Automatic Extraction of Particle Streaks for 3D Flow Measurement

  • Circular dynamic stereo has special advantages as it enables a 3-D measurement using a single TV camera and also enables a high accurate measurement without a cumbersome calibration. Annular particle streaks are recorded using this system and the size of annular streaks directly concerns to the depth from TV camera. That is, the size of annular streaks is inversely proportional to the depth from the TV camera and the depth can be measured automatically by image processing technique. Overlapped streaks can be processed also by our method. The flow measurement in a water tank is one of the applications of our system. Tracer particles are introduced into the water in a flow measurement. Since the tracer particles flow with water, three-dimensional velocity distributions in the water tank can be obtained by measuring the all movement of tracer particles. Experimental results demonstrate the feasibility of our method.

  • 양안 입체 TV 에서는 3 차원 카메라의 시점거리에 따라 눈의 편안함과 3 차원 효과 사이에 대차 관계가 존재한다. 일반적으로 카메라 사이의 거리가 인간의 동공 사이의 거리인 65㎜ 일 때 최적의 효과를 낸다고 한다. 그러나 일반적인 방송용 화질의 상용 카메라는 렌즈 크기가 크기 때문에 이 거리를 맞춘 3 차원 카메라를 제작하기는 매우 어렵다. 그래서 보기 편한 양안입체 영상을 제공하기 위해서는 스테레오 카메라에서 얻은 영상을 조작하여 원하는 가상 시점에서의 영상으로 만들어 줄 필요가 있다. 본 논문에서는 먼저 적응적 다중 창틀 정합을 이용한 계층적 변이 추정을 사용하여 변이 지도를 추출하고, 이것을 이용하여 가상 시점에서의 영상을 합성했다. 다양한 스테레오 영상을 이용한 실험을 통해 제안된 기법의 타당성을 확인하였다.

  • Injection molded plastic parts have many surface detects: weld line, sink mark, flow mark, gloss, shading, scratching, and so on. Because these surface faults have not been accepted esthetically, plastic parts are Produced through painting or texturing. The purpose of this paper is to develop a paintless molded part of TV Mask Front by flow control method and gas-assisted injection molding. In order to minimize defects from injection molding, this study was carried out using computer aided injection mold filling simulations using MF/FLOW and MF/GAS. Based on these numerical results, we developed FR(Flame Retardant) HIPS and established guidelines of part design, mold design, and Processing conditions. We have achieved of cost sayings, improvement of productivity, and utilization of recycling by eliminating surface defects and painting process.

  • A large plastic molding requires an injection molding with a large clamping force. However, it could not be prepared in the manufacturing at any time. In order to solve the problem, the injection molding analysis study was conducted on the back cover of 55 inch LED TV. The study compared the case of applying the existing flow system such as hot runner, the improvement of the hot runner lay-out and the precise control of the gate operation time, From the results of using the improved flow system, it was found that the welding and the clamping force were considerably improved as compared with before the improvement. In particular, the clamping force was reduced by 50% compared with before the improvement.

  • 최근 스마트폰의 대중적 확산으로 인해 소프트웨어 및 콘텐츠에 대한 관심이 빠르게 증대되고 있으며, 제3자 개발자들이 애플리케이션 및 콘텐츠들을 개발하여 시장에 진입할 수 있는 앱스토어와 같은 제3자 애플리케이션 마켓도 함께 증가하고 있다. 이에 따라 제3자 개발 애플리케이션이 스마트기기에 설치되어 동작할 때 발생 가능한 보안 위협 및 이에 대한 대응 기술 연구가 주목받고 있다. 본 연구는 임베디드 리눅스 기반의 디지털 TV 환경에서 제3자 애플리케이션이 구동될 때 발생 가능한 보안 위협에 대응하기 위해서 필요한 보안 요구사항을 분석하고, 제3자 개발 애플리케이션의 전체 생명 주기를 고려한 보안 정책 관리 방법을 제안한다.

Effects of the Convergence Training on Reduction of Visual Discomfort in 3D TV Environment (3D TV 시청 환경에서 수렴 훈련에 의한 시각적 불편감의 감소)

  • The present study investigated whether convergence training in which has an effect on reducing visual discomfort in viewing 3D TV. The stereoscopic depth of 3D training stimulus was gradually increased while maintaining individual visual discomfort at a minimum value. Participants were randomly assigned into one of three groups: a control group and two training groups. For both training groups, all procedure and the disparity range of training stimuli were the same except the order of the disparities of training stimuli. One of the two different training procedure was provided: gradual change or random change of the disparities of training stimulus. Training itself was very effective so that convergence fusional range was improved after three sessions of training with intervals of two weeks. In order to evaluate the effect of convergence training on visual discomfort, the subjective visual discomfort in 3D TV viewing was measured before and after training sessions using questionnaire. The results showed that a significant reduction in visual discomfort was found after training only in the group of gradual change. These results demonstrated a repeated convergence training might be helpful in reducing the visual discomfort in 3D TV environment.

  • This paper presents the design and implementation of a video processor for the device of need TV-OUT function. The designed video processor satisfies the standard conditions of ITU-R(International Telecommunication Union-Radiocommunication) BT.470. Also, in order to apply various digital device, we concentrate upon hardware complexity. ITU-R BT.470 can be classified as NTSC, PAL or SECAM. NTSC and PAL use QAM(Quardarature Amplitude Modulation) to transmit color difference signals and SECAM uses FM(Frequency Modulation). FM must have antic-cloche filter but filter recommended by ITU-R BT.470 is not easy to design due to sharpness of the frequency response. So this paper proposes that the special quality of anti-cloche filter is transformed easy to design and the modulation method is modified to be identical with the result required at standard. The processor can control power consumption by output mode to apply portable digital devices. The proposed processor is experimentally demonstrated with ALTERA FPGA APEX20KE EP20K1000EBC652-3 device and SAMSUNG LCD-TV.

  • 과거에는 시스템이 돌아가기만 하면 되지 편리함이나 사용자의 취향을 고려하는 것은 모두 사치라는 생각이 있었다. 그러나 현재는 단순히 사용성에 근거한 시스템만으로는 그 시스템이 좋은 시스템이라고 평가 받기에는 부족한 면이 있다. 이제는 시스템이 HCI 관점에서 평가되며, 이때 시스템개발의 최종목적은 단순히 동작하는 시스템을 만드는 것이 아니라 사용자들에게 최적의 경험을 제공할 수 있는 시스템을 개발하는 것이다. 이러한 최적의 경험은 시스템과의 상호작용이 유용하고, 편리하며, 직관적이어야 얻을 수 있다. 일반적으로 TV 리모컨은 화면에 미리 지정된 부분들을 순차적으로 이동하는 간접 이동 방식으로 매우 간단한 인터랙션만을 제공해 준다. 본 논문에서는 사용자에게 보다 직관적인 인터페이스를 제공해주기 위해 리모컨의 기능을 확장한 프로젝터 기반의 가상 리모컨을 제안한다. 가상리모컨은 사용자가 원하는 위치에 생성될 수 있으며, 기존의 TV 리모컨과 같이 미리 지정된 메뉴 사이를 이동해서 제한된 선택을 하는 것이 아니라, 보다 직관적인 인터페이스를 통해 직접 기기를 동작시키는 가상 체험을 느끼면서 조작할 수 있도록 해 준다. 실험을 통해, 기존의 TV 리모컨이 일정한 학습을 필요로 했던 것과는 달리, 체험자들은 사전 학습없이 TV의 주요 기능을 가상리모컨을 사용함으로써 쉽고 빠르게 컨트롤할 수 있음을 확인하였다.

  • As digital broadcasting process and information compressing technologies developed, digital technologies have been used extensively in many visual media such as movies and TV programs, and it is required to develop a new process for 3 dimensional digital programs. The study attempts to develop a new digital video-producing process through pre-simulation using a digital storytelling method, in order to increase the quality of broadcasting, reducing the producing time and improve efficiency. This system, supposed to be used to produce actual broadcasting, includes all tools needed for broadcasting in the program, so users can select an appropriate set among the pre-made library, which saves time for making sets. Also, it offers a storyboard making function by perfectly representing the functions of a virtual camera, and enables users to make the better storyboard, checking the real time movies. In addition, it recognizes objects though avatars, organizes the appropriate set for these avatars to act, and embodies a variety of avatar movements through which it reaffirms the camera's position and organization, minimizing errors and saving time and budget.
