  • The research trend in the corrosion behaviour of stainless steel weldment has been reviewed. The welding technology plays an important role in the fabrication of structure such as chemical plant, power plant, because welding can influence various factors in the performance of plant and equipment. This has led to an increasing attention towards the corrosion behaviour of weldment which has been one of the major issues for both welding and corrosion research engineers. The aim of this paper is to give a short survey of the recent technical trends of welding and corrosion including the electrochemical corrosion, stress corrosion cracking, and corrosion fatigue in connection with the welding materials, welding process, and welding fabrication. This study covers the corrosion behaviour of stainless steel weldment collected from the COMPENDEX DB analysis of published papers, research subject and research institutes.

  • The present paper deals with secular analysis of zooplankton biomass by statistical method in the south sea of Korea during the period of nine years from 1963 through 1971. Data were taken from the Annual Report of Oceanographic Observations, Fisheries Research and Development Agency, Korea. The trend value of annual variations in the 108 month period above was calculated by method of 12 month moving average, and a period analysis was made by ore of correlogram method using autocorrelation coefficients. The trend of zooplankton biomass shows periodical fluctuation for the period of 63 months with high interrelationships. The seasonal variation has teen obvious with growth phase twice a year, in April and October.

  • There are several methods for the hydrogen production such as steam reforming of natural gas, photocatalytic method, biological method, electrolysis and thermochemical method, etc. These days it has been widely studying for the hydrogen production method having low hydrogen production cost and high efficiency. In this paper, patents in the hydrogen production by water electrolysis were gathered and analyzed. The search range was limited in the open patents of USA(US), European Union(EP), Japan(JP), and Korea(KR) from 1996 to 2005. Patents were gathered by using key-words searching and filtered by filtering criteria. The trends of the patents was analyzed by the years, countries, companies, and technologies.

  • As a recent global trend, the majority of mega-size plant projects are delivered through EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) contracts, where a single contract is awarded for engineering, procurement, and construction. Under this contracting mechanism, it is challenging for contractors to carry out the projects under traditional project management processes used in design-bid-build projects. A new EPC Plant, the POSCO Special Steel Plant in Changwon, was built successfully at the beginning of 2012 and it is currently in full-scale production. The project has encountered a number of major difficulties however, with some technical and managerial issues through its development process. As summarized in this paper, the authors (as project participants with the contractor) investigated it as a post construction analysis and recorded the Lessons-learned for future project management improvement.

  • This study was to predict through the trend analysis, one of the forecast technique, the future of library End Information center. In order to do that literature reviews, analysis of library's home page and specialist interview were conducted. As a result, It appeared that based on the trend analysis to predict the middle future(after 5-10 years) of library and information center. The results of this study are as follows. The first, the future information environment is represented by mobile and ubiquitous. Through this, anytime, anywhere, any device, we can be taken any media. The second, the problems of future library are technical, economic, social, ethical and legal problem. The third, unreliable factors come out in time lag, the supply speed of terminals, library services, copyrights and so on. The fourth, the future library is expanded through wireless terminal information access and use, development of mobile technique, universal ubiquitous environment and electronic information's use are extended.

  • This paper reviews and summarizes the fuel-cell-related studies those have been recently published in major Korean Citation Index journals, aiming at analyzing the research trend in fuel cell technologies. Six major journals are selected for the literature survey; 57 papers are chosen for the detailed analysis through a screening examination on the total 1,040 papers published during between 2018 and 2020. Papers are classified into six technical categories, such as i) electrode, ii) electrolyte, iii) bipolar plate and stack, iv) fuel cell system, v) balance of plant, and vi) diagnosis-related studies, and summarized by the experts in the relevant area. Through this paper, we provide a comprehensive review on the recent trends and progress in fuel-cell-related research work in Korea.

  • A technical analysis was conducted to predict the development trend for the highly efficient absorption type refrigeration system. The study was based on a submitted patent during January 1981 and December 2000 in Korea, Japan and America. The total number of extruded patents from the registered database was 24,822 and the filtering process makes the reduction of the data number to 3,510. Technical development of Japan for the absorption type refrigeration system is prominent compared to the other country due to approximately 75% of the patents coming from Japan. When the patent is divided into two categories, the patent for component technology for the refrigeration system makes up 75% and the refrigerating type technology 25% of the patents. This shows technical development for the system component is advanced compared to the technology development for the system type. When the patents are classified by nationality of patent applicants, foreigners contribute up to 33% of the patents in Korea. However, Japan's case shows the 99% of the patents are invented by the Japanese. If the patents are classified to the International Patent Classification, most of the data for the absorption type refrigeration system belongs to IPC F25B.

  • A technical analysis was conducted to predict the development trend for heat pump system. The study was based on a submitted patent from 1983 to 2002 in Korea, U.S.A. and Japan. The total number of raw data from the registered database was 19,261 and the obtained data to be analyzed through the filtering process was 5,143. Technical development of compression type heat pump was more dominant than the other types, absorption, adsorption, and chemical heat pump. The patents for compression type made up over $80\%$ in each country, Most of patents were developed for the defrosting and controlling technology of the compression type heat pump system. Approximately $24\%\;and\;62\%$ of the patents about compression type heat pump were for defrosting and control technologies, respectively.

  • This study aims to derive a technology development roadmap in related fields by utilizing patent documents of financial technology. To this end, patent documents are extracted by dragging technical keywords from prior research and related reports on financial technology. By applying the TF-IDF (Term Frequency-Inverse Document Frequency) technique in the extracted patent document, which is a text mining technique, to the extracted patent documents, the Latent Dirichlet Allocation (LDA) algorithm was applied to identify the keywords and identify the topics of the core technologies of financial technology. Based on the proportion of topics by year, which is the result of LDA, promising technology fields and convergence fields were identified through trend analysis and similarity analysis between topics. A first-stage technology development roadmap for technology field development and a second-stage technology development roadmap for convergence were derived through network analysis about the technology data-based integrated management system of the high-dimensional payment system using RF and intelligent cards, as well as the security processing methodology for data information and network payment, which are identified financial technology fields. The proposed method can serve as a sufficient reason basis for developing financial technology R&D strategies and technology roadmaps.
