In this paper we describe SLA metrics and software architecture for newly upcoming IP TV service. Firstly we show the general description for IP TV. This consists of brief description of IP TV, the general figure of configuration and elements of IP TV network and communication protocol stack of IP TV data transmission for deriving communication quality parameter. And we propose SLA metrics depending on quality measurement point. According to the measurement point the measurable SLA metrics are different. The total view of the IP TV SLA measurement and management architecture is shown. When the quality measurement point is the routers that consist of internet node, the IP media NMS is the quality collection system. And when the quality measurement point is the IP TV STB(Set-Top Box), the IP media collector and Quality Collection Server are the quality collection system. And we show the software block diagram of IP TV SLA processing system and the other related network management systems.
It was the 18th presidential election TV debate Twitter participation of SNS. Began to diverge as the era of social media, combined with SNS through in the mass media, media web 2.0. Search tweets, retweets, while the formation of policy issues, the agenda of Twitter users to listen to the statements of the candidates using the Internet or a smartphone. Content during the progressive tweets core keywords you do not often discussed, followed by the negative information increases the number of tweets has become a policy issue. Top retweets was to evaluate the process of debate, regardless of the issue. Tweeter complements the TV so Twitter has made public opinion. Smart phones and SNS Twitter, combined with the TV and the participation and direct democracy, voters vote one instrument was realized. The diffusion of OTT service has brought the fundamental changes in the value chain of the existing media industry. OTT service based on the public Internet has increased the number of subscribers by using dominant marketing capability, making the pay TV platform player's ability to connecting users powerless. This study examined the changes in the media market and pay TV industry in the USA due to the diffusion of OTT service and analyzed the changing strategies of media firms. The number subscribers of the expensive pay TV service in the USA has diminished, experiencing cord cutting and cord shaving due the diffusion of OTT. OTT players are changing the media market, showing the dramatic excellence in making original contents and distributing the newly released movies. Examination of the recent merger and acquisition cases of media firms tells that the investment in making original contents has increased in order to have the competitiveness in OTT business. The future media industry will be rapidly reshaped mainly based OTT service and strategic judgement is important to maintain the competitiveness of all media firms in the existing value chain of media industry.
The purpose of this study is to find an efficient marketing strategy in terms of media channel communications using one specific case study. Results of previous studies have shown that consumers' exposure to TV, newspaper, radio and magazine related to description of corporate image tends to be influential for consumers' product image, which mainly consists of product preference, expertise, and credibility. It means that media strategy should be different, depending on what kinds of image they try to be purposive. In conclusion, we concluded that TV and radio should be the best vehicle for increasing consumers' positive preference rather than those of newspaper and magazine. Newspaper and magazine are also influential in terms of expertise, and newspaper and magazine should be better than TV and radio in terms of credibility. The results of this study should be similar to previous studies in that TV and radio should be more inducing interest, and print media should be more credible than TV and radio.

This study testes an application possibility of the Elaboration Likelihood Model broadly used in communication science into forest science and examines the communication effects according to the media types. To examine the effectiveness of this model, the study sets involvement, the need for cognition, and the need for effect as motivation variable and prior knowledge as an ability variable. Most variables appear to be significant in the regression analysis and results of the study verify the possibility of the application of the Elaboration Likelihood Model in forest science. To measure the media effects, a simulation is also carried out using three media including television, newspaper, and the Internet. According to ANOVA analysis, television is more persuasive than newspaper, and there is no difference between television and the Internet in terms of persuasiveness. Regarding recall, television and the Internet are more effective than newspaper. Finally, the present study suggests effective and efficient forest communication policies based on the results.

In this paper, we present a design and implementation of a personalized broadcasting system using TV-Anytime metadata for providing personalized services. The TV-Anytime specifies metadata schema, metadata coding and delivery, and provides service models to provide personalized broadcasting content services at anytime when users want to consume using metadata, which includes ECG (Electronic Content Guide) and content descriptive information in a PDR (Personal Digital Recorder)-centric environment. The proposed personalized broadcasting system consists of a server that provides metadata binary-coding, encapsulation and multiplexing, and a client terminal that takes charge of de-multiplexing, metadata decoding, and metadata processing for personalized content accessing and consumption. This paper presents the details of the design of each functional module, and the evaluation results with a set of service scenarios in an end-to-end broadcasting test-bed.
The digitalization of a broadcast has caused the oversupply of the contents in order to fit the user's needs for various broadcast services. The massive contents could not help demanding one-sided watching without considering a taste and preference of a user. This situation is enlarging the demand about the personalized broadcast service to enable user to watch broadcast contents in anytime according to surplus provision of broadcast contents. TV-Anytime standard could be a solution for broadcast service to enable users to watch personalized broadcast contents according to their preference. The paper proposes the personalized broadcasting system for authoring, receiving and transmission of TV-Anytime metadata, the detailed information about the broadcast contents so that user could efficiently search a large of broadcast contents stored in the PDR(Personal Digital Recorder)receiver under the DCATV(Digital Cable Television) environment.
Traditional broadcasting environment is merged with various interactive broadcasting services, and the users use these services through Set-Top-Boxes. But they have limited user interfaces, which are not suitable for TV environments by adopting internet formats. Therefore, this paper suggests a User Navigating Interface which helps the audiences to select and watch their favorite channels more effectively. Firstly, this paper analyzes EPG interface - the most basic service in interactive broadcasting. Secondly, it suggests a user interface and service structure suitable in the network-integrated TV environment.

Augmented reality (AR) is a popular service in mobile devices, and many AR applications can be downloaded from app stores. As TV broadcasting has continued to integrate with the Internet, it has become an area in which the AR concept is able to reside, although in a simple form, such as an advertisement placed in the static region of a scene. There are some restrictions against TV broadcasting realizing AR since TVs are fixed devices and typically do not have GPS, geomagnetic, or acceleration sensors, which are standard equipment in mobile devices. However, the desire to experience AR on a large TV screen has triggered research and development for an ideal AR business model and service type. This paper introduces several use cases for augmented broadcasting services and also presents an augmented broadcasting metadata scheme designed for a broadcasting environment. We also verify some of the use cases and an augmented broadcasting metadata scheme in an implemented augmented broadcasting system based on a hybrid TV platform.
For this study, we conducted a survey targeting elementary school students to examine how the type of family communication shows differences in the children's use of media to draw up effective measures to use media. The result of study is that meaningful differences showed according to the time spent watching TV(F=6.719, p<.05) and using PC(F=7.713, p<.05) or cell phone(F=6.404, p<.05). The authoritative type pursuing obedience preferred entertainment programs and spent much time watching TV and preferred entertainment games when using a PC. The deliberating type pursuing conversations preferred educational and informative programs when watching TV and informative programs when using a PC. This study is meaningful in that it presents lessons learned to draw up measures for children to effectively use media based on the study results.
