  • The purpose of this paper is to analyse outcomes of Korean Pro-basketball games using regression models. Both Classic Fuzzy Regression Model and Fuzzy Regression Model applying linguistic variables were used to meet the purpose of the paper. In General Regression Analysis, in which the results of games are expressed and analyzed through score differences, a regression model is proposed considering influential variables for the score differences of the two teams. In Fuzzy Regression Analysis, the results are sorted into six different literal expressions, 'win with large margin, win with moderate margin, win with narrow margin, defeat with narrow margin, defeat with moderate margin, and defeat with large margin'. Athletic performances and team work of each teams were expressed in fuzzy number to analyse how much athletic performances and team work affect results of games. This paper referred back to 2013-2014 season data provided by KBL(Korean Basketball League) and professional columns on Korean basketball analysis.

  • In this work, thermal phenomena and temperature rise due to thermal source in electric switchboard were investigated using analytical measures. Electric switchboards are assemblies of panels on which are mounted switches, circuit breakers, high current busbars, meter, fuses and terminals essential to the operation of electric equipment. It is very difficult to predict the temperature rise in switchboard due to the existence of several heat sources. To overcome this situations, we focused on the eddy current distribution on the panel of switchboard caused by high current busbars as a fundamental basis. And thermal sources including busbar and switchgear have been considered. Furthermore, thermal transfer phenomena in switchboard was considered theoretically. Finally, three-dimensional thermal model for eddy current analysis has been adopted and FEM analysis was conducted. As a result, three-dimensional numerical analysis found to be applicable to the analysis of thermal phenomena in switchboard.

  • This work aims at examining the cellular uptake behavior of poly(D,L-lactide-co-glycolide) (PLGA) nanoparticles derivatized with a protein transduction domain (PTD) using HeLa cells. For this purpose, $Tat_{49-57}$ peptide derived from transcriptional activation (Tat) protein of HIV type-1 was covalently conjugated to the terminal end of PLGA. Nanoparticles were ten prepared with the $Tat_{49-57}-PLGA$ conjugates by a spontaneous phase inversion method. The prepared particles had a mean diameter of ca. 84 nm, as measured by dynamic light scattering. The interaction of the Tat-PLGA nanoparticles with cells was examined by using confocal laser scanning microscopy. It was found tat Tat-PLGA nanoparticles incubated with HeLa cells could efficiently translocate into cytoplasm, while plain PLGA nanoparticles showed negligible cellular uptake. In addition, even at $4^{\circ}C$ or in the presence of sodium azide significant cellular internalization of Tat-PLGA nanoparticles was still observed. These results indicate that a non-endocytotic translocation mechanism might be involved in the cellular uptake of Tat-PLGA nanoparticles.

  • To comply with CE marking requirements, the electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) and low-voltage directive (LVD) tests are conducted on the sub-racks of International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor (ITER) AC/DC converters and bypass switches. The EMC tests consist of a series of tests, including the electromagnetic interference test, the electromagnetic field immunity test, and the rapid transient burst immunity test. In the LVD test, the electric shock protection test, the xcessive temperature limit and heat resistance of equipment tests, and the fire spread prevention test are performed. This work presents and reviews the European Directive for EMC/LVD and introduces the methods of EMC and LVD tests for the sub-racks of AC/DC converters and bypass switches. It also evaluates the test method and results to meet the European Directive requirements for CE marking. The sub-racks of ITER AC/DC converters and bypass switches successfully pass the EMC and LVD tests.

  • Cofferdam is a temporary levee or dam structure built by using sheet pile or earth materials to prevent water infiltration during construction work of bridge, dam, harbour dock, or hydraulic structures in the river. In this regard, it is required to secure cutoff ability for dry work and workability for rapid installation and removal of the temporary dam or levee structures. In this paper, case studies for design and construction of cofferdam were performed, and water diversion method was briefed with some examples of cofferdam type as well. For the case study details of design and construction were reviewed based on cofferdams under construction related to 16 submerged weirs of "The 4-river restoration project" and dam type cofferdam respectively. From the review, it was known that the method for changing the water flow is selected based on the data from geological and geo-hydraulic site investigation in order to mitigate environmental effects by making sure if the design cross-sectional area of flow and maximum working days are sufficiently guaranteed. Finally, the primary findings and main conclusion derived are summarized that determination of applicable type of cofferdam should be checked by case study and meet design requirements such as water inflow control, constructability.
