 적용)

  • Background: Exposure to endocrine disrupting chemicals (EDCs) has been considered one of the main causes of a range of endocrine diseases in modern society. An EDC priority list considering exposure, toxicity, and societal concern should be established for EDC management. Methods: The chemical ranking and scoring (CRS) system for EDCs was based on exposure, toxicity,and societal concern. The exposure score system was based on usage, circulation volume, bioaccumulation, and detection in consumer products. The toxicity score system was based on carcinogenicity and reproductive and developmental toxicity. The societal concern score system was based on domestic or international regulations and mass media reports. Results: A total of 165 EDCs were considered in the CRS system. The top-five priority EDCs were Bis(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP), Benzene, Bisphenol A, Dibutyl phthalate (DBP) and Trichloroethylene. Phthalates, bisphenols and parabens were identified as priority chemical groups. Conclusion: We developed a CRS system for EDCs to identify priority EDCs for management. This will be a foundation to provide an EDC management plan based on scientific decision-making.

  • Priority queues, one of the fundamental data structures, have been studied for a long time by computer scientists. This paper proposes an implicit double-ended priority queue, called IMI-heap, in which insert operation takes constant amortized time and each of removal operation of the minimum key or the maximum key takes O(logn) time. To the author's knowledge, all implicit double-ended priority queues that have been published, perform insert, removeMin and removeMax operations in O(logn) time each. So, the proposed IMI-heap is superior than the published heaps in terms of insertion time complexity.The abstract should concisely state what was done, how it was done, principal results, and their significance.

  • Reservoir Reconstruction Priority(RRP) model is constituted both possibility and restriction criteria for establishing reconstruction priorities and their subdivisions that can be extracted each priorities from the GIS data and by using AHP as the multi-criteria method, it can extract the weighting parameters each criteria of the model. As such, RRP model appeared to provide reasonable criteria in determining the priority of agricultural reservoirs for reconstruction.

  • In this paper, we analyze the performance of ATM switch with output buffer which has a space priority control mechanism. As we assumed that the input traffic consists of loss tolerable voice and loss sensitive data, we modeled it with MMPP(Markov Modulated Poisson Process). We confirmed that the loss probability of loss sensitive traffic decreases when we use the space priority control mechanism.
