Hybrid Type Structure Design and DLT-Replacement Circuit of the High-Speed Frequency Synthesizer (고속 스위칭 동작의 주파수 합성기를 위한 하이브리드형 구조 설계와 DLT 대체 회로 연구)

  • The conventional PLL(phase locked loop) frequency synthesizer takes a long switching time because of the inherent closed-loop structure. The digital hybrid PLL(DH-PLL) which includes the open-loop structure into the conventional PLL synthesizer has been studied to overcome this demerit. It operates in high speed, but the hardware complexity and power consumption are the serious problem because the DLT(digital look-up table) is usually implemented by the ROM which contains the transfer characteristic of VCO(voltage controlled oscillator). This paper proposes a new DH-PLL using a very simple DLT-replacement digital logic instead of the complex ROM-type DLT. Also, a timing synchronization circuit for the very small over-shoot and shorter settling time is designed for the ultra fast switching speed at every frequency synthesis. The hardware complexity gets decreased to about $28\%,$ as compared with the conventional DH-PLL. The high speed switching characteristic of the frequency synthesis process can be verified by the computer simulation and the circuit implementation.

  • Microprocessor based digital filter was designed rising focus number system in order to increase the multiplication speed of microprocessor program. Addition and subtraction program was treated using look up table. The sampling speed was improved up to 500 samples per seconds on the third-order low- Pass digital filters.

  • In this study, we have analyzed the cost of korea high-speed railway system. The predicted cost in planning phase and adjustment data to 5th year are collected. Then, predicted cost is compared with adjustment in year/item/system base. We make a project history table for criteria to review project history and research & development activity. We have developed CBS(cost breakdown structure) and allocated adjustment data to them. It is shown that cost prediction related to research & development activity in planning phase is relatively correct.

  • Linear motor is characterized by its high velocity, high acceleration and good positioning accuracy. In recent years, linear motor is often used as a fast feed mechanism for high-speed machine tools. For the effective application of linear motors to machine tools, many demands on machine conceptions must be fulfilled. In this paper, some important construction concepts such as bending deformation of machine table, frictional force on the linear guidance and thermal behavior of linear motors are presented.

  • Loop shaping $H_{\infty}$control with normalized coprime factorization was applied to a servo-motor driven high-speed powitioning system. The high-gain controller was designed to attenuate the postion errors caused byfriction effects and extermal disturbances. The non-existence of limit cycle was analyzed, though there is actuator saturation. The designed $H_{\infty}$control system was experimently tested in a rotary index table. Results showed its effectiveness to improve postion accuracy with out any compensation scheme for friction, and robustness to model perturbation and external disturbances.ces.

  • A novel real-time color gamut mapping method is described. The color gamut mapping method that is used for enhancing the color reproduction quality between PC monitor and printer devices is adopted for digital TV display quality enhancement. The high definition digital TV display devices operate at the clock speed of around 70MHz ~ 150MHz and permit several nano seconds for real-time gamut mapping. Thus, the concept of three-dimensional reduced resolution look-up table is introduced for real-time processing. The required hardware can be greatly reduced by look-up table resolution adjustment. The proposed hardware architecture is successfully implemented in FPGA and ASIC and also successfully adopted in digital TV display quality enhancement purposes.

  • In order to manufacture a precision mold/die by machining, users need high speed & precision mold/die machining center. So, for development of this machine, we intend to use linear motor that is instead of ball-screw, servo-motor and coupling, high-speed spindle of pressurized air journal bearing and composite materials. In this paper we research column moving type and table moving type. The former is mainly piling 3 axes on one moving body, the latter is consist of two independent carriages. Both types are available to high speed & precision machine, but we finally draw a conclusion column moving type due to an advantage of high-speed control of linear motor.

  • In order to manufacture precision parts which are used for IT and BT Industry by machining, users need higher speed & precision machining center. So, for development of this kind of machine, we designed gantry type machining center which is piling of 3 axes on one moving body and the 2-axis rotary table is fixed on the base. It is applied linear motor that is instead of ball-screw and servo-motor combination and 50,000 rpm high-speed spindle. Composite material structure called mineral casting or resin concrete is applied also. This paper presents design technology and evaluated results of high speed and precision machining center.

  • This paper presents implementation of digitally speed sensorless control system for induction motor with a direct torque control(DTC) using 32bit DSP TMS320C31. The system are closed loop stator flux and torque observer for wide speed range that inputs are currents and voltages sensing of motor terminal, MRAS with rotor flux linkages for the speed turning signal, two hysteresis controllers, optimal switching look-up table and IGBT voltage source inverter. There are suggested a control algorithm and system, and given simulation and implementation results on the 2.2Kw general purposed induction motor.
