The purpose of this study was to assess the feasibility of task-oriented arm training for chronic hemiparetic stroke patients. The experimental design in this study was the pre-test and post-test with control group for 4-week intervention. Thirty patients with chronic hemiparetic stroke were recruited from 2 rehabilitation units. The subjects were divided randomly into experimental and control groups. The experimental group conducted task-oriented approach, involving 3 subparts of upper extremity activities, and the control group involved in the general upper extremity exercises. Functional movements of the upper extremities were assessed using clinical measures, including the Fugl-Meyer Assessment-Upper Extremity Section, Box and Block Test, and Action Research Arm Test. The score of Fugl-Meyer Assessment showed greater increases in the experimental group than in the control group after training. The improvement in Box and Block Test between pre-test and post-test measurements was significantly greater after task-oriented arm training compared to general upper extremity exercises. Action Research Arm Test scores also improved after task-oriented arm training compared to exercises in the control group. The task-oriented arm training improves the gross and fine motor activities and encouraging the use of the paretic arm through activity dependent intervention expedites the recovery of functional activities in the upper extremities for chronic hemiparetic stroke.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of a task-oriented approach on weight-bearing distribution and muscular activities of the paretic leg during sit-to-stand movement in 18 chronic stroke patients. Both groups were received neurodevelopmental treatment for 30 min/day and then the experimental group ($n_1$=9) followed additional a task-oriented approach (sit-to stand training with controlled environment) and the control group ($n_2$=9) followed a passive range of motion exercise for 15 min/day, five days/week, for four weeks. Weight-bearing distribution and muscular activities of the paretic leg during sit-to-stand movement were measured before and after four weeks of training. There was significantly improved weight-bearing distribution of the paretic leg during sit-to-stand movement in the experimental group compared with that of the control group after four weeks of training (p<.05). But electromyographic activities of the quadriceps and the tibialis anterior of the paretic leg were not significantly different (p>.05). Thus, it is necessary to apply a task-oriented approach to improve the weight-bearing distribution of the paretic leg during sit-to-stand movement in chronic stroke patients.
Objective : The purpose of this study is to investigate the impact of task-oriented approach based on upper limb coordinated movement on the ability of the Korean handwriting in children with developmental coordination disorder(DCD). Methods/Design : This randomized controlled trial designed as a pre-/post- test will compare the effectiveness of task-oriented approach and process-oriented approach on handwriting performance for children with DCD aged 5 to 10. These interventions consist of 10 training sessions and 4 assessment sessions over 7weeks. Children will be measured regard to handwriting legibility, speed and pre-handwriting skills including upper limb movement skills, visual perception and visual motor coordination. Conclusion : This is the first attempt to investigate effects of a task-oriented approach in children with DCD. The significance of this study is to provide the clinical evidences to apply the task-oriented approach improves the children's handwriting performance. Furthermore it will also present a more effective intervention for handwriting by figuring out each approach's impact on the improvement of pre-handwriting skills.

PURPOSE: This study examined the effects on the upper extremity function, muscle strength, and hand function of a task-oriented training approach using a percussion instrument for patients with chronic stroke. METHODS: Twenty-four chronic stroke patients accompanied with upper extremity hemiplegia were selected for research and were classified randomly into 12 experimental groups and 12 control groups. The experimental group performed a task-oriented approach, and the control group performed upper extremity occupational therapy. Stroke upper extremity test, Jebsen-Taylor Hand Function test, upper extremity muscle strength test, and hand muscle strength test were measured before and after training in the evaluation process. RESULTS: In the upper extremity test and Jebsen-Taylor test, there were no significant differences between the groups. In the upper extremity muscle strength test, there were significant differences in shoulder flexion, internal rotation, and elbow flexion in the experimental group. In the hand muscle strength test, there were significant differences in the grip, tip Pinch, lateral Pinch, and 3-jaw chuck in the experimental group and significant differences in only grip, tip pinch, and lateral pinch in the control group. In addition, there were significant differences in the lateral pinch compared to the amount of change. CONCLUSION: Task-oriented approach using percussion instruments for upper extremity rehabilitation in stroke patients is effective in the upper extremity function and strength, hand function, and strength.
This paper describes a cell programming environment that deals with problems associated with programming Flexible Manufacturing Cells(FMCs). The environment consists of the cell programming editor and the automatic generation module. In the cell programming editor, cell programmers can develop cell programs using task level description set which supports task-oriented specifications for manipulation cell activities. This approach to cell programming reduces the amount of details that cell programmers need to consider and allows them to concentrate on the most important aspects of the task at hand. The automatic generation module is used to transform task specifications into executable programs used by cell constituents. This module is based on efficient algorithm and expert systems which can be used for optimal path planning of robot operations and optimal machining parameters of machine tool operations. The development tool in designing the environment is an object-oriented approach which provides a simple to use and intuitive user interface, and allows for an easy development of object models associated with the environment.

With the rise of the Al wave, task-oriented dialogue systems have become one of the popular research directions in academia and industry. Currently, task-oriented dialogue systems mainly adopt pipelined form, which mainly includes natural language understanding, dialogue state decision making, dialogue state tracking and natural language generation. However, pipelining is prone to error propagation, so many task-oriented dialogue systems in the market are only for single-round dialogues. Usually single- domain dialogues have relatively accurate semantic understanding, while they tend to perform poorly on multi-domain, multi-round dialogue datasets. To solve these issues, we developed a paddle-based multi-domain task-oriented Chinese dialogue system. It is based on NEZHA-base pre-training model and CrossWOZ dataset, and uses intention recognition module, dichotomous slot recognition module and NER recognition module to do DST and generate replies based on rules. Experiments show that the dialogue system not only makes good use of the context, but also effectively addresses long-term dependencies. In our approach, the DST of dialogue tracking state is improved, and our DST can identify multiple slotted key-value pairs involved in the discourse, which eliminates the need for manual tagging and thus greatly saves manpower.

This paper presents an algorithmic approach used in the development of a task-level off-line programming system for the efficient applicaiton of robot. In the method, robot tasks are graphically described with manipulation functions. By applying robot language these graphic robot tasks are converted into commands for the robot. A programming example demonstrates the potentiality of task-oriented robot programming.
Background: Many studies regarding task-oriented training have recently demonstrated functional improvement in patients with post-stroke hemiparesis. The task-oriented approach is very diverse, and chronic stroke patients must have access to a sustained systematic treatment program to enhance their walking ability. Objectives: This study aimed to compare the effects of the task-oriented circuit training and treadmill training on walking function and quality of life in patients with chronic stroke. Methods: Fourteen patients with chronic stroke volunteered for this study. The subjects were randomly divided into a task-oriented circuit training group and a treadmill training group with 7 patients in each. Each training regimen was performed for 30 min a day and 3 days a week for 4 weeks. Assessment tools included the Timed Up-and-Go Test (TUGT), 10-m Walk Test, 6-min Walk Test (6MWT), and the Stroke Impact Scale (SIS). Results: The change in results of the TUGT, 6MWT, and SIS measured prior to and following the training regimens appeared to be significantly different between the two groups (p<.05). In addition, after the intervention, significant differences were found for all parameters in the task-oriented circuit training group and for the TUGT, 6MWT, and SIS in the treadmill training group (p<.05). Conclusion: The findings suggest that task-related circuit training and treadmill training may be helpful to improve walking function and quality of life of patients with post-stroke hemiparesis. Additionally, a task-related circuit training program may achieve more favorable outcomes than a treadmill program.

This paper describes a task level cell programming environment that deals with difficulties in programming Flexible Manufacturing Cells (FMCs), and consists of the cell programming editor and the automatic generation module. Test results are illustrated in order to demonstrate the applicability of the developed envifonment.
A new methodology for representing the interaction between machines and the interlock signals required in FMCs has been developed. Object-Oriented Philosophies (OOPs) lend themselves to the development of such a scheme. A methodology developed here regards the tasks to be performed by the cell or any of its constituent machines for being primal. Sensory signals indicating the changes of state pf machines are used to trigger or initiate tasks. A task may be simple and require a relatively short time to execute, or may be complex and lengthy. This methodology may be depicated by a set of diagrams called Task Initiation Diagram (TID) and their accompanying rules.
