가변 지속시간을 갖는 이벤트 기반 원격제어 (Event Based Tele-Operation with Variable Holding Time)

  • Necessity of the tole-operation has been increased in many fields. Since the Internet is inexpensive and available all over the world, it is a strong candidate for the transmission media of the tole-operation. However, the Internet has random time delays that may cause instability in the system especially if the tole -operation is bilateral. In the past few years many attempts have been made to overcome the random time delay, So far, they are still insufficient in terms of performance. The ‘Variable holding time’ is introduced to improve the performance of the ‘Event based tole-operation’ which controls a system with a non-time action reference. By holding each event for proper time, the system can quickly respond and be stabilized. The proper holding time should be selected based on the characteristics of the task that the system performs. The factors that reflect those characteristics are investigated. The fuzzy logic is employed to obtain the proper holding time for each event while the tole-operation system is in operation. The experimental results presented in this paper verify effectiveness of the proposed method.

  • In this paper, a robot system is proposed to make it easy to learn about microprocessors. The proposed system consists of several subsystems. Since each subsystem can be operated with other subsystems or without other subsystems, many microprocessor courses can be offered depending on the background of students. Also the proposed system can be used in some robotics courses which emphasize sensor and tele-operation because it contains camera, MPEG encoder, IR sensor, and RF communication module.

  • 본 논문은 유연하고 탄력적인 네트워크 구조를 제공하는 Jini를 기반으로 하는 이동 로봇 제어 시스템의 설계와 구현 방법을 제안한다. 기존의 tele-operation 시스템의 단방향 제어을 개선하여, 제안한 시스템에서는 양방향 제어가 가능하고 클라이언트 시스템과 로봇이 상호 연동할 수 있는 구조를 가진다. 기존의 tele-operation 시스템에 Jini 기술을 도입하여 네트워크상에서 자원 이동이 간편하고 분산 컴퓨팅이 가능한 시스템을 제안하고자 한다. 본 논문은 구체적으로 복수의 작업장 사이에서 자율 이동이 가능하고 새로운 작업장의 네트워크에 자동으로 적응할 수 있는 이동 로봇시스템과 이러한 로봇 시스템과 연결될 수 네트워크 시스템을 제안한다.

  • Use of teaching pendant is the most widespread and economical way to teach desired motion to robots. It is also very primitive,time consuming and ineffective way of teaching which has not changed since the early days of robot. In order to reduce the teaching effor, a new efficient form of teaching is needed. Also, the recent robotics research trend into service robots such as home robot, nurse robot and medical robot calls for a new teaching method which is both easy and inexpensive. In this paper, the design and operation principle of a low cost force/moment sensor is presented. The proposed sensor architecture is so simple and inexpensive that it opens the prospect for a new paradigm of robot teaching which is easy and efficinet. Other prospective areas of application are tele-manipulation of robots wher it can be used in master arm, and virtual environment where it can be used as an user input device.

  • This paper concerns 3-D graphical modeling and simulation techniques for design and control of automated equipment for construction and facility maintenance. A case study on the use of 3-D graphics techniques for developing a power plant maintenance robot is presented. By simulating equipment operation within the 3-D geometry models of the work environment the environment design was improved. The 3-D graphical models of the equipment and the work environment were further utilized for the control of the robot from a remote distance. By presenting the real-time updated equipment configuration and the work environment to the operator, the graphical model-based equipment control system helped the operator overcome the problems associated with spatial perception. The collision between the robot and the plant structures was also avoided based the real-time analysis of the dynamically updated graphical models.

햅틱 디바이스를 이용한 촉감형 네비게이션 시스템 (Tactile Navigation System using a Haptic Device)

  • In this paper, we proposed a haptic navigation system which used the tactile data for the user guides of the mobile robot to the reference point via tele-operation in unknown blind environment. This navigation system can enable a mobile robot to avoid obstacles and move to the reference point, according to the direction provided by the device guides through a haptic device consisting of a vibration motor in a blind environment. There are a great deal of obstacles in real environments, and so mobile robots can avoid obstacles by recognizing the exact position of each obstacle through the superposition of an ultrasonic sensor. The navigation system determines the direction of obstacle avoidance through an avoidance algorithm that uses virtual impedance, and lets users know the position of obstacles and the direction of the avoidance through the haptic device consisting of 5 vibration motors. By letting users know intuitionally, it lets the mobile robot precisely reach the reference point in unknown blind environment. This haptic device can implement a haptic navigation system through the tactile sensor data.

  • Robotic technology has been grown up conspicuously by its versatility. KAERI has been involved in one of facets of robot industry to keep abreast of rapid evolving technologies In robotic field and has launched long-term R&D plan to assure the stable nuclear energy. In this paper, the latest development status of teleoperated robot system has been presented with emphasis the configuration of overall control system with 3 dimensional graphic system that provides operators with tele-presence situation. This robot system under development, composed of master-slave arm with controller and graphic simulator, is operated by a master manipulator to enable an installation and removal operation of nozzle dam system for steam generator. Evaluation and analysis has been carried out to get optimal parameters of robot system.

복강경 수술용 로봇 인스트루먼트의 간접적 작동력 측정법에 관한 연구 (Study for the Indirect Measuring Method of Operational Force in Surgical Robot Instrument)

  • This paper proposes the method indirectly measuring the operating force of the end-effect tip of surgical robot instrument which conducts the surgical operation in the body on behalf of the surgeon's hand. Due to the size and safety obligation to the surgical robot instrument, it is difficult to measure the operation force of its tip like grasping force. However the instrument is driven by cable-pulley torque transmission mechanism and when some force is occurred at the tip, then the reaction force appears on the cable as additional tension. Based on this phenomenon, this paper proposes a method to estimate the operating force from measuring reaction force against the driving motor by using a loadcell. And it induces mathematical equation to calculate the force from loadcell by approaching the modulus of elasticity to high order polynomial. And this paper proves the validity of proposed mechanism by experimental test.
