The purpose of this study was to identify and compare the types of scientific questions which were generated by elementary students and preservice teachers on the tasks of scientific observation. To identify the types of scientific questions, 4 observing tasks, dry grapes contained in soda pop, candlelight, celery, and a rock were administered to 40 sixth elementary students and 20 elementary preservice teachers. And then, the types and frequency of scientific questions generated by them were compared. The results showed that the types of scientific questions were classified into conjectural questions, causal questions, predictive questions, methodical questions and applicative questions. Further more, subordinate questions to the above questions were classified into object exploration questions and object verification questions, explicans exploration questions and explicans verification questions, result exploration questions and result verification questions, example exploration questions and example verification questions. Subordinate questions did not come out from the methodical questions. The types of scientific questions generated by elementary students and preservice teachers were identical, however, there were differences in frequency. This study supports that elementary students also have cognitive capability to generate various scientific questions. The results of this study may be used as a teaching strategy for the guidance of the direction and the method of scientific inquiry.
Purpose: Parents with a premature infant are usually confronted with difficulties in caring for their babies and need education on appropriate care. On 11-year-old female mixed-breed dog with chief complaints of existence of abdominal enlargement and anorexia was referred to the veterynary teaching hospital of Chungnam National University. The dog was diagnosed into cholangiocarcinoma by the result of the histopathological observation. The results observed are summarized as follows: The clinical signs were abdominal enlargement, anorexia, dyspnea and depression. There were marked increase in serum glutamic pyruvic transaminase(GPT), serum glutamic oxaloacetic transaminase(GOT), lactic dehydrogenase(LDH) and blood urea nitrogen(BUN). Serum total protein and albumin were slightly below normal. In gross finding, the liver was enlarged and friable with numerous white, cauliflower-like nodules over the surface and composed on cysts from 3 to 4 cm in diameter. The cystic lesions contained a yellow gelatinous material. Anatomically, this neoplasm was classified as intrahepatic bile duct carcinoma. Histologically, this neoplasm was combined tubular carcinoma with bile duct cystadenocarcinoma. The former were characterized by tubular structures lined by anaplastic cuboidal or columnar cells with diffuse fibrous stroma, and the latter by multiple cystic structures lined by simple and stratified cuboidal or columnar cells.
In this study, characteristics of the problem solving process of the balancing redox equations was ana-lyzed by mental capacity and problem solving methods, and the pertinent teaching and learning guidance for oxidation-reduction unit was suggested. Participants were 79 senior high school students and 57 science high school students. Tests were conducted to measure the mental capacity, the understanding of the oxidation-reduction concepts and the com-pletion of the balancing redox equations. The framework was made to find the patterns of failure and success. As the analysis of the influence on the performance of mental capacity, understanding of the oxidation-reduction concepts, and problem solving methods, students who had lower understanding of oxidation-reduction concepts selected the trial and error method, and their performance were influenced by mental capacity. The students that had higher understanding of the oxidation-reduction concepts had good performance by using oxidation number method regardless of their mental capacity. As the results of analysis for the patterns, the success patterns of solving the problems, those of mostly the sci-ence high school students, were the cases of using oxidation number method well and lessening problem solving steps. The patterns of failure in solving problems by using trial and error method showed that students had mistakes in cal-culating, errors in making unknown equations, no consideration for all variables, or stopped solving the complicated problems. The patterns of failure in solving problems by using oxidation number method showed that many students had wrong oxidation number or no consideration for mass and charge balance.

The purpose of this study is to explore problems within bibliotherapy research of the 15 thesis papers aimed at improving self esteem, and then to explore development plan. In the current study on bibliotherapy, the problems with bibliotherapy are presented in five aspects. First, there is a lack of professionalism and role of counselor who plays the most important role in bibliotherapy. Second, the situation of the internalizer as an internalizer of bibliotherapy was not reflected in the bibliotherapy program. Third, the lack of diversity in the bibliotherapy program does not keep the reader's interest in bibliotherapy. Fourth, bibliotherapy reading material is limited to text material, which lacks the use of various media. Fifth, there is insufficient validity for the test paper that measures the effectiveness of the reader's bibliotherapy in terms of research methods. Several development plan are proposed based on the factors that affect bibliotherapy. First, it is necessary to develop and train teaching materials to secure expertise of bibliotherapy counselors. Second, it is necessary to develop data on the various media on suitable for bibliotherapy material. Third, it is necessary to review the test paper that can accurately measure the effectiveness of bibliotherapy.

Collaboration between teacher librarians and parents is one of the very important elements for school library management in characteristics of learning communities and expanding its' administration. These partnerships are necessary to relieve stress and risk conditions and improve ego-resilience of students. This study analyzed cases of student guidance within the partnerships between teacher librarians and parents and then inquired into formal or informal communication channels for their partnerships through written interview with 10 teacher librarians. The results of analyses teacher librarians have appreciated the necessity of collaboration with parents, and they have experienced student guidance, career guidance, reader's advisory and balancing acts between classroom teachers and parents. It turns out that reading programs with parents are formal communication channel rather than institutional committee such as School Library Council and Parents' Library-Assisting Volunteers and Parent Association and Training in the school library are informal communication channels. The teacher librarians also provide periodic reading events and training for parents and they utilize the School Homepage and Educational Newsletters as the main ways of public relation. In order to promote students' ego-resilience through their collaboration, parents should involve in School Library Council as an essential way for formal communication. And parents' role in school library management should be expanded from offering helping hands to activities to read book, library instruction, assisting teacher librarians in the Library-Assisted Instruction and production of teaching mediums.
