Testing Whether a Specific Treatment is Better Than the Others

  • Experimenters often want to test whether a specific treatment is really better than the others. In such a problem we derive the likelihood ratio test and compare the result with other multiple comparisons procedures. A nonparametric procedure based on ranks is also considered. Pitman efficiency of the rank-sum procedure relative to the likelihood ratio test is computed.

A Novel Approach for Well-Test Analysis of Volatile Oil Reservoirs in Two-Phase Flow Conditions

  • Two-phase flow near the wellbore in volatile oil reservoirs causes complications in well test analysis. In this study, the flow behavior of volatile oil reservoirs below the bubble-point pressure and the potential of radial composite model for interpretation of two-phase well test in volatile oil reservoirs was investigated. A radial composite model was used for two-phase well test analysis. A new procedure was developed to interpret well test data and estimate the radius of the two-phase region. The changes in fluid composition near the wellbore during drawdown test were found to increase the saturation pressure, which affects the saturation profile during build-up. Well test results showed that the radial composite method is a powerful tool for well test characterization and estimation of reservoir parameters. The proposed procedure was able to estimate the reservoir parameters and radius of the two-phase region with acceptable accuracy.

  • 최근 임베디드 소프트웨어는 유 무선 통신의 발전 및 디지털 정보기기의 확장, 그리고 이러한 기기들의 컨버전스 등을 통해 그 활용 분야가 급격히 확장되고 있으며 그 기능이나 품질에서도 더욱 완전한 소프트웨어를 개발하려는 노력이 강조되고 있다. 이에 따라 소프트웨어 결함을 조기에 발견하여 임베디드 소프트웨어의 품질을 향상시키려는 소프트웨어 테스트 프로세스에 대한 중요성이 더욱 부각되었으나 고도의 정확성과 실시간 처리가 요구되는 임베디드 소프트웨어에 적용할 수 있는 테스트 프로세스 모델은 없는 실정이다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 임베디드 소프트웨어의 특징과 테스트 프로세스의 특성을 반영한 임베디드 소프트웨어 테스트 성숙도 모델(Emb-TMM) 설계를 위한 절차와 사례연구 결과를 제시한다. 이를 위해 Emb-TMM 설계절차를 참조모델 선정 및 영역 도출, 수준별 영역 분류 그리고 모델 설계라는 세 가지의 큰 부분으로 분류하여 제안한다. 그런 다음 제안한 Emb-TMM 설계절차를 통해 실제로 임베디드 소프트웨어 개발 시 어떻게 적용할 수 있는지를 사례연구를 통해 제시한다.

The Detection and Testing of Multiple Outliers in Linear Regression

  • We consider the problem of identifying and testing outliers in linear regression. First, we consider the scale-ratio tests for testing the null hypothesis of no outliers. A test based on the ratio of two residual scale estimates is proposed. We show the asymptotic distribution of test statistics and investigate the properties of the test. Next we consider the problem of identifying the outliers. A forward procedure based on the suggested test is proposed and shown to perform fairly well. The forward procedure is unaffected by masking and swamping effects because the test statistics used a robust scale estimate.

  • 터보분자펌프와 복합분자펌프의 배기성능을 나타내는 가장 중요한 항목인 배기속도 및 최대압축비와 함께 극한성능을 나타내는 임계배압을 현재 마련되어 있는 KS규격(안)을 준용하여 측정했다. 두 펌프의 성능이 어떤 점에서 차이가 나는지 비교하고 성능평가 절차에 대해 몇 가지 개선점을 제시했다.

Multiple Testing in Genomic Sequences Using Hamming Distance

  • High-dimensional categorical data models with small sample sizes have not been used extensively in genomic sequences that involve count (or discrete) or purely qualitative responses. A basic task is to identify differentially expressed genes (or positions) among a number of genes. It requires an appropriate test statistics and a corresponding multiple testing procedure so that a multivariate analysis of variance should not be feasible. A family wise error rate(FWER) is not appropriate to test thousands of genes simultaneously in a multiple testing procedure. False discovery rate(FDR) is better than FWER in multiple testing problems. The data from the 2002-2003 SARS epidemic shows that a conventional FDR procedure and a proposed test statistic based on a pseudo-marginal approach with Hamming distance performs better.

  • Objectives: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of stimulating Twelve Meridional Dermomeres though moving cupping therapy on obesity Methods: We stimulated abdomen and upper arms in equational strength by using cups for 30minutes a week. It was totally ten times from April 2011 to June 2011. We checked body composition, body measuring and serum lipid test before procedure and after 1st, 4th, 7th and 10th procedure. Results: Body composition and abdomen and upper arms measuring were significantly decreased compared before procedure with after. TG in serum lipid test was significantly decreased but TC, LDL-c and HDL-c in serum lipid test were not significantly decreased. Conclusions: Body composition and body measuring weren't decreased a wide variation, but it was a significant decrease. So it is effective on obesity stimulating Twelve Meridional Dermomeres though moving cupping therapy.

배기계 내구시험 중의 온도 변화 예측을 위한 연구 (A Study on the Prediction of Temperature Change during the Thermal Fatigue Test of Exhaust Manifolds)

  • Exhaust manifolds suffer from serious temperature variation during the thermal fatigue test. The spatial distribution of temperature changes at each moment. Because transient flow can not be simulated during the long period of temperature change, the simulation can not be performed by conjugate heat transfer analysis. In this study, a new procedure for transient thermal analysis is established by decoupling fluid-solid analysis. The procedure consists of (1) transient CFD calculation (2 cycles), (2) mapping heat transfer coefficient to the inner surface of solid mesh as a boundary condition of heat conduction analysis and (3) transient heat conduction analysis in the long period (30 min). The realistic temperature change can be predicted by this procedure.

Practical issues in signal processing for structural flexibility identification

  • Compared to ambient vibration testing, impact testing has the merit to extract not only structural modal parameters but also structural flexibility. Therefore, structural deflections under any static load can be predicted from the identified results of the impact test data. In this article, a signal processing procedure for structural flexibility identification is first presented. Especially, practical issues in applying the proposed procedure for structural flexibility identification are investigated, which include sensitivity analyses of three pre-defined parameters required in the data pre-processing stage to investigate how they affect the accuracy of the identified structural flexibility. Finally, multiple-reference impact test data of a three-span reinforced concrete T-beam bridge are simulated by the FE analysis, and they are used as a benchmark structure to investigate the practical issues in the proposed signal processing procedure for structural flexibility identification.

판토그래프 가혹공력하중에 대한 연구 (Investigation on Severe Aerodynamic Load Condition about Pantograph)

  • The present study describes a practical estimation procedure about the pantograph under several severe aerodynamic load conditions. As the operating speed of the Korean Train Express(KTX) reaches 350km/h, structural safety at various conditions should be examined at the design stage. In the present study, a compact and reliable procedure is developed to get aerodynamic loads on each part of the pantograph regarding the typhoon condition, the train/tunnel interaction, the train/train interaction and the side wind condition. In the estimation procedure, 3-dimensional steady and unsteady CFD simulation around the high speed train facilitates assigning the external local flow condition around the pantograph. The procedure is verified using the results of the low speed wind tunnel test at JARI and applied to 7 flow conditions and 4 operation configurations.
