This paper presents an elastic-plastic solution for the circular tunnel of elastic-strain softening behavior considering the pressure-dependent Young's modulus and the nonlinear dilatancy. The proposed solution is verified by the results of the field measuring and numerical simulation from a practical project, and a published closed-form analysis solution. The influence of each factor is discussed in detail, and the ability of Young's modulus and dilatancy characterizing the mechanical response of surrounding rock is investigated. It is found that, in low levels of support pressure, adopting the constant Young's modulus model will seriously misestimate the surrounding rock deformation. Using the constant dilatancy model will underestimate the surrounding rock deformation. When adopting the constant dilatancy model, as the dilation angle increases, the range of the plastic region increases, and the surrounding rock deformation weakens. When adopting the nonlinear dilatancy, the plastic region range and the surrounding rock deformation are the largest. The surrounding rock deformation using pressure-dependent Young's modulus model is between those resulted from two constant Young's modulus models. The constant α of pressuredependent Young's modulus model is the main factor affecting the tunnel displacement. The influence of α using a constant dilatancy model is much more apparent than that using a nonlinear dilatancy model.
Innovation resistance toward technology products such as e-Marketplace is an important concept in business to business marketing. But most of researches and literatures have not been focused on innovation resistance. Therefore, the objective of this paper is to confirm key factors that effects on the innovation resistance. Additionally this study will be revealed the factors affecting the innovation resistance to information technology of trade according to adopting stage. Based on the past literatures, the innovation resistance of users can be viewed as dependent on two sets of factors came from the study of Innovation Resistance Model(Ram, 1987):perceived innovation(e-Marketplace) characteristics and user(trading company) characteristics. Perceived innovation characteristics consists of relative advantage, compatibility, perceived risk, complexity, inhibitory effect on the adoption of profitable innovation. The user characteristics consist of innovativeness, beliefs and attitude toward existing trade method. And user adoption stage came from the study of Innovation Diffusion(Roger, 1995). To make it simple, this study divides group1(knowledge/persuasion/decision) and group2(implementation/confirmation). In the result of the empirical study, the hypothesis 1, hypothesis 2, hypothesis 4 were supported partially and hypothesis 3 was completely supported.
We introduce a strained-SiGe technology adopting different thicknesses of Si cap layers towards low power and high performance CMOS applications. By simply adopting 3 and 7 nm thick Si-cap layers in n-channel and p-channel MOSFETs, respectively, the transconductances and driving currents of both devices were enhanced by 7 to 37% and 6 to 72%. These improvements seemed responsible for the formation of a lightly doped retrograde high-electron-mobility Si surface channel in nMOSFETs and a compressively strained high-hole-mobility $Si_{0.8}Ge_{0.2}$ buried channel in pMOSFETs. In addition, the nMOSFET exhibited greatly reduced subthreshold swing values (that is, reduced standby power consumption), and the pMOSFET revealed greatly suppressed 1/f noise and gate-leakage levels. Unlike the conventional strained-Si CMOS employing a relatively thick (typically > 2 ${\mu}m$) $Si_xGe_{1-x}$ relaxed buffer layer, the strained-SiGe CMOS with a very thin (20 nm) $Si_{0.8}Ge_{0.2}$ layer in this study showed a negligible self-heating problem. Consequently, the proposed strained-SiGe CMOS design structure should be a good candidate for low power and high performance digital/analog applications.
A Smart factories are systems that enable quick response to customer demands, reduce defect rates, and maximize productivity. They have evolved from manual labor-intensive processes to automation and now to cyber-physical systems with the help of information and communication technology. However, many small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are still unable to implement even the initial stages of smart factories due to various environmental and economic constraints. Additionally, there is a lack of awareness and understanding of the concept of smart factories. To address this issue, the Cooperation-based Smart Factory Construction Support Project was launched. This project is a differentiated support project that provides customized programs based on the size and level of the company. Research has been conducted to analyze the impact of this project on participating and non-participating companies. The study aims to determine the effectiveness of the support policy and suggest efficient measures for improvement. Furthermore, the research aims to provide direction for future support projects to enhance the manufacturing competitiveness of SMEs. Ultimately, the goal is to improve the overall manufacturing industry and drive innovation.
This paper aims at finding some lessons applicable to successful implementation of 'The 3D Printing R/D Project' through both examining the process of adopting overseas industrialized housing production technological knowhow by home builders during the 1970's~1980's period and thereafter until now the various efforts to adjust the technologies efficiently to the Korea's unique situation. Some meaningful lessons can be summarized as follows; I) Deep understanding of 3DP technological know-why along with its inheritance, II) Readjusting of R/D period and goals(cf. Global leader Winsun's 15 years experiment), III) Restructuring for more collaborative R/D B&E system among participating researchers IV) Fostering 3DP expert-engineers and technicians from the early stage, V) Clearing legal barriers in users' adopting 3DP methods necessary, VI) Development of appropriate building material besides concrete. Therefore, it is highly recommended that the above-mentioned 6 lessons positively accepted and applied to the Research Implementation Plan in due course, especially by KICT consortium and KAIA under the guidance of Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport.
This study explores the influence of Taiwan's high-tech manufacturers' innovative strategy and innovation motivation concerning the implementation of innovative activities, as well as the influence of innovative activities implementation on business performance. The two intermediate variables, industry group and enterprise scale are also considered. Through a review of the relevant literature, a theoretical model of the influence relationship is developed, while an empirical analysis is simultaneously conducted on Taiwan's high-tech manufacturers. The research result shows that the internal driving force of innovative activities has a significant impact on the level of implementing technological innovative activities and cultural innovative activities. The external driving force of innovative activities has a significant impact on the level of implementing market innovative activities and management innovative activities. Companies adopting self-developed technology and purchased as well as self-developed technology strategies, perform better than those adopting purchased new technology or those with neither purchased nor self-developed technology strategies, at implementing technological innovative activities and cultural innovative activities. The level of implementing innovative activities has a significant influence on business performance (cost reduction and product/service differentiation). For the intermediate variables of "industry group" and "enterprise scale", it is proven in this study that they have no significant influence on the level of innovative activity implementation or business performance.

Environmental monitoring systems using Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) face the challenge of high power consumption, due to the high levels of multi-hop data communication involved. In order to overcome the issue of fast energy depletion, a proof-of-concept implementation proves that adopting a clustering algorithm in environmental monitoring applications will significantly reduce the total power consumption for environment sensor nodes. In this paper, an energy-efficient WSN-based environmental monitoring system is proposed and implemented, using eight sensor nodes deployed over an area of $1km^2$, which took place in the city of Tabuk in Saudi Arabia. The effectiveness of the proposed environmental monitoring system has been demonstrated through adopting a number of real experimental studies.
Real-time supply chain environments based on RFID will be an important topic in future society; Nevertheless, adopting RFID in real industry SCM is still in its infancy. The aim of this paper is to develop the physical framework of a fully adopting RFID system from manufacturing to recycle phase and measure the effect. So, we built a simulation station with fully appling RFID and analyzed benefits with mathematic model. Then, specifying the advantages and improvement scheme for real industry limitations were suggested. This work concluded that fully appling RFID in SCM gives improvement of quality and service to both production and consumer.
