  • The demand of the bulk emulsion explosives is being increased more and more by using the mechanization loading system in a domestic tunnel sites. Thus, a rational design criteria that is suitable for rock and circumstance condition has been required. In this study, authors investigated a optimum specific charging weight and resonable charging weight based on domestic blasting construction cases, which were performed by using a mechanization bulk emulsion explosives loading system up to now. Authors also analyzed the blasting results and got the following formula $({\Upsilon}= 0.669 + (0.0154{\times}RMR),\;r=0.81)$ from the relationship between a optimum specific charging weight of bulk exp. and rock mass rating. A range of resonable charging weight with a drilling depth is calculated considering a rock conditions.

  • The quality of railroad trackbed fills has been controlled by field measurements of density and bearing resistance of plate-load tests. The control measures are compatible with the design procedures whose design parameter is $k_{30}$ for both ordinary-speed railways and high-speed railways. However, one of fatal flaws of the design procedures is that there are no simple laboratory measurement procedures for the design parameters ($k_{30}$ or, $E_{v2}$ and $E_{v2}/E_{v1}$) in design stage. To overcome the defect, the compressional wave velocity was adopted as a control measure, in parallel with the advent of the new design procedure, and its measurement technique was proposed in the preliminary investigation. The key concept of the quality control procedure is that the target value for field compaction control is the compressional wave velocity determined at optimum moisture content using modified compaction test, and direct-arrival method is used for the field measurements during construction, which is simple and reliable enough for practice engineers to access. This direct-arrival method is well-suited for such a shallow and homogeneous fill lift in terms of applicability and cost effectiveness. The sensitivity of direct-arrival test results according to the compaction quality was demonstrated at a test site, and it was concluded that compressional wave velocity can be effectively used as quality control measure. The experimental background far the companion study (Park et al., 2009) was established through field and laboratory measurements of the compressional wave velocity.

  • After the commercial opening of the KTX in 2005, the high speed railroad has been rapidly emerged as the major transportation means due to its high energy efficiency. Recently, the government has announced its plan to build the future transportation system around the high speed railroad. Based on this policy, the existing lines as well as the lines under construction or design are planning to increase design speed. In this paper, the suitability of the mid-span PSC girder bridges for the high speed railroad is evaluated via dynamic analysis. IT, Precom, and WPC girder bridges are considered for the purpose of this study and, for comparison, the identical modeling method and the analysis technique are utilized. The performance indices used for dynamic performance evaluation are the natural frequency, the vertical displacement, the end axial displacement, track irregularity, etc. The KTX train is utilized as a dynamic load, and the dynamic analysis is performed up to the train speed of 420km/hr with the increment of 10km/hr.

  • Since the domestic utility tunnels were built mainly in the development project of the new city, they are all in the form of cut-and-cover box tunnel. But, in the case of overseas construction of utility tunnels for existing urban areas, the bored tunnel types are mainly adopted. It is reasonable to install bored tunnels in a downtown area because it is difficult to block the roads or install bypass roads due to heavy traffic and civil complaints. In order to activate the utility tunnels in bored type, it is necessary to secure optimized cross-sectional design technology considering the optimal supplying capacity and mutual influencing factors (Thermal Interference, electrolytic corrosion, efficiency of the maintenance, etc.) of utilities (power cables, telecommunication cables, water pipes, etc.). The optimal cross-section design method for bored utility tunnels is ultimately to derive the optimal arrangement technique for the utilities. In order to develop the design methods, firstly, the cases of tunnel cross-section (Shield TBM, Conventional Tunneling) in overseas shall be investigated to analyze the characteristics of the installation of utilities in the section and installation of auxiliary facilities, It is necessary to sort out and analyze the criteria related to the inner cross-section design (arrangement) presented in the standards and guidelines.

  • By rearing private experts to design hazardous facilities, Safety property is obstained. So it is necessary to limit within the designer of hazardous materials facilities who has some degree skill. After permission progress about the inspection of the design ascertain whether it is safety property Mayor/Do governor permits within the laws and their qualification. Accordingly, Korea Fire Equipment Inspection Corporation be come specialization about the design, inspection of construction completion. A inquire purpose of Fire Service Act be considered fitness. Subject by which the Korea Fire Equipment Inspection Corporation is entrusted, subject by which the a non-probit corporation in The Civil Law be possible to entrusted in separate. In this case, because of the level of one's technique and facilities are important, to limit as a nonprobit corporation in The Civil Law give rise to trouble. Consequently; established a business corporation, which the level of one's technique and facilities, in accordance with The Commercial Law can assign inspection of construction completion. The contents of the Fire Services Act is caused by the historic growth of hazardous facilities's safety management. Because we decide on a course about completed inspection of hazardous substance, it is needed that adjust the task performed by a corporation of the exert skill and the duty performed by the task that a authorized corporation on the civil law or the commercial law To adjust the duty, the Fire Service Act, that is suitable to the purpose and principle, should constitute a measure of the duty. With the object of insure the safety of the hazardous substance, when the fire survice act establish a corporation of the expert skill. There is the will of lawmakers that need organization to have the power of the professional technology. The state excise the will that insure the safety of hazardous materials facilities on the basis of the professional technology and facilities, and construct to establish a corporation of the expert skill. Therefore as concentrate on the technology to need to insure the safety of the facilities of hazardous substance to be suitable on the purpose of laws and take responsibility and reports to a corporation of the expert skill. • In this research, problems of recent design methods and their improvement for SIP(Soil-Cement Injected precast Pile) in domestic areas were studied by using the properties of load-settlement curves and bearing capacity from field loading tests. Elastic and plastic settlement for total settlement in each loading step of loading tests conducted in domestic areas has been shown to have a tendency. From this tendency and bearing capacity determined by loading tests, it could be ascertained that empirical chart could be an assistant tool in SIP design. It was shown that SIP design using N-value in domestic area with soil condition of granitic type resulted in very conservative hearing capacity. On the other hands, in soil with unfitted geological conditions, the design could be insecure. Also, we could ascertain that Meyerhof's bearing capacity using modified N-value on the tip part of pile was more applicable than recent design method where tip bearing capacity was 20NA$_p$ N-value limited to 50. These results showed that modified design method could be more economic than those in the past because it used pile's bearing capacity unto tolerable load of pile material.

  • Even in Korea the number of steel structure buildings that allow internal space and easy change of their layouts in accordance with the purpose of buildings and box-type steel bridges constructed with thick plates with thickness in a rage just from a few $\beta$AE to \$100\beta$AE is increasing these days and therefore, domestic fabrication and processing technology of members for steel structures is being improved at a pace faster than in the past to meet the growing requirements of consumers for high reliability on quality control on the related steel structures. However, most domestic fabricators os steel structures who are turning out their steel products in accordance with the designs prepared by engineering companies in their respective works for the sake of cost cut more than anything else, hesitating to introduce any advanced new technology into themselves. In the case of the steel structure design application for small and mid-size buildings in particular, it is quite meaningful not only for those who are involved in steel structure business, but also for the people working at construction work fields to review the result of the study on the connections of steel structure members deigned to obtain superb quality of steel structures within short period for steel fabrication and erection at fields in economical ways, as there is a glowing tendency seeking standardization of connection of steel structure members as well as whole structure together with the development on design of construction system of buildings including their exterior and interior decoration materials, manufacture of the related members and fabrication technique structure. This paper has been prepared with the aim to review the peculiar characteristics of buildings constructed with the main frames of steel structures and actual cases of the change made ing the connections between steel structure columns and between columns and girder members in order to reduce the work period necessary for fabrication and erection of steel structures at the maximum as well as the some examples of steel structures fabricated through automatic welding by robots for box-type columns in addition to the description of the problems found in the course of fabricating those steel structures, suggesting possible counter-measures to solve them.

  • As the load is increased on the steel-concrete composite structure, its interface begins to show nonlinear behavior due to the reduction of interaction, micro-crack, slip and separation, and it causes slip-softening, Therefore, it is essential to consider the partial-interaction analysis technique. Until now, however, full-interaction or, in some instances, the linear-elastic model, which are insufficient to simulate accurate behavior, are assumed in the analysis of composite structure since the analysis method and nonlinear model for interface are very difficult and complicated. Therefore, the design of composite structure is followed by the experimental method which is inefficient-because a number of tests have to be carried out according to the design environments. In this study, we carried out the nonlinear analysis according to various interface nonlinear models by interaction magnitude, and analyzed more accurate structural behavior and performance by maximum tangential traction and slip-softening at the interface. As a result of this study. we were able to prove that the nonlinear model of interface more exactly represents behavior after yielding, such as ultimate load: that initial tangential stiffness of interface has a significant effect on the yielding load of structural members or part: and that the maximum tangential traction and slip-softening mainly effects structural yielding and ultimate load. Therefore, the structural performance of composite structure is highly dependent on the steel-concrete interface or interaction, which may result in initial tangential stiffness, maximum tangential traction and slip-softening in nonlinear model.
