An Empirical Study on the Management Performances of Korean Tourism Firms : Focusing on the Economic Effects caused by FTA (FTA의 경제적 효과가 한국 관광기업의 경영성과에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구)

  • This study is for analyzing the mgmt performances of Korean tourism firms, operating as preparing strategically against FTA, one of the most importantly external environment in int'l mgmt since in the mid of 1990s. The main purpose can be mentioned to test empirically some relations between the mgmt performances of Korean tourism ones and the economic effects originated from FTA. The dependent variables of mgmt performances are classified with sales, profits and mgmt satisfaction, while the independent one regarding with economic effects from FTA are sorted based on the previous studies with the 2 following factors like direct with inbound/outbound and indirect effects. This study is conducted in two stages. Firstly, the research model is designed by the reviewing relevant theories and previous studies. Secondly, the survey of Korean tourism firms engaging in mgmt activities is implemented by collecting questionnaires. And for testing the hypothesis, the analyzing tools are used for correlation, reliability, validity and multi-regression on SPSS 12.0 and the path analysis of structural equation modeling is activated with AMOS 11.0.

The Effect of Cool Dialysis on Dialytic Stability, Feeling of Fatigue, Pruritus and Dialysis adequacy in Hemodialysis Patients (저온투석이 혈액투석환자의 투석안정성, 피로감, 소양증과 투석적절도에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of the application of cool dialysis on dialytic stability, feeling of fatigue, pruritus and dialysis adequacy in hemodialysis. Methods: The study design was nonequivalent control group pretest-posttest design. The subjects were 50 patients who were hospitalized to hemodialysis. The experimental group cool dialysis(n=25) and the control group received only the usual treatment (n=25). The collected data were analyzed using independent t-test to examine study hypothesis. Results: The level of dialytic stability (F=5.53, p=.023) and feeling of fatigue (F=4.01, p<.001) in the experimental group were significantly different from that of the control group. However, the level of pruritus(F=.74, p=.394) and dialysis adequacy(F=1.02, p=.327) in the experimental group were not different from that of the control group. Conclusion: The study findings confirm that cool dialysis as an effective intervention alleviating dialytic stability and feeling of fatigue.

The Effects of Fairness and Quality on the Trust and Loyalty in the R&D Processes (연구개발 과정에서 공정성과 품질이 신뢰와 충성도에 미치는 영향)

  • Recently R&D projects take a collaborative works which involve industries, research institutions, and academic fields together. Collaborative R&D enjoys the economy of scales and economic efficiencies in that costs and risks share each others and compensate their competences. But there are some problems. The imbalance of power, the asymmetry of information, loss of trust, and opportunism among the co-researchers make the collaborative R&D difficult to succeed and disappointed outcomes. There are many variables on explaining the interorganizational relationships. Among them, I choose some relevant variables, construct research model and some hypotheses. Independent variables are fairness and quality, and dependent variables is loyalty. And trust are treated as the intervening variable between the independent variables and dependent variable. To test the research model and some hypothesis empirically, I collected the data using the questionnaire, The questionnaire was distributed to the persons that do collaborative R&D in Daeduck Innopolis. Sample size was 448, it was enough to analyze statistically. Data were analysed using the SPSS and AMOS. Procedural fairness and distributive fairness affect the organizational trust positively, and procedural fairness and distributive fairness affect member trust positively. Procedural quality and outcome quality affect the organizational quality positively. Procedural quality affects the member trust positively, but outcome quality does not affect member trust. Procedural fairness and distributive fairness does not affect the loyalty positively. Procedural quality does not affects loyalty, but outcome quality affects the loyalty positively. The organizational trust affects loyalty positively, and member quality affect loyalty positively.

The Effects of Fairness and Service Quality on the Loyalty in the R&D Processes: Mediation Effect of Trust (연구개발 과정에서 공정성과 서비스 품질이 충성도에 미치는 영향: 신뢰의 매개효과)

  • Collaboration works on R&D project have many characteristics in interoranizational relationships. There are many variables on explaining the their relationships. In the previous study, I chose some relevant variables and some hypotheses. Base on service marketing theories and relationship marketing perspective I suggest 5 hypotheses. Independent variables are fairness and quality, and dependent variable is loyalty. And trust are treated as the intervening variable between the independent variables and dependent variable. To test the research model and some hypothesis empirically, I collected the data using the questionnaire. Sample size was 448, it was enough to analyze statistically. Data were analysed using the SPSS and AMOS. In the previous study, H1($fairness{\rightarrow}trust$), H2($quality{\rightarrow}trust$), H5($trust{\rightarrow}loyalty$) were accepted, but H3 and H4 were rejected. The reason H3($fairness{\rightarrow}loyalty$) and H4($quality{\rightarrow}loyalty$) were not accepted might be attributed to the fact that trust was the mediating variable between fairness and loyalty, quality and loyalty. Specific research methodologies and statistical findings from AMOS were referred in the previous study(Jeong 2018). In this study, I suggested some hypotheses on the mediating role trust between fairness and loyalty and service quality and loyalty. Using the PROCESS-macro, I found that trust was the mediating variable between fairness and loyalty as well as service quality and loyalty. This research is the complementary and extended study from previous research.

Spatial Distribution Patterns of Oplismenus undulatifolius var. undulatifolius on Mt. Hanwoo in Korea (한우산에 분포하는 주름조개풀의 공간적 양상)

  • The patchiness of local environments within a habitat is assumed to be a primary factor affecting the spatial patterns of plants. In this study, a randomization procedure was developed to test the null hypothesis that only spatial association with patches determines the spatial patterns of plants. Oplismenus undulatifolius (Ard.) P. Beauv. var. undulatifolius is an herbaceous plant and a member of the genus Oplismenus in the family Poaceae. Oplismenus hirtellus subsp. undulatifolius occurs in temperate, subtropical, and tropical areas of the world. The spatial pattern of O. undulatifolius var. undulatifolius was analyzed using dispersion indices in different sizes of plots according to several patchiness indexes, population uniformity, or aggregation. Population densities (D) at Mt. Hanwoo varied from 0.453 to 4.375, with a mean of 2.387. The small and mid-sized plots ($2m{\times}2m$, $2m{\times}4m$, $4m{\times}4m$, $4m{\times}8m$, and $8m{\times}8m$) of O. undulatifolius var. undulatifolius were aggregated in the forest community. However, O. undulatifolius var. undulatifolius was uniformly distributed in three large plots ($8m{\times}16m$, $16m{\times}16m$, and $16m{\times}32m$). The greatest mean crowding ($M^*$) and patchiness index (PAI) showed positive values. Aggregation is mainly caused by environmental factors. Many plants on Mt. Hanwoo are being disturbed by climbers, which is preventing these plants from inhabiting their realized niches on Mt. Hanwoo.

The Effects of e-Service Quality on Satisfaction and Continuance Intention in Cryptocurrency Exchange (암호화폐 거래소의 e-서비스품질이 만족과 지속사용의도에 미치는 영향)

  • There are no studies related to the cryptocurrency exchange, unlike the explosive topic and the active transaction of the cryptourrency around the world. In this study, variables were constructed based on the previous researches to examine the effects of e-service qualities(information quality, transaction quality, design quality, safety quality), satisfaction and continuance intention of cryptocurrency exchange. The samples consist of 180 survey data drawn from the users of cryptocurrency exchange. The collected data were analyzed by SPSS 24.0 and AMOS 21.0. According to results of the reliability and validity test, all were found reliable, and all items were included. As a result of hypothesis testing through path analysis, First, the e-service qualities (information quality, transaction quality, design quality, safety quality) of the cryptocurrency exchange showed positive effects on satisfaction at the significance level of 1% and 5%. Second, e-service qualities (information quality, transaction quality, design quality, safety quality) of the cryptocurrency exchange were found to have positive effects on continuance intention at the significance level of 1% and 5%. Third, the satisfaction of the cryptocurrency exchange has a positive effect on continuance intention at 1% level of significance.

Study on the Effect of Organizational Justice on Innovative Behavior (조직의 공정성이 혁신행동에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine whether organizational justice, including procedural justice and distributive justice, improve employees' innovative behavior through work engagement and knowledge sharing. In addition, it was conducted to investigate whether work engagement and knowledge sharing indirectly affect the relationship between organizational justice and innovative behavior. For the hypothesis test of this study, Hayes (2018) PROCESS Macro was used. Result of the analysis shows that procedural justice, work engagement, and knowledge sharing influenced innovative behavior. The constructs influencing work engagement were procedural justice, distributive justice, knowledge sharing. Also, procedural justice and work engagement were constructs that affected knowledge sharing. In the relationship between procedural justice and innovative behavior, the indirect effect was confirmed in all paths. In the relationship between the distributive justice and the innovative behavior, It was confirmed that there is not the indirect effect only in the path via knowledge sharing. he indirect effect was confirmed in all paths that did not acquire knowledge sharing. In addition, through the PROCESS Macro analysis, we examined the magnitude of the indirect effect of various paths between mediators. The results show that organizational justice can have the greatest effect on innovative behavior through work engagement. The weakness of respondents control by SNS survey is the major limitation of this study. In the future, Further research is needed depending on the nature of the organization, such as the analysis of differences between various industries.

qEEG Measures of Attentional and Memory Network Functions in Medical Students: Novel Targets for Pharmacopuncture to Improve Cognition and Academic Performance

  • Objectives: Attentional and memory functions are important aspects of neural plasticity that, theoretically, should be amenable to pharmacopuncture treatments. A previous study from our laboratory suggested that quantitative electroencephalographic (qEEG) measurements of theta/beta ratio (TBR), an index of attentional control, may be indicative of academic performance in a first-semester medical school course. The present study expands our prior report by extracting and analyzing data on frontal theta and beta asymmetries. We test the hypothesis that the amount of frontal theta and beta asymmetries (fTA, fBA), are correlated with TBR and academic performance, thereby providing novel targets for pharmacopuncture treatments to improve cognitive performance. Methods: Ten healthy male volunteers were subjected to 5-10 min of qEEG measurements under eyes-closed conditions. The qEEG measurements were performed 3 days before each of first two block examinations in anatomy-physiology, separated by five weeks. Amplitudes of the theta and beta waveforms, expressed in ${\mu}V$, were used to compute TBR, fTA and fBA. Significance of changes in theta and beta EEG wave amplitude was assessed by ANOVA with post-hoc t-testing. Correlations between TBR, fTA, fBA and the raw examination scores were evaluated by Pearson's product-moment coefficients and linear regression analysis. Results: fTA and fBA were found to be negatively correlated with TBR (P<0.03, P<0.05, respectively) and were positively correlated with the second examination score (P<0.03, P=0.1, respectively). Conclusion: Smaller fTA and fBA were associated with lower academic performance in the second of two first-semester medical school anatomy-physiology block examination. Future studies should determine whether these qEEG metrics are useful for monitoring changes associated with the brain's cognitive adaptations to academic challenges, for predicting academic performance and for targeting phamacopuncture treatments to improve cognitive performance.

Prediction of the direction of stock prices by machine learning techniques (기계학습을 활용한 주식 가격의 이동 방향 예측)

  • Prediction of a stock price has been a subject of interest for a long time in financial markets, and thus, many studies have been conducted in various directions. As the efficient market hypothesis introduced in the 1970s acquired supports, it came to be the majority opinion that it was impossible to predict stock prices. However, recent advances in predictive models have led to new attempts to predict the future prices. Here, we summarize past studies on the price prediction by evaluation measures, and predict the direction of stock prices of Samsung Electronics, LG Chem, and NAVER by applying various machine learning models. In addition to widely used technical indicator variables, accounting indicators such as Price Earning Ratio and Price Book-value Ratio and outputs of the hidden Markov Model are used as predictors. From the results of our analysis, we conclude that no models show significantly better accuracy and it is not possible to predict the direction of stock prices with models used. Considering that the models with extra predictors show relatively high test accuracy, we may expect the possibility of a meaningful improvement in prediction accuracy if proper variables that reflect the opinions and sentiments of investors would be utilized.

Analysis of Emotional Intelligence Affected by Medical Institution Members on Job Satisfaction and Self-Efficacy (의료기관 구성원이 직무만족도와 자기효능감에 느끼는 감성지능의 영향 분석)

  • In this study, we would like to confirm the impact of emotional intelligence perceived by members of medical institutions on job satisfaction and the mediating effect of self-efficacy. To test the hypothesis of the study, a survey was conducted on members of medical institutions (excluding doctors) in Gyeonggi Province, and statistical analysis was conducted using SPSS 22.0. First of all, the research results showed a positive impact only on use of emotion among the sub-factors of emotional intelligence in the impact relationship between emotional intelligence perceived by members on self-efficacy. Second, in the impact relationship of emotional intelligence on job satisfaction, which is a sub-factor of emotional intelligence, self-emotion appraisal, others' emotion appraisal, regulation of emotion, and use of emotion all showed positive effects. Third, the effect of members' self-efficacy on job satisfaction was also positive, and fourth, the mediating effect of self-efficacy between emotional intelligence and job satisfaction was also confirmed. Therefore, programs to improve members' emotional intelligence and self-efficacy are introduced and institutional needs are required.
