Antimutagenic Effects of Linoleic Acid

  • In order to determine the effectiveness of linoleic acid(LA) to inhibit carcinogens/mutagens-induced mu-tagenesis, Ames test using Salmonella typhimurium TA100 and the SOS chromotest using E. Coli PQ37, were carried out. The inhibitory effect of LA(1%) on the Ames mutagenicity test were 98%, 78%and 69% mediated by aflatoxin B₁(AFB₁), N-methyl-N'-nitro-N-nitrosoguanidine(MNNG) and 4-nitroquinoline-1-oxide(4-NQO), respectively. LA exhibited a strong antimutagenic activity aganist indirect mutagen, AFB₁whereas exhibited the same concentration of LA showed weaker inhibitory effects on direct mutagens of MNNG and 4-NQO than that AFB₁. LA also reduced the SOS responses induced by MNNG and 4-NQO significantly. This result showed a possibility that LA can be a protective agent in early step of cancinogenesis.

Antimutagenicity and Cytotoxicity of Artemisia iwayomogi Kitamura Extracts (더위지기 추출물의 항돌연변이원성 및 세포독성효과)

  • The antimutagenic activity of three kinds of extract such as fresh juice, ethanol extract and water extract of Artemisia iwayomogi against 3 - amino - 1, 4 - dimethyl - 5H - pyrido [4,3-b] indol (Trp-P-1) and N - methyl - N' - nitro - N -nitrosoguanidine(MNNG) was demonstrated with the Salmonella typhimurium assay. The number of revertants per plate decreased significantly when these extracts(0.5ug/plate) added to the assay system system using S. typhimurium TA 100. These extracts also showed prominant cytotoxic activity against four different kinds of human cancer cell as human lung cancer cell (A549), breast cancer cell(MCF7), fibrosacoma cell(HT1080) and gastric cancer cell(KATOIII), respectively.

Antimutagenic Effect of Korean Mistletoe Extracts (겨우살이 추출물의 항돌연변이 효과)

  • This study was carried out to investigate mutagenecity and antimutagenic effects from crude extract, heating extract and alcohol extract of Korean mistletoe(Viscum album L.) on the bacterial short-term tests, such as Ames test, spore rec-assay, SOS spot test and SOS chromotest by using several kinds of mutagens. In the Ames test, each extract did not show any mutagenesis, but each extract showed inhibitory effects of 80∼95% and 70∼94% against mutagenesis induced by 3-amino-1, 4-dimethyl-5H-pyrido[4,3-b] indole(Trp-P-1) and 2-aminofluorene(2-AF) in Salmonella typhimurium TA98, respectively. In th spore rec-assay, mistletoe ectracts showed antimutagenic effect with inhibiton zone in the range of 5∼11mm against mutagenicity induced by mitomycin C(MMC, 18mm) and N-methyl-N'-nitro-N-nitrosoguanidne (MNNG, 24mm), respectively. The heating and alcohol extracts in the SOS chromotest showed 96% and 70% inhibition against benzo-α-pyrene[B(α)P] and Trp-P-1 induced mutagenesis, respectively.

수소 플라즈마 전처리 공정을 이용한 EM 저항선 개선

  • 반도체 소자의 고집적화는 배선에서 많은 문제점을 야기 시킨다. 이러한 문제점들 중에서 대표적인 것이 과도한 전류밀도에 의한 electro-migration(EM)이다. 이는 앞으로 배선의 선폭이 0.25$mu extrm{m}$미만일 경우 더욱 심화될 전망이다. 이에 대안으로 Al-합금에서 Cu로 대체하여 이러한 문제를 해결하려 하고 있다. 그런데, Cu는 Si 및 SiO2와 높은 반응성과 빠른 확산속도를 가지기 때문에 확산방지막이 필요로 되어진다. 현재에는 TiN, TaN 등의 확산방지막이 사용되어지고 있으나, TiN 박막의 경우 표면에 Ti와 oxide와의 결합에 의해 Ti-O 성분이 존재하는데, 이럴 경우 Cu 증착을 하는데 있어 부정적인 요인이 된다. 또한, 이러한 화합물은 Cu와 TiN 계면사이에 밀착성을 나쁘게 하여 고전류 인가시 EM에 있어 높은 저항성을 가질 수가 없다. 따라서, 본 연구는 MOCVD방식으로 Cu 박막을 증착하기에 앞서 수소플라즈마를 이용하여 TiN 표면에 형성된 산소 화합물을 제거한 후 Cu를 증착하여 동일한 조건에서 EM 가속화 실험을 하였다. 그림 1은 Cu/TiN 구조에 있어 수소 전처리를 한 배선의 구조의 MTF(mean time to failure)가 65분이고 전처리를 하지 않은 배선구조는 40분으로 약 50% 긴 MTF를 가지는 것으로 나왔다. 결론적으로 Cu와 TiN 계면에 좋은 밀착성은 EM에 있어 우수한 저항성을 가지는 것으로 나왔다.

  • Thermoleastoplastic analysis of a typicaldevice consisting of tube and moving part having an initial clearance in between, which is subjected mechanical and thermalload, has been carried out toexamine the cause of malfunction mainly at hightemperature condition, and to improve the design. Permant deformation, extraction force, and stress distributions are discussed by using finite element method. The extraction energy can be remarkably reduced by changing the configuration of the cylinder from straight-type to ta[er-type and this effect has been proved by sustained cyclic test.
