수학교육에서 창의성 신장을 위한 열린교육 방안에 대한 연구1) (A Study on Open Education for Developing Creativity in Mathematics Education)

  • The purposes of this study were to design small group collaborative learning models for developing the creativity and to analyze the effects on applying the models in mathematics teaching and loaming. The meaning of open education in mathematics learning, the relation of creativity and inquiry learning, the relation of small group collaborative learning and creativity, and the relation of assessment and creativity were reviewed. And to investigate the relation small group collaborative learning and creativity, we developed three types of small group collaborative learning model- inquiry model, situation model, tradition model, and then conducted in elementary school and middle school. As a conclusion, this study suggested; (1) Small group collaborative learning can be conducted when the teacher understands the small group collaborative learning practice in the mathematics classroom and have desirable belief about mathematics instruction. (2) Students' mathematical anxiety can be reduced and students' involvement in mathematics learning can be facilitated, when mathematical tasks are provided through inquiry model and situation model. (3) Students' mathematical creativity can be enhanced when the teacher make classroom culture that students' thinking is valued and teacher's authority is reduced. (4) To develop students' mathematical creativity, the interaction between students in small group should be encouraged, and assessment of creativity development should be conduced systematically and continuously.

PBL을 적용한 사서교사와 중국어 교과교사의 협력수업 사례 연구 - S고등학교 학생의 학습흥미도 변화를 중심으로 - (A Case Study of Collaborative Classes between a Teacher Librarian and a Chinese Language Teacher Applying Problem-based Learning: With a Main Focus on Students' Degree of Interest in Learning at S High School)

  • 본 연구는 PBL을 적용한 사서교사와 중국어 교과교사 협력으로 이루어진 수업의 사례를 분석하고 학교도서관에서 PBL에 의한 협력 수업을 운영할 때 바람직한 수업의 방향을 제시하기 위한 의도로 이루어졌다. 이러한 목적을 이루기 위하여 인문계 S고등학교 도서관에서 이루어진 PBL 문제 제시 방법, 차시별 수업 내용, 학생 결과물의 사례 등을 제시하였다. 또한 PBL 수업에 참여했던 고등학교 2학년 학생 101명을 대상으로 교과 흥미에 대한 분석을 수행한 결과, PBL에 참여한 후에 학생들의 학습관련 성취욕, 학습 실행력, 흥미가 유의미하게 향상된 것으로 나타났다.

  • The research was aimed at finding the dynamic aspects of the linguistic and social interaction with mathematical concept development using a graphing calculator in collaborative learning. This study was broadly divided into two categories: "Knowledge Construction Statement" for understanding how the verbal interaction works when a graphing calculator is used, and "Teacher's Instructional Role" for the research on the reaction of the students and on the teacher's role as a guide in helping students to construct their knowledge. This research used a case study in a collaborative learning environment. An attempt was made to show clearly how the students interacted with one another in a technology environment using a graphing calculator as a tool. A graphing calculator promoted the students' linguistic interaction and changed the characteristics of the linguistic interaction. Although it didn't show the different aspects completely, some changes of the linguistic traits were perceived.aits were perceived.

Collaborative Learning Agent for Promoting Group Interaction

  • This project aims to design and develop a prototype for an agent that support online collaborative learning. Online collaborative learning, which has emerged as a new form of education in the knowledge-based society, is regarded as an effective method for improving practical and highly advanced problem-solving abilities. Collaborative learning involves complicated processes, such as organizing teams, setting common goals, performing tasks, and evaluating the outcome of team activities. Thus, a teacher may have difficulty promoting and evaluating the entire process of collaborative learning, and a system may need to be developed to support it. Therefore, to promote interaction among learners in the process of collaborative learning, this study designed an extensible collaborative learning agent (ECOLA) for an online learning environment.

수학교사 연수에서 협력적 멘토링의 실제 -'함께 만들어가는 수학교사 연수'의 사례를 중심으로- (Collaborative mentoring in professional development program for mathematics teachers: A case of "PD program of multi-tiered teacher community")

  • This research is the case study of collaborative mentoring in the professional development of multi-tiered mathematics teacher community. We observed the procedures of mentoring, and contents of mentoring in PD program. For this purpose, we implemented PD program with participant unit composed of 3 or 4 teachers in the same school and total 25 teachers from 4 elementary schools and 4 high schools. Also there were 1 mentor and 1 sub-mentor to support each school. Observed mentoring processes were all recorded and the participants not only were interviewed several times but also wrote reflection notes after meetings. While mentoring PD program was implemented, mentor and mentee had joint responsibility about lessons implemented by mentee. Furthermore It showed possibility of change of teacher learning culture, learning culture of community. It means that teacher would improve their professionalism more effectively within teacher community instead of individual. 4 reflection contents was founded in collaborative mentring; 1)purpose of mathematics education, 2)motivation and connection between previous lecture and present lecture 3)lack of mathematical contents in lesson 4)discourse between teacher and students.

컴퓨터를 활용한 수학학습에서의 사회적 측면 (Social aspects of computer based mathematics learning)

  • Computer with various powerful functions has profound potential for mathematics instruction and learning. As computer technology progress, its applicability to mathematics education become more comprehensive. Not only its functional development but various psychological positions also changed the way computer technology utilized in mathematics education. In behaviorist's perspective, computer viewed as a teaching machine and constructivist viewed computer as microworld where students could explore various mathematical contents. Both theoretical positions emphasized individual aspect of learning because behaviorist tried to individualize learning using computer and constructivist focused on the process of individual construction. But learning is not only a individual event but also a social event. Therefore we must take social aspect into account. This is especially important when it comes to computer based learning. So far, mathematics loaming with computer weighed individual aspect of loaming. Even in microworld environment, learning should be mediated by teacher and collaborative learning activities. In this aspect, the roles of teacher and peers are very important and socio-cultural perspective sheds light on the computer based learning. In socio-cultural perspective, the idea of scaffold is very important in learning and students gradually internalize the social dimension and scaffolding is gradually faded. And in the zone of proximal development, teacher and more competent peers guide students to formulate their own understanding. In sum, we must take following points into account. First of all, computer should not be viewed as a medium for individualized teaming. That is, interaction with computer should be catalyst for collaborative activities with peers. So, exploration in computer environment has to be followed by small group activities including small group discussion. Secondly, regardless of the role that computer would play, teacher should play a crucial role in computer based learning. This does not mean teacher should direct every steps in learning process. Teacher's intervention should help student construct actively. Thirdly, it is needed to conceptualize computer in learning situation as medium. This would affect learning situation and result in the change of pre-service and in-service teacher training. Computer to be used effectively in mathematics classroom, researches on assessment of computer based learning are needed.

지리교사들의 교사학습공동체 참여 경험에 대한 근거이론적 연구 (A grounded Theory Study on Experience of Geography Teachers Participating in a Teacher Learning Community)

  • 본 연구는 근거이론을 적용하여 지리교사들의 교사학습공동체 참여 경험을 탐색하였다. 이를 위해 국내의 자생적인 교사학습공동체 중 하나를 선정하여 참여 관찰을 시도했고, 그 과정에서 11명의 연구 참여자를 선정하여 심층 면담을 수행하였다. 수집된 자료는 Strauss and Corbin(1990, 1998)이 제시한 방법에 따라 분석되었다. 개방 코딩 결과 125개 개념, 43개의 하위범주, 17개의 범주를 발견했고 패러다임 모델에 따라 축 코딩을 수행한 결과 중심 현상, 조건, 작용/상호작용, 결과를 도출하였다. 선택코딩 결과 핵심범주를 발견하고 참여자를 4가지 유형으로 구분하였으며 상황 모형도 함께 개발하였다. 이러한 연구 결과 첫째, 지리교사들의 교사학습공동체 참여 요인, 장애 요인, 참여지속 요인을 다차원적으로 파악할 수 있었다. 둘째, 지리교사들의 협력적 교사학습 원리와 협력적 교사학습을 촉진시키는 요인을 추출해 낼 수 있었다. 셋째, 교사학습공동체를 통한 지리교사의 전문성 발달 내용을 이해할 수 있었다.

A Study on Effectiveness of Mathematics Teachers' Collaborative Learning: Focused on an Analysis of Discourses

  • Collaborative learning has been highlighted as an effective method of teachers' professional development in various studies. To disclose teachers' discourse threads in the process of collaborative learning for developing their knowledge, this paper adopted two methods including "content analysis" and "time-sequential analysis" of learning analytics. Such analyses were implemented for mining teachers' updated knowledge and the discourse threads in the discussion during collaborative learning. The materials for analysis involved two aspects: one was from the video-taped lesson observation reports written by teachers before and after discussing, and the other was from their discourses during the discussion process. The results proved that teachers' knowledge for teaching the centroid of a triangle was updated in the collaborative learning period, and also revealed the discourse threads of teachers' collaboration contained "requesting information or opinions", "building on ideas", and "providing evidence or reasoning", with the emphasis on "challenging ideas or re-focusing talk"

사서교사와 국어교사의 협동수업이 중학생의 학습흥미와 학업성취도에 미치는 영향에 대한 연구 (A Study on the Effect of Collaborative Instruction Between a Teacher Librarian and a Korean Language Teacher on a Middle School Student's Learning Interest and Academic Achievement)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 사서교사의 정보활용교육용 교과서인 "도서관과 정보생활"과 중학교 1학년 국어교과를 협동수업을 통해서 운영하고, 협동수업이 학생들의 학습흥미와 학업성취에 어떤 영향을 끼치는지 밝히는 것이다. 연구 결과 학교도서관의 자료를 기반으로 사서교사와 국어교사가 상호 협력하여 공동으로 수업을 계획하고, 전개하며, 평가하는 것은 학생들에게 국어교과에 대한 학습흥미를 촉진시킴으로써 학업성취도 측면에서도 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 학교 교육에서 정보활용교육을 활성화시키기 위해서는 협동수업을 실시할 수 있는 제도적 기반을 마련하는 것이 중요하다. 단위 학교 수준에서는 도서관의 물리적 환경 개선과 충분한 기교재 확충이 필요하다. 또한 정보활용력에 대한 체계적인 지도와 자료 활용을 위한 충분한 수업시간을 확보할 수 있는 탄력형 시간표 편성이 이루어져야 한다.

협력적 탐구와 반성적 실천 맥락에서 예비교사 발문 사례 분석 (An Analysis of a Preservice Teacher's Questioning: The Effect of Practicum Program Based on Collaborative Inquiry Community)

  • 본 연구는 교육실습 프로그램 개발연구의 일환으로서 개발 프로그램에 참여한 예비교사의 발문을 양적 질적으로 분석하였다. 분석 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫 째, 실습과정을 통해 실습생의 교실담화에서 발문이 차지하는 비중이 증가하였다. 둘 째, 수업상황에서 제기하는 발문의 유형이 다양화면서 학생들에게 설명, 정당화 등과 같이 보다 고등수준의 수학적 사고에 몰입할 수 있는 기회를 제공하였다. 세 째, 재성을 동반하는 발문이 증가하였으며, 학생 개인을 대상으로 하는 발문과 학급 전체를 대상으로 하는 발문을 효과적으로 활용하게 되었다. 본 논문에서는 위의 발문 유형에서의 변화 양상을 수업 수행 능력 개발 양상과 연결지어 설명하여 개발 프로그램이 예비교사의 수업 능력 개발에 기여하는 바와 사범대학 교육실습 개선에 대한 시사점을 논의하였다.
