Asbestos is a commercial term of natural occurring silicated minerals and forms long, thin fibers. Chrysotile, the serpentine asbestos, accounts for most use in commercial use. Asbestos is well known health hazard material and it is proved that inhalation of asbestos fibers leads to increased risk of developing several diseases such as lung cancer, mesothelioma, asbestosis. In these days, people most at risk for exposure are maintenance and construction workers and general citizens who are working on and close to the work area at which asbestos containing material is disturbing. Non asbestiform, though its chemical composition is same with regulated asbestos, is known to be less hazardous than asbestiform. Exposure guideline, 0.01 f/ml, is not safe level in terms of health risk. It is reasonable to take preventable action when asbestos is suspicious. In Korea, it is necessary to clarify the concept between hazard and risk, to differentiate asbestiform from non asbestiform, to make regulations for compensation for asbestos related patients, to manage future exposure for general citizens.

Drying shrinkage means the reduction of volume of concrete because of the loss of water in concrete. This shirinkage can cause tensile stresses, crack formations at the exposure surfaces in concretes. The purpose of this paper is to apply differential shrinkage model which uses moisture diffusion equation and to calculate more reasonable shrinkage quantity, the stresses of concretes. The result of this papar is that the mean value of differential shrinkage is similar to the existing result but at exposures surface the shrinkage strains are more large. From this result the possiblility of crack formation can take place. Thus a resonable counterplan for tensile stresses in exposure surfaces is necessary.

This study presents meteorological data integrity to improve environmental quality assessment in Yongdam catchment. The study examines both extreme ranges of meteorological data measurements and data reliability which include maximum and minimum temperature, relative humidity, dew point temperature, radiation, heat flux. There were some outliers and missing data from the measurements. In addition, the latent heat flux and sensible heat flux data were not reasonable and evapotranspiration data did not match at some points. The accuracy and consistency of data stored in a database for the study were secured from the data integrity. Users need to take caution when using meteorological data from the Yongdam catchment in the preparation of water resources planning, environmental impact assessment, and natural hazards analysis.

This study is focused on a climate data integrity to improve water quality assessment due to the social development projects. The study is in an attempt to calculate both extreme ranges of weather data measurements and partly provide means to assess qualification of data which fall within the extremes at the 23 meteorological weather stations. Generally speaking, maximum temperature, minimum temperature, relative humidity, dew point temperature are in the range of reasonable accuracy. However, there found some outliers of the brightness sunshine hours in Cheonan station. Also some years in Gwangju, Seoul, Wonju, Busan, and Jeju never reach to their upper limit and perhaps the calibration of the equipment is doubtful. The users need to take cautions in using the brightness sunshine hour data in preparation of water resources planning and management by estimating evapotranspiration and river discharge, and/or growth rate of the algae (phytoplankton).

A mathematical model for wall-flow monolith ceramic diesel particulate filter was developed in order to describe the processes which take place in the filter during regeneration. The major output of the model comprises ceramic wall temperature and regeneration time(soot reduction). Various numerical tests were performed to demonstrate how the gas oxygen concentration, flow rate and the initial particulate trap loading affect the regeneration time and peak trap temperature. The model is shown to b in reasonable agreement with the published experimental results. This model can be applied to predict the thermal shock failure due to high temperature during combustion regeneration process.

Food ＆ beverage part of nowadays hotel is steadily going up with the improvement of tourism industry and with the raise of income of the people, but some of the hotel kitchen has unchanged problem of low commercial profit and can't make improvement, so there are many kitchen problems. Especially, for the administrators of the hotels are avoiding from Korean kitchen with their cause that it makes lower profit than the other kitchen style. So, they are avoiding Korean kitchen itself, or showing minimized running. But, Korean kitchen should take off from its ways of being an assistant role or necessary evil as the part of income, by finding ways to make appropriate profit and ways to fulfill the variant desires of guests by running systematized and reasonable menu and Food cost control. This study is to suggest efficient management ways for the raise of profit and satisfaction of the guests by finding ways by analyzing the present situation of the menu and Food cost control of Korean kitchen by understanding these problems.

Some test results indicated that the current ASTM grip adapter of GFRP rebar was not successful in developing the design tensile strength of GFRP rebar with reasonable accuracy. It is because the current ASTM grip adapter of GFRP rebar does not take into account the various geometric characteristics of GFRP rebar such as surface treatment, shape of bar cross section, bar deformation as well as physical characteristics such as poisson effect, elastic modulus in the transverse direction and so on. The research reported in this paper is to provide how to proportion an adequate grip adapter to develop design tensile properties of GFRP rebar. The proposed grip adapter is derived from the equilibrium or compatibility equations. From the preliminary test results for rounded GFRP rebar, it was found that the grip adapter with specific size proportioned by proposed method shows the highest tensile strength among them.

This paper analyzed the color of harbor and fishing village for the better landscape. Accordingly the aim of this study is to find out the color-scape in harbor, such as regional color and present status are to analyze with elements of design. In beginning point of development, it is to take practicable data about color planning for marine tourism. Regarding the utility of these characteristics, hue, value, chroma can be checked and design of color-scape may be possible to work out future harbor environments. This study suggests that harbor of contemporary is to be environmental harmony and regional color control. The result of this research, it is carried out that the color-scape is checked by partnership of experts, official and regional person with "agreement of landscape" to provide reasonable criteria in color surroundings. An analysis of regional color-scape is expected to use for landscape improvement of fishing village and harbor.

To study the effectiveness of sliding isolation in a CRLSS (concrete rectangular liquid-storage structure) and develop a reasonable limiting-device method, dynamic responses of non-isolation, sliding isolation with spring limiting-devices and sliding isolation with steel bar limiting-devices are comparatively studied by shaking table test. The seismic response reduction advantage of sliding isolation for concrete liquid-storage structures is discussed, and the effect of the limiting-device type on system dynamic responses is analyzed. The results show that the dynamic responses of sliding isolation CRLSS with steel bar-limiting devices are significantly smaller than that of sliding isolation CRLSS with spring-limiting devices. The structure acceleration and liquid sloshing wave height are greatly influenced by spring-limiting devices. The acceleration of the structure in this case is close to or greater than that of a non-isolated structure. Liquid sloshing shows stronger nonlinear characteristics. On the other hand, sliding isolation with steel bar-limiting devices has a good control effect on the structural dynamic response and the liquid sloshing height simultaneously. Thus, a limiting device is an important factor affecting the seismic response reduction effect of sliding isolation. To take full advantage of sliding isolation in a concrete liquid-storage structure, a reasonable design of the limiting device is particularly important.

CISG Article 50 contains the remedy of price reduction but limits it if the seller has a right to cure. Reduction of price presupposes that the seller delivers non-conforming goods, and that the buyer decides to accept them nevertheless. The remedy of price reduction differs from all other remedies provided in CISG with regard to it effects and to the time-limits. As to the time-limits, unlike Articles 46 and 49, Article 50 does not contain the element within a reasonable time. CISG imposes no period of time for his reducing the price. The buyer's right to declare a reduction of the price is expressly subject to the seller's right to remedy any failure to perform his obligations pursuant to Articles 37 and 48. The problem lies in determining from where to take the figures for comparing the value of the goods contracted and of those delivered. The price level in this place will usually determine his considerations as to resale or repair of the defective goods. The buyer must examine the goods, or cause them to be examined, within, as short a period as is practicable in the circumstances. The buyer loses the right to rely on a lack of conformity of the goods if he does not give notice to the seller specifying the nature of the lack of conformity within a reasonable time after he has discovered it or ought to have discovered it.
