This study is to find ways of support for beginning teacher induction in elementary school with constructing model of professional development. To achieve this purpose, this study reviewed significance of beginning teacher induction program, the bridge to life learning, and constructed the model of professional development for beginning. The final conclusion about ways of support as support intensity are orientation based on demanding of beginning teacher, bridge connection with veteran teacher, coordination of working conditions, collaboration among peer teacher, and strengthening computer network at week intensity level. At strong intensity level, the ways of support for beginning teacher are institutionalization on election and training of mentor, institutionalization on compulsory induction for 1 year, development and operation of teacher education center, and furtherance of school learning organization.
This case study aims to investigate how a primary English teacher's professional development was pursued through novice teacher mentoring after the six-month intensive in-service teacher training program(IIETTP). The teacher was involved in mentoring two novice teachers working at the same school. They observed each other's classes and exchanged their views on the classes, focusing on areas to be improved. The observation was done within a framework that consisted of pre-, during- and post-observation sessions. Data was gathered through retrospective entries kept after the post-observation meetings. The entries were categorized according to their saliency, frequency and recurring patterns identified. The findings reveal that learning from the training course could be applied professionally and could serve to bridge the gap between training and teaching. It is also shown that the mentee teachers' professional development was enhanced and the mentor teacher herself benefited from the collaborative learning process involved with working with the novice teachers. Some suggestions are made for the effective implementation of school-based teacher development programs after the IIETTP.

This study analyzed the cases of three teacher communities participating in an innovative professional development program and clarified the characteristics and the process of lessons for mathematics-oriented convergence that were developed and applied during the program. Each of the teacher communities designed and implemented lessons according to the context of each community and the concept of lessons for mathematics-oriented convergence were developed and refined. The lessons developed by the three teacher communities were characterized as convergence problem posing lessons using technology, convergence of various subject content focused on mathematical concepts through team teaching, and convergence lessons according to students' achievement levels. The program contributed to teacher community activities by proving sustainable professional development in the area of convergence education, a connection between the content of their professional development and the context of the field, and opportunities for active participation in the process of developing and implementing the convergence lessons.
Learning progression is an advantageous way to describe the development of learner understanding about a topic. In the present study, learning progression is introduced to characterize novice teachers' professional knowledge and competence and to help designing teacher professional development programs in the developmental approach. The development and validation phases of learning progression are proposed in the paper. In addition a case study is presented to demonstrate the process of developing a learning progression for teaching-through-inquiry using ICT. The learning progression in novice teacher professional development can be used to assess the level of teacher understanding in specific topic and to effectively support the development of teachers' professional knowledge and competence via professional development programs in the longitudinal view.
In this paper, I would like to introduce some ideas and problems in mathematics teachers' education. The aims and content of teachers' professional education are discussed with an oriental perspective. What are mathematics teachers' needs in their professional development\ulcorner What contradictions do they meet in mathematics instruction\ulcorner The problems are described with the result of my survey.

The article theoretically analyzed and specified definitions such as: "professional development of personality, competence, professional competence of a teacher". Structural components of professional competence are defined, namely: theoretical involves deep knowledge in the field of special pedagogy, special psychology; technological involves the use of acquired knowledge in practical activities and personal in which important personal characteristics of a special teacher are noted. Criteria and levels of development of professional competence of future special teachers are determined. The article analyzes the peculiarities of the professional activity of a teacher in the conditions of an inclusive educational space, in particular, the special training of a teacher as an integral component of this process. Emphasis is placed on the cooperation of teachers in an inclusive educational institution for the socialization of a child with special needs and her preparation for independent life.

This research has an intention of developing a professional development program. We proposed an alternative mathematics teacher training model based on the situated learning theory, community of practice, and reflective practitioner. The developed mathematics teacher professional development program recruited participation unit that was consisted of 3 or 4 teachers in same school and total of 28 teachers from 9 schools. Also, there were 18 mentors to support each school. In this sense, it can be called multi-tired teacher community professional development program. Through the program, the teachers improve their teaching competency. Also, the operation ability of teacher learning community was improved. Learning community culture has been formed in each school. It shows ability that the explorative learning community can be operated voluntarily although the program finished. Furthermore, community shared corporate responsibility about open class. They recognize open class as a new method to improve community teaching ability than a tool to evaluate individual teaching ability.
In this study, we investigated a good way for teacher professional development. Based on this way, we designed teacher training program. We carried out teacher training program for 50 secondary school mathematics teachers in July 2014. In this teacher training courses, teachers conducted recording mathematics teaching-learning processes by dialogue between teacher and student according to Socratic method. We also shared the practices of teacher educators, teachers and colleagues. In this teacher training, we tried to cultivate teachers' abilities needed to a good mathematics instruction. And we aimed to equip the attitude that guided reflection on their mathematics class. Through the teacher training, teachers recognized the need to study on the thinking of students and take into account students' expected reaction on the part of learners. Also they developed an attitude as reflective practitioners and recognized the need of teacher learning communities for their professional development.

Most of comparative studies in science teacher education so far have been conducted in terms of teacher education policy, pre- and in-service training system and curriculum, and certificate system. While such superficial information can be readily obtainable, it does not necessarily enable us to make access to reality of science teachers' professional development in respective countries, because practice in professional development among science teachers is deeply embedded into respective socio-cultural environment or climate. In order to get information on reality in science teachers' professional development, alternative approaches of research should be developed. This paper aims at pursuing an alternative way to approach reality of Japanese science teachers' professional development. An email survey of free description method with 29 in-service science teachers with a variety of years of experience in Ibaraki Prefecture, Japan, revealed that Japanese science teachers have developed their expertise through very close daily-based communication with their peer science teachers. At least, within their consciousness, neither formal in-service training programs, nor pre-service training programs have had much stronger effects on their professional development than such non-formal, daily-based, deep, apprenticeship-typed or in some sense, family-typed communication. The results suggest that in order to conduct meaningful comparative studies, we should take much more attention to how to make access to reality of science teachers' professional development.
This study investigated elementary and secondary mathematics teachers' views on: (1) Requirements for good mathematics teaching (2) what professional development programs and supports are needed for these requirements. In particular, this study analyzed the common and difference between school levels and teaching experiences. For it, we developed questionnaire and the questionnaire was anonymously answered by one-hundred-five elementary and secondary mathematics teachers. We suggested implications related to professional development programs for mathematics teachers based on common and difference between school levels and teaching experiences.
