Objective: This paper aimed to understand influences on EEG conducting acupuncture stimulation, by comparing the changes in the acupoints on the body before and after normal people are treated with acupuncture at PC9 and TE3, which are referred to as Wood points(木穴), and PC5 and TE1, which are referred to as the Metal points(金穴) among the five shu points of Yin pericardium Meridian and Yang Triple Energizer Meridian. Methods: The study was performed on 30 healthy female volunteers in their 20's. EEG was measured for 5 minutes before acupuncture stimulation was conducted on PC9, TE3, PC5 and TE1. During 20 minutes of acupuncture treatment, the same items were continuously measured to find out whether there were any changes in them, and they were measured for 5 minutes after removing the acupuncture needles in order to implement a comparative analysis. Results: Comparision of EEG data before and after the treatment at PC9 shows no significant differences in all wave. Compared with the pre-acupuncture period at TE3, $\delta-\theta$ wave decreased significantly (P<0.05) during the acupuncture stimulation periods. Compared with the pre-acupuncture period at PC5, $\delta-\theta$ wave and high $\alpha$ wave increased significantly (P<0.05) during the acupuncture stimulation periods. And Mid $\beta$ wave and high $\beta$ wave decreased significantly (P<0.05) during the acupuncture periods and the post acupuncture periods. Compared with the Pre-acupuncture period at TE1, $\delta-\theta$ wave, $\theta$ wave and high $\alpha$ wave increased significantly (P<0.05) during the acupuncture stimulation periods. And Low $\beta$ wave decreased significantly (P<0.05) during the acupuncture periods. Conclusion: When acupuncture stimulation was performed on PC9 and TE3, referred to as the "Wood points", brain waves were stabled, while when acupuncture was performed on PC5 and TE1, called the "Metal points", a brain was waked. From the findings of this study, we hypothesize that the wood properties, from which growing starts in all things, are related with fast waves of EEG, and the metal properties, which stabilize and converge in all things, are related with slow waves of EEG.

Wave propagation in gyrotropic or anisotropic medium is analyzed in terms of the eigenmodes of the medium, which are admixture of TE and TM waves. The field composition and the phase velocity of the modes are also determined. The results of the analysis are applied to thin film optical waveguide using such medium as substrate and/or film. Based on the characteristic equations for phase constants of the waveguide, the condition for TE-TM mode convection is derived, and wave propagation in the guide is represented in the form of Jones matrix, which allows a new interpretation in the conversion efficiency of the thin-film optical waveguides.

As frequencies increase to the millimeter wave bands the cross sections of wave guides become smaller than a few millimeters, which cause sapatial problems in realization of spatial combining power amplifiers. In this paper we intented to overcome the problem by widening the width of wave guides using horn antenna principles. We designed a widened rectangular wave guide for using in spatial combining power amplifier in 60GHz ISM band(57-64GHz), and we installed Antipodal transition in the widened wave guide, and then we characterized it as a spatial combining power amplifier. For the compatibility of WR15 standard wave guide, we widened the width of WR15 to 7mm using principle of H-plane sectoral horn antenna and then installed 3 slots of back to back Antipodal transition. The designed spatial combining power amplifier showed good characteristics of return loss less than -22.4dB and insertion loss less than 0.53dB. However, as widening the width of the wave guide, additional modes such as $TE_{20}$, $TE_{30}$ in addition to $TE_{10}$ were accurred in the bandwidth of WR15, which restricted the bandwidth and widening of the width of the wave guide.

Multi-port($2{\times}2$port, 1port) rectangular waveguide discontinuity problem has been analyzed by use of $TE^x_{mn}$ (mono)mode matching method. Matrix size can be reduced significantly in comparison with $TE_{mn}&TM_{mn}$(full-wave)mode matching method. the present results is compared with those by CST MicroWave Studio to validate the presint method.
Electrical resistivity and switching phenomena in glass semiconductor of AsTe and AsTeGa is studied. Samples sliced from ingot which is air quenched or water quenched, show high resistivity at room temperature. The resistivity of the AsTe and AsTeGa is 1*10$^{6}$ .ohm.-cm and 5*10$^{6}$ .ohm.-cm at 27.deg. C. Switching phenomena take place in thin the thick samples. Holding voltage is different with the thickness of the samples and the characteristics of switching in the thin and thick samhles are similar. When square wave pulse voltage is applied, delay time is detected to 5.mu.sec by oscilloscpoe.
CdTe films were deposited by close spaced sublimation with various substrate temperatures, cell areas, and thicknesses of CdTe and ITO layers and their effects on the CdS/CdTe solar cells were investigated. The resistivity of CdTe layers employed in this study was 3$\times$$10^{4}$$\Omega$cm For constant substrate temperature the optimum substrate ternperature for CdTe deposition was $600^{\circ}C$. To obtain larger grain size and more compact microstructure, CdTe film was initially deposited at 62$0^{\circ}C$, and then deposited at 54$0^{\circ}C$. The CdTe film was annealed at 62$0^{\circ}C$ and $600^{\circ}C$ sequentially to maintain the CdTe film quality. The photovoitaic cell efficiency improved by the "two-wave" process. For constant substrate temperature, the optimum thickness for CdTe was 5-6$\mu m$. Above 6$\mu m$ CdTe thickness, the bulk resistance of CdTe film degraded the cell performance. As the cell area increased the $V_{oc}$ remained almost constant, while $J_{sc}$ and FF strongly decreased because of the increase of lateral resistance of the ITO layer. The optimum thickness of the ITa layer in this study was 300~450nm. In this experiment we obtained the efficiency of 9.4% in the O.5cm' cells. The series resistance of the cell should be further reduced to increase the fill factor and improve the efficiency.

A method for suppressing unwanted resonance modes by attaching an electromagnetic wave absorber onto a metal case was studied to prevent performance deterioration of electronic devices. The electromagnetic wave absorber fabricated for this study had an attenuation characteristics above 20dB in the frequency band from 450MHz, 1150MHz. A rectangular cavity resonator whose resonance frequencies of TE$_{101}$, TE$_{102}$ modes were 900MHz, 1250MHz, respectively, was made to measure attenuation for the electromagnetic wave absorber-metal assembly. The result showed that the resonance mode for high attenuation was sensitive to the location of electromagnetic wave absorber, and the attenuation characteristics above 20dB could be obtained when electromagnetic wave absorber was properly positioned.

A guided-wave TE to TM mode converter was demonstrated by using of the off-diagonal electrooptic coefficients in LiTaO$_{3}$. The input mode is coupled to the other orthogonal mode by the electrooptically induced off-diagonal polarizability. Compared with LiNbO$_{3}$, LiTaO$_{3}$ provides a smaller birefringence and thus a larger phase match period and larger optical bnadwidth. A novel electrode structure allowed a first-order Bragg-coupling phase matching. TE/TM mode conversion efficiency of 90% at 25 [V] was demonstrated with ${\lambda}$=0.63$\mu$m He-Ne laser.

The electromagnetic scattering characteristics by a periodic strip grating on a grounded dielectric slab for TE polarization case is examined from the viewpoints of both the reflection grating and the leaky wave antenna problems. Numerical results for two kinds of Bragg blazing (resonance type and non-resonance type) phenomena are given and some discussions on the properties such as complex propagation constants, scattering characteristics, and distributions of strip current density are presented.
In this paper, we study the electronic and magnetic properties of Cr substituted SiTe in the rock-salt structure compound using the full potential linearized augmented plane wave method within the generalized gradient approximation to the exchange correlation potential. Two stoichiometries are studied: $CrSi_3Te_4$ with 25 %, and $CrSiTe_2$ with 50 % Cr substitution. We found, from the total energy calculations, that the equilibrium lattice constant for cubic $CrSi_3Te_4$ is 11.64 a.u. and a = 7.89 a.u. and c = 11.13 a.u. for tetragonal $CrSiTe_2$. The integer value of the calculated magnetic moment per unit cell, $4{\mu}_B$ for $CrSiTe_2$ suggests that this compound is halfmetallic. The magnetic moment per unit cell for $CrSi_3Te_4$ is slightly larger than $4{\mu}_B$. The magnetic moment on Cr atoms are 3.61 and $3.62{\mu}_B$ in the $CrSi_3Te_4$ and $CrSiTe_2$, respectively. The presence of Cr atoms causes that the other atoms become slightly magnetized in both compounds. The electronic properties and the magnetism are discussed with the calculated spin-polarized density of states.
